“ao3 should have an algorithm” ao3 should continue only giving me exactly what I ask for which happens because I know how to use the search, sort, and filter functions
New character, who this?
First of 2025, happy new year.
I accept tips and suggestions for drawing improvements.
Made an arcane fan animation hehe
Beautiful
glorious evolution
Seeing people (granted, a minority) genuinely try to argue that Jayce and Viktor are just friends or 'brothers' is insane to me, and better yet, use Mel/Sky as an excuse as to why they can't be queer or have feelings for one another. It's not to say they didn't hold affection or love for their female LI's, because I have no doubt Jayce did in fact cherish Mel.
However, in a show/society like Arcane that doesn't put constraints on queerness or relationships - whose to say they couldn't be genuine soulmates and create space for their other lovers? Why are we trying to fit Jayce and Viktor's affection for one another into a box, when the quiet and unspoken nature of it all is more romantic than any overt confession?
Jayce can love Mel, but he can also unapologetically want to freak it with his lab partner. Hooray bisexuals!!!
Like literally in every timeline Jayce saves Viktor. It always ends in death but it also always ends with them together.
They stopped one another from killing themselves and then they died together.
Mutual ambition that lead to mutual admiration that lead to mutual love that ultimately lead to mutual destruction but throughout it all the love was mutual and that's what matters more than anything
what the fuck is this

I think there's something that needs to be said about encouraging readers to leave feedback.
For me it's not about "tell me my writing is amazing and stroke my ego"
It's more about "please engage with me so that I can experience your joy secondhand and foster a connection with you"
I understand that not everyone wants this in their reading experience, some people are shy and a million other reasons why maybe someone wouldn't want to engage and that's perfectly fine!
But what I'm trying to steer away from is being a passive content creator with passive consumers. What I want to steer toward is fostering a community that is essential to fandom. I want to see your reactions because it makes me feel like I'm a part of something.
On encouraging reblogs —
I understand that not everyone is comfortable reblogging, especially explicit content. This is ok!
But just consider that the only reason you were able to enjoy a fic or fanart is because someone else shared it, and by not sharing it yourself you are potentially robbing someone else of the opportunity to enjoy it as much as you did.
As OPs our reach only goes so far and this website relies on reblogs in order for anything to truly get seen by a wider audience.
So that's really it! That's why I encourage these two things at the end of every story I post. Not because I'm trying to be demanding and "make people feel bad" if they don't do it.
I know most other social media sites encourage mindless content consumption and that's just the way of the world nowadays, but I am from a time when community was at the heart of fandom and I just don't want to lose that.
But what I'm trying to steer away from is being a passive content creator with passive consumers. What I want to steer toward is fostering a community that is essential to fandom. I want to see your reactions because it makes me feel like I'm a part of something.

ghost in a shirt that says “weapons of mass destruction” on the tits
i can’t draw so i’m going to need you guys to imagine ornithologist soap who uses the fact that his boyfriend ghost is a barn owl hybrid to better study wing anatomy.
ghost will happily sit without his shirt, cross-legged on the edge of their bed while soap sits behind him with his journal, gently urging ghost’s wings to spread or retract to study them, or carefully feeling along the bone structure to better know how to sketch them, all the while occasionally preening or crumbling the casing of a pin feather if he notices one.
if any feather falls off meanwhile, soap might add it to an ever-growing collection, or if ghost notices first he might offer it out the same way one might hold out a bouquet, and soap accepts with a warm smile every time.
it’s a routine they both enjoy, though admittedly it’s sometimes more self-indulgent than it is an assistance to soap’s studies and profession.
Ok super rough and quick sketch cuz I couldn’t get it out of my head (sorry if the characters don’t look the part this is literally the first time i do fan art for this fandom
If anyone else drew this prompt i would love to see it please

it's not 'AI art has no soul' because soul is subjective and creating art is not necessarily a divine spark of inspiration, sometimes human made art is empty of feeling and meaning and that's okay.
it's not 'AI art is ugly' because human made art doesn't need to be pretty, it's still art, no matter if you're starting or if you intentionally make ugly things. It's still okay.
The problem, with AI art (besides the copyright theft, the environmental issues, the artists losing their jobs..)
The problem is that
AI art lacks INTENT
When a human makes something, every part of the creation is a decision made. Why this line, why this color, why this word, why this stitch, why this note.
They may be good decisions, bad decisions, it doesn't matter. The end result is something with thought, and this is why we appreciate art. There is the surface, and underneath, there is an ocean of decisions made by the artist.
AI art has no intent.
Yes, they will type prompts for a general idea. And they will pick a result.
But there is no thought about poses, colors, lines, backgrounds, details, negative space, lighting, texture, framing, etc.
Becoming a good artist means to understand these decisions and align them to make the result you want.
AI art will pick through millions of those decisions made by other people and will stick them together without meaning or reason, so they lose their intended purpose. This is why people think AI art is empty, that it has no 'soul'. Because there is no thought process behind it.
We should stop comparing human and AI art by using words like "better" or "worse". People will always have different opinions.
But as a human, I am more interested in things made by other humans, because I can observe all those tiny decisions, I can relate to some, be surprised by some, dislike some, it's all good.
Art is people communicating.
AI art has nothing to say.
