Growing up, I used to be obsessed with HGTV House Hunters, religiously watching it with my mom every Thursday night. I remember watching an episode of House Hunters International one night where this couple was finding a place in Paris and talked about how the French buy food fresh from the market for that night's dinner. And this market reminds me of that. A place where you can buy exactly what you need for the night...
This is the most quaint market that is right around the corner from my place. It's on a side street hidden under an orange awning. When entering the store you literally take two steps down into the amazing grocery world. With fresh produce right in front of your eyes and to the right a section of fresh flowers and succulents. Packed into this grocery store is everything you could ever want from name brands, organics, to ice cream from local businesses.
Also, Olivia's market is the only place around me that can satiate my bf's need for sausage for breakfast. Can you believe this is the one place of four near me that sells normal breakfast sausage?.... hard to believe it.

In October I moved back to this amazing city, Chicago. I've both loved and disliked being back. In the city, at times it can feel a bit lonely, especially when I work when normals are sleeping and sleep/play when normals are working. But I've come to realize it's what you make of it. Even though this polar vortex winter makes me want to be a hermit, (snuggle in my yellow walled room and warm sheets, or watch netflix on my new tv), I still have to maintain my sanity and get some fresh air. I want this blog to be my own yelp page. A place where I can share my favorite places, things and adventures.
Celebrating a New Year and a New Age
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Despite the irritating family, demanding patients, the pleasantly confused elderly, psychologically unstable, respiratory dependent, antibiotic resistant, sometimes rude doctors, and incontinent patients, for the first time in 8 months I can honestly say I like being a nurse, I love impacting lives, I'm grateful for appreciative patients and blessed to be working with such helpful staff.

In High School we are forced to read the classics in English class: Fahrenheit 451, Romeo and Juliet, Huckleberry Finn... All of the books are so intensely about life- struggles, love, poverty, discrimination. I find this funny, in High School we read these books annotate and analyze them, but at age 16-18 I had no idea what living life really meant.
