of course thirteen is terrified of feeling anything for yaz. she was told by time that her song is coming to an end. she knows she will die soon, and she has to hope that whatever kills her won't kill yaz as well. and even then - if she regenerates and yaz is alright - she has no idea who is on the other side. she knows that her regeneration will hurt yaz and their relationship, perhaps irreparably, even if yaz is physically okay. she knows everything is going to change, and soon, and she's terrified of loving, or being loved, because things almost never go right for her.

Remember when they first announced Dan as a new companion and we were all pissed because we though he was only there to be a cockblock to thasmin? he ACTUALLY TURNED OUT TO BE YAZ'S VERY SUPPORTIVE WINGMAN and I am so happy it turned out that way

she knows how she feels about yaz, but after rose and river and knowing that her time is coming to an end, she must feel so helpless and scared of hurting yaz’s feelings (and her own too) that she rather pushes her away and isn’t really honest with her
