Happy Heavenly Birthday, Peter Cushing
Happy Birthday in Heaven to a true gentleman of horror, Peter Cushing who would have turned 113 years old today.
Happy birthday to my absolute favourite horror icon of all time!! I had to make some pieces for Cushingās birthday because he and his films have made such an impact on my life and I cannot be more thankful for it.
Oh! And for my super old followers, I made Wil and Sev(Grand Moff Tarkin and his canon stormtrooper boyfriend, TK-421(I call him Sevastian/Sev)) in Tomodachi Life during the race today! You can also draw pets in the game so of course I gave Sev his mouse droid(I used the lego mouse droid model because I cannot draw well).
I have my MSE-6 and Men family <3. Sev is so smitten with G7. Usagi from Sailor Moon was not a fan when I gave her hand drawn ugly Luna but Sev? That's his buddy.
I've always seen my Sev with curly hair that's like looks a bit blond or brown depending on the light(Or time of year/sunlight exposure). This was the best of the hair selection colors. Not the biggest fan but also!! Look at him!!! That's my maintenance trooper!!! He's an outgoing adventurer/go getter and the description for the trait is just why Wil fell for him(I preselect all my traits). And yes I had to give him the garage room because maintenance trooper who wants to be a droid racer <3
I planned to make Tarkin dress all preppy but then I saw this sweater and I was like. Eriadu cabin vibes. He has some preppy tops I can cycle through if I want but nothing fits like this one. Sev's outfit might change. His room is all dark marble and gives Empire vibes and he's an ambitious visionary because Tarkin.
They hit off quicker than any other pair in the game I feel. They're "real world partners" because no way they're falling for anyone else. I just... Love these three so deeply in my bones. One of my OTPs of all OTPs.
When youāre grumpy but three men all love you very dearly š¤
Guess what I got myself for May 4th? Yeap, the Hot Toys Tarkin! ššš
(No Vader tho š thatās why I got it cheap)
All my contemplating Tarkin collection so far (was he thinking about TK-421 or the lunch menu? IDK š)
Tarkin inspects his loyal Death Star. You may fire when ready š
Bonus: the only right thing to do when you get some super realistic action figures š¤£š¤£š¤£
Iāll see myself out⦠š
Turned out Tarkinās ISD Executrix was created in Legends by none other than James Luceno š of all the names one could give to a ship, was it a pure coincidence that a feminine counterpart of Vaderās ship was picked by the only Legends author to depict a respectful and mutually beneficial relationship between Vader and Tarkin when everyone else was aiming for nothing but hostility, the same author who wrote his first Canon book around the idea of Palps playing matchmaker for these two? š¤ I think the answer is very clear:
James Luceno is Palpatine.
James Luceno is secretly the original Vadarkin shipper 𤣠he invented the ship (pun intended).

Some Peter Cushing sketches for @birbwell
A Dark Lord of the Sith and his gay friend !
I kinda hate Tarkin, but I wanted to bring Vader along with him, and the black and white fits them both, so⦠hope you guys enjoy it!
Anyway, next pair might or might not be Kylux ;)
Made 08/09/26
Imperial diva energy š š»
Legoās being⦠Lego and cutting corners on their most expensive set so I took matters into my own hands. Now Leiaās a Disney princess again. Yularen found his black pants. And every senior Imperial officer has to follow the shoe rules (Tarkinās not very amused š”).
Unfortunately you canāt play Frankenstein with these newer versions of 6 bucks keychains. I learned it the hard way š¢
inspiring obi wan quotes for intellectuals to ponder.
weāve all heard āIf you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagineā and āThe truth is often what we make of itā, but I bet you are unfamiliar with these gems.
gosh this is why we read Star Wars books
PETER CUSHING on playing Grand Moff Tarkin in carpet slippers
They hadnāt got time to have my boots made for me, which is usually the case, because of my large feet, so I had to do with a pair out of stock. Now there I was, on the first day of shooting, this very, very cross, unpleasant gentleman, Grand Moff Tarkin, stomping around, and it was agony, it really was.
So the next day I said to dear George Lucas, the director, I said, āGeorge, I am not asking for close ups, but do you think you could shoot me from the waist upwards from now on?ā And he said āWhy,ā and I explained the reasons, so he said āOh, all right,ā and he gave me a pair of carpet slippers.
So for the rest of the film I stomped around looking extremely angry, very cross, with that dear little Carrie Fisher, as Grand Moff Tarkin in carpet slippers!
Given that Tarkin designed his own imperial uniform I bet he also made pink fluffy bunny slippers part of the standard imperial uniform š
Pathetic life forms
Some things never changes.
(I know nothing of SW animals/plants, so sorry for making it up lol) (except for like, one or two species)
I mean Obi-Wan āthe Masters were surprised anyone was willing to take me on as an apprentice" Kenobi kinda fits the description too š
in honor of the fact that Christopher Lee has choked Peter Cushing a grand total of three times on screen (that I know of lol)
I want Eriadu during the Tarkin era to be like 18th century Russia where the assimilationist policies of the Tarkins are enforced in really annoying ways. I'm talking a beard tax, I'm talking WAY too much Coruscanti influence on architecture, I'm talking centuries-old buildings being knocked down, I'm talking Eriaduans from the lowlands being looked down on by the Eriaduans of the mountains like the Russians of the West looked down on the Russians of the East.
I want to see the gradual disappearance of fur hats and long heavy coats in favor of Core styles. I want Jova Tarkin to be the outlier, to feel like he's the final frontier against the softness of Coruscanti life with his big beard and attunement to the natural world, and I want people of the lowlands to recognize him as a transplant, a colonizer who CHOSE to immerse himself in the dangerous landscape rather than having to adapt to it from the first time the land was settled. I want there to be pushback against Tarkin from people of all socioeconomic backgrounds who are proud of their culture, who want to remain unique, and I want some people to take that too far to a nationalist scale to the point where there are two extremes and some Eriaduans are just tired of the bullshit and want to get on with their lives.
I want culture to be an ongoing battle on Eriadu, because the Tarkin family's obsession with adopting the clothing and aesthetics of the Core is fascinating to me and I wonder what Eriadu was like before all that, ESPECIALLY before Wilhuff's parents were born, because they seem to be the most adamant about being like Coruscanti nobility.
And finally, I want to know whether Wilhuff Tarkin himself would tend more toward the older Eriaduan traditions or if he's looking toward something entirely new and different.
You do get to see the old Eriadu in the High Republic Adventure comics. The Tarkins, while were essentially treated like the royalty there, honestly didnāt stand out from the crowd with their rather plain attires. I guess it makes sense why the future generations started to assimilate into the Core style now that they had a taste of galactic spotlight and the destruction of the Eriadu City provided them with a pretty clean canvas to work with.
