It's sad because I like the dreadful plush series and I had also loved/played American McGee's Alice series (that being Madness returns). And as mentioned before, I actually brought the pansexual rabbit plush (which I still have to this day and still adored) and I was thinking about buying the transgender plush as well as the Autism plushie but that's obviously changed after learning from POTD (Plush Of The Day) that that guy was problematic for calling Pansexual a trend/phase.

I’m honestly so done with this company. It feels like it preyed on the fact that neurodivergent people hyperfixated on them so whenever the company did something bad, ND people would be willing to let it slide because they loved the plushies so much. This is a company that was quite literally inches away from donating to an ABA therapy charity for their AUTISM rabbit, and the only thing that stopped them was a full out boycott of their merch and video games. The fact people continue to say they weren’t in the wrong when the evidence is readily available baffles me.

Random reminder that I HATE Plushie Dreadful!! Those mental illness/disabilities plushes? Typically rabbits? There's been a lot of criticism over them about ableism in the past. Personal feelings about disorders being marketed, formerly partnering with Autism Speaks, etc. But one thing people don't seem to notice is the ableism towards schizophrenics, narcissists, and antisocials! This site with a bunch of beautifly designed rabbit stuffed animals decided to make the schizophrenic and antisocial plushes noticably creepier than most others. The antisocial one at the very least came out cuter than the concept art. But the schizophrenic one is openly based on serial killers. And NPD? The official Twitter account made a poll about what the design should be, made degrading comments about narcissists, and liked comments by people making fun of narcissists. In the end, in order to not make the npd plush TOO special or unique looking, made it a plain brown rabbit with a paper crown (openly saying it's because pwnpd aren't actually special or deserving of a real one). When contacted by pwnpd with criticism/feedback, like they say they accept, they ignored it

It doesn't matter what it says on the website. They also say that they listen to feedback from people with these disorders, but the reality is they don't. People with these disorders were NOT consulted and comments and dms about the ableism involved in those plushes were mostly ignored. Even if the designs themselves weren't ableist, the owner/founder of Plushie Dreadful and whoever runs their Twitter/X account IS and liked posts by and engaged with people making harmful comments about the groups of people they were supposed to be representing
