i gave up on the contemporary YA romance 50 pages in not even because it was cringe i could've handled that the problem is the whole premise is based on the protagonist lying and then continuing to dig their own grave over the course of the book and i just can't deal with that. i know the book wouldn't exist without the lie but come onnnn you could've come clean from the start
