I have people walk up to the bakery asking if there are any apply fritters and then walk away in a huff when I say we don't make those. Okay, bye weirdo.
Does it gross any other panera worker out when people want to substitute a sugary bread for a sandwich? For example, I have multiple customers order ham, egg, and cheese on a cinnamon cruch bagel and cinnamon swirl bread for a grilled cheese. Ew.
I don't like it when creepy old men use my name. I know I have my Panera name tag on but it doesn't mean you can use my name in every sentence you speak to me.
Please stop yelling at me about that the cinnamon roll price went up 10 cents. Do you not see how freakin’ huge these rolls are?! They are the size of my head, of course the price had to go up. If Panera is too expansive for you, there is a mcdonalds in the food court. Nobody is making you come to Panera. Unless.... OH NO! The chips in people’s heads!!!! (*See early post about chips in brains)
I had a customer ask me for a knife about 4 times in a row. Yes, I heard you the first time you asked but first you need to take the tray that has your pastry and your 2 ceramic mugs before I can get your knife. Settle down and take a deep breathe; it will be okay.
My first customers of the day were the classic annoying white girls. They come in early morning. The 1st blonde was like, “Do NOT get their flatbreads, they are so gross!” and she continued like this for 1 minute. I am standing at my register like, “are you going to order or complain because I have better things to do then listen to your whiny skinny ass”. But don’t worry, it only took each girl 5 minutes to order and my poor regular customers are standing behind them looking at me all pathetic and I was like, “I know, I am so sorry.”
This is why you NEED to know what you are going to order before you come up because you are holding up the line. I was the only register and I was seriously thinking about asking those girls to leave and come back when they are actually ready to order. Plus, if you are a whiny, bitchy person like these girls you will be treated poorly but me and talked about by the manager who was like, “what are their problems? Needy.”
I don’t understand customer obsession with the cinnamon crunch bagel. Its like the bagel that will give you diabetes quicker. I find it gross how I have to pound off the excess cinnamon crunch topping that is surrounding the actual bagel by 2 inches so it doesn’t get even more all over the bagel wall when I open bakery in the mornings.
My favorite thing about Bagel Tuesday ($6.99 for bakers’ dozen) is when the customer wants you to separate all the bagels into plastic bags.... said no Panera cashier ever
I have zero patience for rude old people I don’t care if you’re a senior I’ll fucking fight you lets see what moves they taught your wrinkled ass in the war of 1812 talk shit get hit
Panera Customer: “I want a bagel.”
*Swipes card/tries to give cashier money*
Panera Cashier: “......Which bagel?”
Customer acts like that is the toughest question they have ever been asked.
Panera Cashiers are not mind readers; please tells us what freakin’ bagel you want! Oh and it would been awesome if you said toasted or not too.
Thank you,
Frustrated Panera Cashier
This has happened to me so many times at work at Panera.
Panera Cashier: “Do you have a MyPanera card?”
Customer: “Yes”
Panera Cashier waiting for customer to give card or tell phone number. Customer stares at them. 10 seconds go by.
Panera Cashier: “Do you have your card or I can look it up with your phone number.”
Customer: “Oh, I didn’t register it yet.”
Panera Cashier is pissed that you wasted her/his time and the customers waiting in line time too. Serious, just say no if you didn’t register the card yet. The cashier doesn’t want to hear your story of why you haven’t register the card yet.
What's wrong with working at Panera?
It’s basically working fast food but serving people who think they’re above fast food.
So true. I had a woman pissed at me for not grabbing her a packet of mayo when they are right there in front of the drink lids where she got her 32 oz pop filled. I am not a waitress and I don’t make tips.
When entire sport teams come to Panera after practice/a game:
Truth! Especially since they all want a smoothie and pastry and mac n cheese. Rang in a order that was over $200 for a girl’s soccer team.
My face before I go into work at Panera Bread.
When people say there is no such thing as a stupid question, I want to smack them on the head. I cannot count the number of times I have been asked by a customer: “What is on the Roasted Turkey Avocado BLT?” Seriously?
Also printing this one. My fellow coworkers will love these.
