There is no actual, tangible reason why we allow people to starve, to be homeless, to suffer and die needlessly. Food is plentiful. Empty homes are plentiful. Medicine is plentiful. It’s hidden away behind constructs and we pretend those constructs mean something. There is an empty home and a homeless family, give them it. There is a sick child and common medicine to treat it, give it to them. There is a starving person and so much food wasted by corporations or hidden behind a dollar sign, feed them.

I’m really glad you finally found at least an ounce of logic! Pregnancy is preventable, but sometimes the methods we use to prevent it fail. Just like when you take the risk of eating that Whopper, you try to chew in small bites so you don’t choke—but sometimes you’re eating in the car, hit a bump in the road, and a huge chunk of your sandwich goes down the wrong pipe.

So…….. yes, pregnancy, like many other risks associated with existing on planet earth as human beings, is preventable. But just because something can be prevented does not mean that you are immediately denied rights and care if your prevention fails for some reason.

Just like one of the other comments said earlier, medicine exists primarily to heal humans from things they may have done to themselves (ex: lung cancer from smoking, there is treatment for that! And nobody is going to deny you the right to seek medical care if you have lung cancer because you’ve been smoking two packs of cigarettes a day for thirty years).

So, you’re really just kind of running in circles around an age old argument that’s been debunked a million times.

People get pregnant by accident sometimes, and they need access to abortion care if they are unable or unwilling to carry their pregnancy to term. Just because a pregnancy may have been conceived during consensual sex does not mean that others get to deny the pregnant person of their right to bodily autonomy.

Also it’s dangerous to try to apply your experiences to anyone else’s and especially so to use your experiences to try to influence the decisions of others. Like seriously have you ever worked with a human being in your life? Have you ever had to be on a team? You’d be surprised what people don’t know or what they may be misinformed about and you really don’t know what they experienced for that to happen, so how about not throwing blame around wontonly and worse, stop trying to punish people (with a child no less!!) based on your sanctimonious worldview.
