she noticed how it was kinda weird that her father's family only ever had one male heir per generation. turns out they practice poisoning their unborn male babies so that there's never any contention for the family seat!

her mother killed her dad for revenge when pandora was 8 and came back to the uk with the kids where she moved to one of her family's residences in ireland!!!

Tiberius was glad he didn't have to work today, lately far too distracted to focus on much. He was excited for his future with Cressida, but he was also nervous. He knew she was risking a lot to be with him, and he knew there was a chance of backlash. Perhaps that's why he was distracting himself with getting some errands done today. If he focused on his thoughts and worries too much, they'd likely eat him alive. He was just stepping out of the quill shop, rummaging in the bag and not paying attention to his surroundings when he nearly ran into the woman who stepped into his path. He tried to stop, though he still knocked into her shoulder. "Sorry about that! I should have had my eyes on my surroundings. Not my bag." He flashed her an apologetic smile. "Are you alright?"

One of the great joys of being Pandora Rosier was that she did not have to work. She did not have to do anything, really, if she did not want to, and, equally, she had every opportunity to do anything that she did. Today's whim was to try her hand at divination, and when she couldn't find any of her old crystal balls from Hogwarts (she hadn't looked very hard), she set out to buy a new one. She'd been admiring it whilst walking – evidently an unwise move – when somebody ran into her. The ball dropped to the floor and shattered all over the cobbled street. She looked down at it for a moment. "Crap. And I really thought I saw myself grow old with that ball." Pandora laughed. "That's okay! I never look where I'm going anyway. Just trust the power of the universe to get me where I need to go safely." She flashed him a sheepish smile. "Clearly that's not working out great."

Ètienne had a few loves. Two of them were fresh air and newspapers. He had picked up the day’s copy of The Daily Prophet, tucked it under his arm and headed to the park. It was a park he frequented. It was generally quiet, lined with benches, an open field. All in all it was perfect.

The Prophet may not have been the best paper to read given how one sided it was but it was the easiest thing to find and he liked to keep up on what was happening. Besides, he would find another paper later on.

He opened the pages and flicked them so they were straight, pictures dancing on the pages and filled with words. As he began to read he noticed a shadow near him. He looked up. “May I help you with something?” He smiled dashingly.

Dragonfly season was sadly, by the end of Summer, coming to an end. That was why, when Pandora saw an emerald damselfly when she was out on a walk, she ran to follow it. It wove in and out of families and prams and lovers and pedestrians until it finally landed on the front page of the Prophet. Probably to defecate there, she could only assume.

"Yes. Don't make any sudden movements," she said to the stranger who was holding it, carefully reaching over to take the dragonfly into her outstretched hands. It hopped onto her index finger. At last, Pandora looked up at the man in front of her. "It's not even a rare bug," she commented with a smile, eyes back on the dragonfly. "But that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve our attention."

With the rain splattering against the windows, the sun slowly dipping behind the horizon, it almost seemed like a perfect night in. With all the hassle and the hectic movement of the past few days it almost seemed like the better option; the perfect opportunity to catch up. "Tell me you've come to visit me? Evan seems all too busy. Well, he was last I checked. For all I know he could be out and about or just hiding out in some other part of the manor."

Leta felt the chuckle as it made its way up, echoing through the room. "And I do believe we have plenty to catch up, no? It's been a while and then some. And I may have a dress looking for a potential new owner. I believe they'd call it ethereal. I do not know if that is something you'd like but why not give it a go?" It was almost like having a little sister. Despite Evan being who he was, every now and then having some like Pandora around was quite refreshing. The witch moved over to one of the sofas, smiling as she patted the spot next to her. "What do you say?"

Only a small, exclusive group of people could make Pandora leave the sanctity of her home. Her cousins were amongst that group. She felt exceedingly lucky to have been born one of the youngest of the extended Rosier family, and, although she knew she could be annoying at times (and was possibly even more annoying when she was younger), had always been showered by love from them regardless. "I have indeed. Oh, I brought you some freshly-picked Moondew," she said, holding the little bouquet of white flowers she'd put together, tied neatly with an indigo ribbon. "He's like a cat. As long as he knows his way back home, he'll be fine. Probably."

