Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.

If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

23rd of July

After a plane flight to Heathrow and an hour long tube ride to London’s city centre, we finally were able to properly get our trip started! (Also saw an ad that made me giggle, trust me I don’t need any product to turn my day fruity 💅)

We first went to Leicester square where I met Darth Vader and showed him Tiny Moff Yarnkin ofc and also the most important statue of them all, Paddington!! Also had to do the ‘Alas poor Yorick’ with Shy Guy in front of the Shakespeare statue, I am an English undergraduate after all 🤭

I’ve also taken a small sketchbook with me and Paddington is my first travel sketch to be added to it!

Then I found a video store where I spotted my beloved Cushy on one of the walls and squeed accordingly! Found some great films for my collection such as Corruption and I, Monster!

I then found some great goodies at the Forbidden Planet (Yarnkin endorsed the Imperial Handbook of course! Also HOLY SHIT THIS TAROT DECK IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.)

I’m now resting at our accomodation from a rather tiring but super exciting day! 😊

Now am I getting myself into another Hammer Husbands rarepair? Absolutely. However just hear me out… yaoi so strong that it undoes petrification.

(I personally hc that Namaroff mistakes his feelings towards Carla as romantic while he actually feels paternal towards her because he is actually gay. Also Meister needs to fuck him roughly up the ass to put him in his place after the shit he pulled.)

So the way that I read Namaroff’s behaviour is that he’s gay but suffering from internalised homophobia and projects the paternal feelings he feels for Carla onto this and mistakes them for romantic attraction which is why he is so weird with her. Him and Meister have a past before the film’s events and he had a major crush on Meister but because of his repression he lashed out at him and Meister ended their friendship over his behaviour. When Meister finds his petrified body after the end of the film he admits to the feelings he had for Namaroff as well and kisses him, bringing him back but not without traces of petrification (hair turned grey and pale skin) staying behind. Namaroff is very sulky after this, feeling horrible for what happened to Carla and blaming himself, but not really acting on these feelings appropriately so it mostly results in him wallowing in self pity. Meister wants to help him but he also doesn’t have patience for Namaroff’s sulking.
