I am absolutely in LOVE with your fics that I’ve seen! I was wondering if you could do a fic short of Perpetua?
If so, could it be along the lines of: so Perpetua feels out of place with having become papa and replacing Copia, since they hadn’t seen each other in so long, then feeling though he may not have that impact that his brother had. So one might he ends up coming off stage upset even though his performance seemed to be his best yet and ends up caving in and getting upset so all the ghouls decide to take care of him by like comforting him, brushing his hair for him, picking out an outfit for him and stuff like that and in the end they all fall asleep in a cuddle pile?

He stomps off the stage with a heavy heart and even heavier feet. He felt like he'd messed up, like he didn't perform as well as he could have even though the ghouls had told him how amazing he'd been.
He still couldn't shake the thought that everyone would still prefer to see Copia there. That he was just a poor excuse for a replacement. He didn't think he had the same stage presence, that he didn't quite fill the shoes that had been left for him.
His head spins and he just wants to sleep, to climb into bed and ignore the angry voices in his head for a few hours. He's glad they'll be back at the hotel tonight, glad for doors to hide behind.
Dew walks beside him and wraps an arm around his waist. “Want to stay with me?”
He doesn't push, he just let's the question lay and Perpetua knows he could say no and that it would be ok …but he doesn't want to say no.
He nods, words too hard right now and Dew smiles, squeezing him a little tighter to his side. “You did so well! I know you don't think so, but you really did.”
He shrugs and lays his head against Dew's warm shoulder, shutting his eyes as they drive. Dew keeps him close when they get to the hotel and leads him up to his room.
“Go take a shower and get into something comfy ok? I'll pick a book.”
He nods, feeling just a little lighter already. The door to the bathroom shuts behind him and as soon as he's alone the doubts start up again.
He could cry as he stands there.
“Perpetua?” Dew knocks after a few minutes. “I don't hear the water, are you ok?”
The door slowly opens and he wants to hide his face, he doesn't want Dew to think he's weak but he just stands there. Dew's eyes go soft and he smiles.
“Need some help?”
He's not sure it's allowed, can he really ask for that…but he didn't really ask...it had been offered. He just nods and hangs his head.
“Hey look at me, amour. It's ok, I'm here for whatever you need.” He cups Perpetua's face in his hands. “We all look out for one another, yeah?”
He nods and lets his hands rest over Dew's. He closes his eyes for a long moment before he feels steady enough for Dew to move to start the water.
He fills up the tub so Perpetua can relax in the hot water and the bubbles. He asks is he'd like some toys but he shakes his head, he's not there right now, not really. He thinks he could slip but for now he's just a little fuzzy.
“Ok. Lean back and relax for a bit ok. I'll be right back I'm just going to get your PJs ready.”
He reaches to hold Dew's hand for a moment and Dew let's him, he stays as long as he needs without rushing him and Perpetua slowly starts to think that maybe it's ok. He relaxes while he listens to Dew humming as he finds what he's looking for but he freezes when the door opens to the room.
He can hear Dew talking…then Mountain…then Aurora…
His brain flies into panic,that they'd come now to tell him how horrible he'd actually been on stage. He slides down until the water covers his chin.
Dew pokes his head back in and shuts the door. “It's up to you but the others came, they want to have a pack night with you.”
He tilts his head, confused by what that means. He's not their pack…
“I told you, silly goose, we look out for each other. You can say no but I think it might help.” He smiles, reaching out to push a strand of his hair from his face.
He raises his hands to sign but he can't figure out what to say so he just nods instead.
“Ok, I'll let them know. Do you want me to wash your hair or Aurora? She's really good at it. She's got magic in her hands i'm pretty sure. She learned from Cumulus.”
That does sound lovely. *”Can you stay if she does?*”
“I'll be right here.”
He calls for the ghoulette and she happily bounces in, her new bracelets jingling as she goes.
“Ready for the best hair wash of your whole life?” She wiggles the shampoo and conditioner bottles out for him to see.
He can't help but laugh, especially when Dew rolls his eyes playfully at her.
Dew sits up on the counter while she stands beside the tub, getting his hair wet and gently working the shampoo through his hair. He shuts his eyes and sighs.
She smiles as he relaxes under her hands, she can tell he's slipping, her quintessence isn't super strong but she can feel it.
“Is that ok, love?”
He nods slowly, his movements heavy with sleepy laziness. She continues the process until it's over and he's not sure he can even stand now.
Mountain moves in to help, wrapping him in a towel once he safely lifts him from the tub.
“There ya go, we got you something to wear.” He slides his own shirt over Perpetua's shoulders, it lands at his knees and he giggles a bit. Dew gives him a pair of his sweats and as silly as it may seem, it makes him feel like maybe he belongs, like this is them saying he really is part of the pack.
Cirrus dries his hair, rubbing gentle fingers through his curls and Phantom sits close beside him, holding his hand. Tempest continues setting up the nest with Rain, both laughing together as they talk.
It feels like home. Like a hole in his soul is finally filled. He's got a home.
Once his hair is dry, Mountain carries him to the bed and lays him in the middle while they all gather around him. They purr and paw at the blankets until they are comfortable, Phantom even spins in place a few times before he settles and Perpetua giggles.
They tuck him in, making sure he's warm and cozy. He's never felt more comfortable in all his life. He finds himself wishing Copia was there too. He'll call him tomorrow to talk about everything but for now he lets his mind slip finally and he snuggles closer to Dew.
“Comfy?”
He nods with sleepy eyes. “Dew?”
His voice is soft and a barely there whisper. “Yes?”
“Thank you….thank all of you.”
They all smile at the sweet voice and sentiment. Dew kisses the top of his head.
I also read V as a massive romantic, but not in a suave Casanova way like Terzo or a womanizer like Secondo... but rather in an intense, obsessive, overwhelming way?
He's a softer type of guy then you'd expect given his appearance and role, a genuinely sensitive guy, a romantic gentleman... but with a deeply repressed possessive streak that he tries very hard to maintain.
I can see him being an obsessive type when he's not careful, who's very self-aware of his intense tendencies. He strikes me as someone who's had a very tumultuous love life, who's accidentally gone too far quite a few times and has scared away many partners. The type who gets so lost in the sauce romantically that he'll look a red flag right in the eye, shrug, and think it's worth it just for it to bite him in the ass later.
Don’t mind me, I’ll just be on this bus, staring out the window as I think about how the Papa with the most emotionally-rooted album is also the one who wears a mask as part of his persona. Where we can picture Papas 0-4 as complete and entire people because we are meant to see them as regular people wearing face paint, the appearance of Perpetua makes use of both paint and a mask to obscure his true face. He connects with the human experience but at a distance, still hiding away his complete self.
