༄ A vaunt to an overachiever.
I am what they call an overachiever. My intelligence is addictive. When I talk, you'll just want to listen. I am always the smartest one in the room, and I don't even try. I don't have time for boys. My future is my top priority. I am the definition of beauty and brains. The way my mind functions is exquisite. My face card is lethal. So lethal, that it is all others can focus on in class. I am passionately over educated. The way I talk oozes wisdom and passion. I explain stuff in such a poetic way. I think like great philosophers and poets. I am ahead of my time. Failure is not a word in my dictionary. I always succeed. I was born a winner. I was born to be known. My name is written among the stars. - 𝜗𝜚

The beauty of Raine Whisper's story
Traditionally in stories, in order for a Hero to have a "happy ending" you need to do succeed in something grand; get that dream job, your big scores, or slay the BBEEG yourself. You need to win in order to get a happy ending.
The thing about Raines story arc in the show that captivated me is that "Sucess" was not a requirement for Raine to get their happy ending.
The rebellion that Raine spend DECADES of her life on in order to beat Belos, was CRUSHED as an afterthought by Belos and was never even seen as threat while he focused on his actual main enemy; a 14-year-old girl and her school friend group.
Raines attempt to keep Eda safe by keeping her out of the rebellion; Raine puts Eda into a position where she nearly dies and then has to cut off their GF's arm.
Raines attempt to stop Belos again; Raine is too slow and Belos managed to possess the Titan. While Belos is eventually stopped by Luz; he manages to kill off the Titan, the GOD of the B.I. and make a giant section of the land unlivable.
Yet, despite these failures, Raine still gets their happy ending. They become the new leader of the Boiling Isles after Luz defeats Belos. They manage to have their happy ending with Eda. Even though they would likely never have biological kids with Eda they got a non-biological child in the form of Luz.
What I love about Raines story is that is shows that even if you aren't very successful in life, you can still get and deserve to have a happy ending. A good life isn't necessarily predicated on "winning" all or even most of the time. I also love how Dana Terrace gave Raine a good end and not just kill them off for drama like 99 percent of shows would do.