Leta was everything Pandora was not. All of her older cousins were, in fact. Graceful, poised and elegant – at least to the public eye. It was probably why the younger girl had never really minded feeling different; she was used to it. She'd grown up with it. "Yes, it has been. I have so much to tell you! Where have you been hiding?" She nudged her gently with her hip, smile on her lips. Pandora's eyes widened at the mention of a dress. "Ethereal is my favourite word. And anything you touch turns to gold, anyway, so I'm very, very excited to see it." Pandora went to sit beside her cousin. "I say yes, of course. If I ever answer no to that question, please feel free to Avada Kedavra me."

He'd always enjoyed his conversations with his cousin, he found her blunt honesty quite entertaining. "Well, that's a whole lot of optimism you're sharing, dear." Evan called out, drink in hand as he settled besides the brunette. "I am going to be standing there soon enough, you've heard about my betrothal, but I do agree it's futile to vow true love if it simply does not exist. Perhaps one should vow to respect the contract a marriage ends up being, instead."

"Somebody has to stay realistic in the relationship. Whoever would want to end up with me is definitely going to have a few screws loose, so, unfortunately, that role defaults to me," Pandora defended. "Respect? So romantic," she said with a grin. "Can I ask you something?" She was going to anyway: "Do you love Alara?"

"Pandora." She chuckled at her younger cousin's excitement. The other was always a little exuberant and odd but over the years Emma got used to it. "Well we can't have that. If they're anything like our mothers, they are relentless."

"Not mine, thank Merlin," she replied happily. "I think my mother's given up. All eyes are on your wedding now. Speaking of, is Sethos here? Can I meet him?"

She watches Pandora curiously, chattering on as if Bella gave a sickle what her thoughts were. She resists the urge to burst into uncontrolled laughter, both fatigue and adrenaline spurring her more unsavoury thoughts. "I'll allow it this once, since I'm feeling celebratory," Bella says, knowing damn well if she truly was feeling celebratory, it'd make her want to break some arms even more. She pities the younger girl, she was weird, and the worst thing you could be in society was different from everybody else.

"Your friends," she drawls, bored and vying for an unimportant conversation, it seemed. "Do you mean my disgraceful little cousin?" She realizes then she needs to be more specific, considering both Black juniors were equally as disgraceful as they were useless. "The one without the mutts following him around."

Pandora exhales a breath she didn't realise she was holding. "Oh, good. Thank you." It takes a lot to scare her, but Bellatrix manages it just fine. She always has. Pandora is sure this is a common reaction, although she finds herself wondering if it's completely intentional. The younger girl, for all her oddness and quirks, tends to be one people avoid; she finds some kinship with Bellatrix in that. "Having to ceelebrate your sister leaving to join another family must be difficult. I'm not sure I could do it," she muses, still facing away.

At that, Pandora finally turns to look at Bellatrix, expression contorted into innocent confusion. "No," she replies easily. "You must have him mixed up with someone else. My friend Regulus is possibly the least disgraceful person I know. Nobody in their right mind would ever identify him as such."

Summer breeze danced in her hair as Pandora looked out at the stillness beyond her. Inside was getting overwhelming. She needed some moments of quiet. It had been a while since she had come outside, and now found herself sitting on the grass, revelling in her own company, lost in her thoughts. In her mind, she couldn't be farther from the wedding. When she heard footsteps behind her, however, it brought her back to the moment. "Sorry. I've been hogging all the fresh air out here," she said with a smile. "If you want to enjoy the night alone, just say and I'll go back inside."

Although she'd been here a handful of times before, something about 12 Grimmauld Place still felt eerie to Pandora. It was a lot colder than her home was. Reminded her of her father's. Whilst she waited for Regulus in the library with Kreacher, she spoke jovially to the house elf, cutting through the uncomfortable silence with her light conversation. "Oh, sure," she was saying, giving in at last. "I'd love a cup of tea. Three sugars and milk, please. And whatever Master Regulus drinks so it's ready for him. Thank you, Kreacher. You’re always so kind."

