Inspiration was flowing while I was resting up this evening so… I thought I’d write some stuff for my Gorgon AU! It’s only a start and the first person perspective is not something I do often, so it’s a bit more experimental than my usual writing style as I write from Namaroff’s perspective. It’s short but I thought this was a good moment to cut it since the next part will require a perspective change…
(Most bits of this drabble are relatively canon-accurate… it’s what happens after that introduces the AU concept properly.)

Indeed, it was only for a fraction of a second that I dared to gaze into the foul creature’s eyes. The moment felt insignificantly short, but at the same time it was… an eternity.
I hear my voice cry out in anguish, but it is almost as if I am being torn from my body. The pain is excruciating as my limbs harden, I lose my balance, and tumble down the stairs of Castle Borski. My body is crying out in anguish.
…My spirit feels nothing.
Everything becomes a blur as I realise that my fingers are no longer moving. They are permanently stuck in a tormented and tense state, and that is how they will remain until the statue that I will become crumbles to dust.
My face contorts into an expression of raw terror, and my heart ceases to beat.
Every sound becomes a mere echo. I hear Carla’s young suitor scream out as well. It is at least a comfort that he will not live to revel in his triumph over me, I suppose.
…All of a sudden, I hear a different set of footsteps.
My blade, which had been dropped to the ground by me moments ago, being picked up… and tissue being sliced through.
Snakes hissing, before their hellish snarls fade into nothingness.
I am almost completely petrified by now. My lungs exhale their final breath.

The one thing about gender is that frankly my ideal gender situation has very little to do with me and infinitely more to do with everyone else on the earth who cannot be fuuuuuuuuucking cool about anything ever
Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.
If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

OMG these guys were so obnoxious with their dad jokes 🤦🏼♀️ no wonder they loved each other.

Ok now I get it. You’d think Tarkin loved TK-421 cuz he’s so beautiful. Nah the truth is Tarkin fell for him cuz for some reason TK-421 genuinely thought his dad jokes were really funny 🤣
After a plane flight to Heathrow and an hour long tube ride to London’s city centre, we finally were able to properly get our trip started! (Also saw an ad that made me giggle, trust me I don’t need any product to turn my day fruity 💅)
We first went to Leicester square where I met Darth Vader and showed him Tiny Moff Yarnkin ofc and also the most important statue of them all, Paddington!! Also had to do the ‘Alas poor Yorick’ with Shy Guy in front of the Shakespeare statue, I am an English undergraduate after all 🤭
I’ve also taken a small sketchbook with me and Paddington is my first travel sketch to be added to it!
Then I found a video store where I spotted my beloved Cushy on one of the walls and squeed accordingly! Found some great films for my collection such as Corruption and I, Monster!
I then found some great goodies at the Forbidden Planet (Yarnkin endorsed the Imperial Handbook of course! Also HOLY SHIT THIS TAROT DECK IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.)
I’m now resting at our accomodation from a rather tiring but super exciting day! 😊
