There certainly is such a thing as being "overqualified" for a specific dating pool.
If you often find yourself outsmarting, outaccomplishing, outlooking, etc. Your peers and the people around you, chances are you are too good for them in a romantic way. There's nothing wrong with admitting that.
You're putting all the work to better yourself physically, intellectually, financially, and spiritually, so it makes sense that you're not a good fit for those who aren't willing to do the same. You are indeed overqualified to be with them and you don't owe any further explanations.