"Emma!" Pandora said excitedly, wrapping her arms around her cousin where she sat, pressing a quick kiss to her cheek, before going to sit in the empty seat beside her. "Quick. Talk to me. Pretend we're having a conversation." She looked around, distracted. "I'm hiding from someone's mother who keeps trying to rope me into meeting her son."

The morning had been beautiful, love so thick and heavy in the air that one might choke on it. Luckily, Pandora loved love. What she did not love was these empty declarations of it. "I hate weddings," she said to her cousin bluntly. "How could you possibly stand there and promise you'll stay with someone under any and every circumstance, and mean it? It just seems so fake. Or short-sighted. If I get married, my vows are going to be 'I'll be with you until I don't want to'. That makes so much more sense, don't you think?"

OPEN STARTER — THE WEDDING.

Bella was on her best behaviour today, although the urge to scream, break into frustrated tears, or hex someone all threatened to suffocate her. The weather was, of course, perfect, her sister was stunning, and the overall ceremony had been... mind-numbingly heartwarming. Something she would think if she had a heart to warm, at least. Bella, obviously, wasn't jealous nor annoyed at all. She didn't care that love filled every nook and cranny of the blasted place. She didn't care about the ease at which Narcissa's friends chatted amongst themselves, always knowing exactly what to say and when to say it. She also did not care that everywhere she turned, she was forced to offer empty platitudes, greetings, and — merlin forbid — compliments.

Which is why after multiple hours of pointedly not caring, Bellatrix leans over and picks up a canapé, shoving it into her mouth and biting down so hard her teeth clack together. She sees the other person, but on theme for today, does not care. "Stop looking at me," she says calmly and slowly, "or I will snap your arm in half, and I won't use my wand to do it."

Pandora’s not sure she will ever get married. The idea of uniting so intimately with someone else and their family is, quite frankly, terrifying. And what’s more — there’s no way out. No escape. Apart from death, of course, but it’d be a shame if she has to kill her husband one day like her mother had to. But she supposes someone would have to want to marry her first, for this to even be an issue. Thoughts such as this occupy her mind during the reception when she finds herself alone.

She’s scouring the room for signs of her friends to help silence her mind, but her eyes land on Bellatrix instead. Wrong move, it seems. “I — errr, okay,” she says, eyes averting so she’s talking to mid-air as she continues. “But I promise I wasn’t looking at you. Just searching for my friends. I’d really love to keep my arms if that’s okay.”

WHO: Narcissa & OPEN WHERE: The Malfoy Wedding, Reception

The wedding ceremony had gone down without a hitch. Every detail carefully planned out to perfection by their mothers to ensure there was no room for even the tiniest error in their grand plan. It was the final show and parade orchestrated by their parents before their lives were truly their own to live as they pleased, but despite having little control over her big day, Narcissa was truly happy to call Lucius her husband at long last.

Like every wedding, everyone wanted a slice of the bride and grooms time and Narcissa was happy to oblige. A genuine smile on her lips, she made her way around the dozens of guests in attendance. “Thank you for being here with us today to celebrate our union. I hope that you’re enjoying yourself so far and have been able to find your place setting with no issue.” She offered to the person in front of her.

Narcissa, in Pandora's eyes, was ethereal. Everything about her radiated an effortless sort of beauty that was rare to behold. Like a moth to a flame, Pandora couldn't help but be drawn to her. She'd felt this way about Regulus' older cousin from a young age, before she'd even been able to discern the feeling in the pit of her stomach, to know that it was not envy, but admiration. Even today, as she made such a lovely bride, there was an ease to her that Pandora believed couldn't quite be taught. She was so fucking cool.

"Oh, of course. Thank you both so much for having me. It was such a beautiful wedding. I don't even like weddings normally, but this was honestly perfect. I really and truly hope your marriage is as lovely as this day." Despite her childhood crush, she did mean it sincerely. Her eyes wandered to the side distractedly. "Hey, have you seen Reg?"

