I saw this draw your OTP prompt thing and I had to jump at the opportunity
❝Randall... where are you?❞
ᒥ ♦Լ♦ ᒧ He paced back and forth through the living room, a stern frown on his face. It had been several weeks since Randall’s sudden disappearance, and Hershel couldn’t help but worry. It wasn’t like Randall to not rave about where he was going, or, at the very least, inform Hershel at least ten times.
❝Why haven’t you come home?❞
ᒥ ♦Լ♦ ᒧ Of course, he was trying his best not to make a scene. After all, Luke was home, and sitting in the room with him, silently staring at the small gift he had left on the table. Randall had, in his absence, missed their anniversary without even so much as a call. That only worried the professor more. With a small, agitated sigh he added, fear shaking him to the core;
❝It’s unbecoming to make a gentleman worry...❞

i rlly like luke and laytons relationship??? kinda reminds me of a protective dad and his son but it’s so cute
do you guys see this shit?
Welcome Home
[Luke]
He threw his bag on the ground as he burst in, then he stopped and hung it up.
“Profes- I mean, Dad! Look!” He waved a piece of paper in the air, almost oblivious to what the professor had said. “It’s a perfect grade! I studied really hard for this test, and look!”
❝Ah, Luke, that’s absolutely wonderful.❞
ᒥ ♦Լ♦ ᒧ He didn’t think a day went by that Luke didn’t make him prouder than he could have ever imagined. There was no father in the world as proud of their son as he was of Luke, he could be sure. But a perfect grade, that’s amazing. He had sacrificed a lot of puzzle time with Layton to study for this. It warmed Hershel’s heart to see Luke’s hard work pay off.
❝I think this calls for a celebration.❞
ᒥ ♦Լ♦ ᒧ There was no question what Luke would want to celebrate with. Hershel hardly thought tea time would be appropriate for the young lad after such an accomplishment. He’d put the tea on hold for puzzle time later in the evening. For now, he stood up, and with a tip of the top hat he asked;
❝Why don’t we go for dinner?❞
So as you all know, the spot of Hershel on this blog, and (I believe) Luke on ParentalPuzzler have been filled in. I’ve now discovered the positions will be permanent, as the old mun of these muses will not be returning to the RP community anytime soon, or into the same fandoms. This means that I’m now also on the look for a “Phoenix Wright-Edgeworth” and a “Randall Layton/Randall Ascot” to fill in the roles for pompousprosecution’s Phoenix and parentalpuzzler/twentypicarats’ Randall. If you’re interested, or know anyone who is, please contact me ♥ I’d be very pleased to see anyone interested
Welcome Home
--{♦}-- A tip of the hat and a sip of tea. Another fine puzzle solved by a gentleman of the utmost wit. Logical thinking is the key to success. Of course, he had spent his entire afternoon solving one after the other, with his signature cup of earl grey by his side. Of course, he was merely waiting for his apprentice to arrive home from school.
--{♦}-- Well, he hears apprentice, but recently that’s been a tad less the focus. It was barely 3 years ago now, the untimely demise of the young lad’s parents in an unfortunate fire. Hershel had only just barely managed to rescue the scared young boy from the blazing inferno before the entire house collapsed. Since this incident, Layton has taken him in as his own, preparing an extra bedroom for the younger in hopes of making him more comfortable.
--{♦}-- And finally, as of a few months ago, his adoption papers had finally gone through, and he became the legal guardian and step father of the orphaned boy. It finally seemed like he was getting over his emotional distress over the situation, enough to add Hershel’s ‘Layton’ name as a hypenation to the end of his own.
--{♦}-- Luke Triton-Layton, what a name. A name that couldn’t leave the professor any prouder of his young son. And honestly, it was nice to have the documentation on paper, despite Layton having considered Luke a son of his own since they first began their adventures together. That document was just the reassurance Hershel needed that his precious son wouldn’t be taken away from him.
--{♦}-- And finally he heard the sound of the door swinging open, and footsteps entering the house. Hershel rose from his seat, moving to greet his son.
“Ah, Luke. Welcome home. I’ve put tea on, if you’re interested.”
“I truly don’t know if I can recall the last time I could just sit around and concentrate on preparing my lectures. With Luke off travelling with Randall the house is rather quiet. It’s almost a tad... boring.”
Ugh "Alright Professor." Hopefully this won’t last very long.
“Would you like me to put tea on? It’s near tea time anyways.”
"Well, I guess you can help me some, but I still want to do as much as I can."
"Luke it's my duty as your mentor, and your friend, to assist you as much as I can."

"I appreciate it Professor, but I can still do a lot of things by myself, honest!"
"Luke I cannot sit idly by and allow you to struggle. It is my duty as a gentleman to assist you. Besides, how else will you solve puzzles without me reading them out to you?"
Even though he couldn’t see, he could hear the worry in the Professor’s voice. "Y-yeah, I am. But don’t worry Professor! It’s not permanent!"
"But... you're blind Luke... I can't just sit here and not worry, it's unbecoming of a gentleman to not feel concerned for those he's close to! I'll assist you until you recover!"
"Well, erm, actually… it’s a funny story. There was a grey person with sunglasses and now I can’t see anything." Somehow he knew the Professor wasn’t going to laugh.
"Luke you don't mean what I think you do, do you?"
[♦] He knelt down before the other, gently grabbing his cheeks to stop him from moving as he looked into his eyes... yeah, glazed over, clouded, and unfocused;
"Y-you're blind, aren't you?"
