What do you think about this: In dgm 222, that girl Lucia's glasses look similar to Past Allen's, so they might be the same. I also read somewhere on your blog about a real life Allen Campbell (talk about irony) who was a famous alchemist, and we know that our Past Allen knew some things about alchemy/helix of life/etc. His surname could be Campbell.
Hmm, I think you might be misremembering? The Earl of Millennium was stated to be based on a real-life alchemist, but Hoshino didn’t say which, and from the details it’s likeliest to be Nicholas Flamel (ETA: Or the Count of St. Germain, which is apparently not an alias of Flamel’s but an entirely different person; thanks for catching my erroneous conflation, @trickstergames!). I don’t know of any alchemists with the surname “Campbell,” let alone one named “Allen.”
In-verse, the family with the greatest connection to the Helix – so far, as far I can tell – are the Changs. All of the magic we’ve seen from them over the course of the story has involved the manipulation of life energy, mostly the transfer and storage thereof. The only reason Chang!Allen isn’t my foremost theory is that (at least with his glasses on) he doesn’t have the Chang look about him at all.
All that said, Lucia well might have Allen’s glasses! Allen was very much entangled with the Campbells, and Lucia’s hanging out at the (former?) Campbell house. That’s not far for them to have to go. I can’t imagine the prescription is right, haha, but symbolism trumps science in a story like this, so.
Could be.