Sinistra hated weddings. They reminded her of her own failed wedding. The one she had put time, sweat and tears into only to be shattered. The only reason she was at this event was because of status. She had to be there. If she didn't show her face it would be obvious to those she had begun to create ties with. She couldn't risk being knocked down any pegs. -- but it didn't mean she had to enjoy her time.

It was like any other pureblood event. Niceties and small talk. So that's what she would have to look forward to for the evening? Wonderful. But she had to play the game. And, unfortunately, the Blacks and the Malfoys were big names in the game.

As the servers walked around with plates of finger food and drinks, Sinistra took a flute of champagne and gulped it in two seconds. Noticing someone watching her she asked, "Have you never seen a woman chug a drink before?"

It wasn't that Pandora hated weddings, per se. She just didn't like parties much in general. On top of that, she was against the institution of marriage. The more she considered it, the more she realised, maybe she did hate weddings.

She'd spent much of this one as a wallflower clung to the the peripheries of the ballroom. Her friends were off somewhere, she wasn't quite sure, and she'd given up looking for them. They were probably busy and knew where to find her. What she was looking for now, however, was a drink. She spotted someone with a platter of champagne flutes and made a beeline for them. As she saw Sinistra gulp down the amber-coloured liquid, she grinned. "Not at this wedding, no. Everybody's been sipping their drinks oh-so-properly. It's nice, actually, to see someone not pretending they wouldn't rather be shitfaced."

the heels that she'd initially planned to wear lay haphazardly discarded on pandora's bedroom floor the moment she'd spotted her black creepers. of course! she'd thought. they were the missing touch she'd so desperately needed to make her feel like herself. she looked in the mirror, smoothing out her dress, and smiled. perfect. her mother knocked and came into the room, eyeing falling on the shoes. "you look beautiful! i love the shoes. i really admire how you're always so authentically yourself, my darling."

the store was dimly lit and cramped, with shelves overflowing with oddments and dust. barty steps inside, his gaze sharp as he navigates through the clutter, nose upturned, he really would prefer not to be here.

barty’s footsteps are soft on the dust-covered floor as he moves past ancient artifacts and peculiar gadgets. he pauses and glances around, eyes landing on a figure in one of the labyrinthine aisles, finally a shopkeeper to assist. “i’m looking for something… particular. something a bit out of the ordinary. ideas?”

pandora's only a few steps behind barty, as she tends to be, trailing slowly after him as he makes his way through the shop. her eyes are wide with intrigue as they dance over the shelves. every few steps, when she feels particularly called by an object, connected to it, she stops to look at it closely – an iron hand or an ancient amulet, or, as she's pulling out now from the middle of a pile of books, a decomposing notebook with a tattered spine. "this is cool," she says, aware that barty has just spoken to the shopkeeper but not really caring. she flicks it open to find ink barely legible. alohomora, she manages to read amidst the incoherently scrawled letters. to unlock. "looks like an ancient book of spells. not sure if this is the kinda thing you're after, but i might get it."

Regulus rolled his eyes fondly at the others teasing tone. He doesn't get irritated like he normally would. Pandora had always been someone who Regulus treated differently. There had always been something special between them. Regulus doesn't think theres a single soul in the world who he would trust, or who knows him as well as Pandora does.

Regulus chuckled lightly at the threat, knowing full well Pandora was being completely serious in it. "Well, good thing shes fine then." At the question he shrugged. If it were just about anyone else he would want to get the hell away as soon as possible, but it was Pandora, and Regulus never got sick of being around her. "I don't know, I was going to ask you the same. Fancy a drink?" He asked.

If she believed in soulmates, at least in a platonic sense, part of the reason why was the boy beside her. Nobody understood Pandora quite like Regulus did. Whatever she lacked, he made up for. His weaknesses were her strengths. The pair complemented each other perfectly. To the untrained eye, they seemed to be opposites, but upon further inspection, people would realise that they were really just two sides of the same coin. "Oh, yes please. That sounds wonderful. But I'll only go if it's on me. We haven't celebrated your engagement properly yet, and I'd love to buy you a drink or two... or ten." Marriage was scary. Terrifying, even. As someone who had never seen one work, Pandora felt slightly uneasy at this arrangement. But for the sake of her friends, she tried to be positive.
