You took no time to process what had happened, hearing the sound of a thud and crash as Kido fled towards the other room. His place was so small, you could heard everything. Instead of calling out you bolted towards the room, curious as to why he suddenly fled. Sure he was always timid and tried to escape your advances when you came on too strong, but this, this wasn’t like him.
Feet carried you over towards his bed, as you were able to hear him yet not see him upon entering. Was he on the other side perhaps? You’d look regardless and to no surprise, you found him, fumbling with the phone as more smoke continued to pour from his mouth. Your first assumption was right, he wasn’t a normal human. But then, what was he? Demon? Half Human? You wouldn’t be against dating him regardless of that. So why did he run away?
Bringing your hand close to you, brows rose in concern even more as you heard the soft tone of a older man through the small speaker. Lisp or not, you had questions that needed to be answered. “–Kido, babe? Whath going on? You can tell me, I won’t freak I promithe…but I gotta athk firth, how long ith thith gonna lath, you know the numb thing .”
“--W-Why are you l-laughing?” came your voice. This was before Memory came rushing into your room. You--now sitting in a crouched position on the floor--held the phone up to your ear with trembling fingers. “D-Didn’t you hear me? I m-messed up! I started spewing s-smoke everywhere a-and--huh?” You paused for the moment--if only to hear your grandfather better.
He mentioned something very questionable (and embarrassing) so, naturally, you screamed out. “--I C-CAN’T T-T-TALK ABOUT THAT!” was your reply.
Your grandfather wasn’t a bad person--not at all! His bad habit of teasing you at the worst times made you sometimes question that, however.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand now Memory was her. Awesome.
Her sudden appearance caught you off guard, and you ended up dropping your phone. It fell to the floor as if consumed by some sort of slow motion machine.
You were cornered. Literally. There was nowhere else for you to run. Memory was standing in the way--and it wasn’t like you’d shove her out of the way. “--W-Well,” you stammered. “It’s c-complicated. It d-d-depends. I wouldn’t know! Y-You’re the first h-human I’ve ever k-k-kissed like that.”
No reason beating around the bush anymore. She’d either not believe you, or call you a freak.
