Mercenary business is delivering on its implicit promise ---- there’s a pretty impressive body count, for ten minutes’ work out here.  ‘I think I’ll tell mother that we’ve been GARDENING.’  There’s even a decent metaphor about plucking weeds to be found there, and maybe they can blame cuts on scratches on a very zealous rosebush.

whispers ... how are u all doing ?? hope everyone is well. i’ve been uhh... lurking in the tokyo ghoul fandom, so i guess if anyone has blogs in modern fandoms and wants to head over here, that’s where i can be found while I don’t have much muse for dragon age (though hopefully when i go home & finish inquisition, i’ll get some inspiration back and pick up again~) Cheers, and happy holiday wishes etc. !!

;w; sorry I haven’t been around much! been super busy with my stupid latin class, plus i had to start an essay, and being a really smart person i decided i also had time for two sports teams this year. which overall means i have been taking more naps lately as well. i can be chased down on skype if anyone needs me!

The stone wall she’d just walked into is glaring down at her, and unless she’s very much mistaken she’s just offended him a little. 

“No.”  She says, heat rising in her cheeks despite her attempts to will it away. Curse the Rutherford ancestors and their traitorous fair skin. “I mean no I’m not hurt. But I suppose also you could infer that I don’t think you smell.”  Maker, Mia, stop talking! 

“Uh. I’m sorry for running into you.”  She squints ruefully up at him, realizing for the first time how imposing he is. She shifts back half a step, trying out a glare of her own. “That is unless you’re about to try and rob me in which case I should start by saying that I don’t have anything worth taking and end by informing you that I am very good shin kicking. So. Maybe reconsider.” 

   That’s... that’s all very good, Hawke supposes. He’s about to offer an apology accepted, except now the woman’s threatening him, and ---- 

  He inhales sharply, a greatly exaggerated sound. ‘Shin-kicking! I couldn’t tell you how many fine robbers have been defeated by a good shin-kicking. Happened to my own uncle.’ ... Probably. Maybe not as part of a robbery, though if Gamlen were to start up with petty thievery ---- and Hawke wouldn’t put it past him at this point ---- he’d certainly be slowed down by a well-placed boot. 

   The greaves that Hawke wears are more likely to cause the girl to break her toe if she dares try it, so he lowers his head in deference and quickly throws up his hands. 'Looks like you’ll be safe from robberies for a little while longer, though I can’t promise everyone around here’s as CAUTIOUS as I am. Maybe threaten the kneecaps instead of the shins for the next fellow?’

i should tell you guys about my warden someday. my surana warden who started the game trying to help jowan and honestly the rest of his poor choices can probably be traced back to that stunted friendship they had. anyway he left leliana & sten in lothering and let everyone die rather than doing quests for the chantry. also he ended up killing the whole circle and letting the templars take over because he fucked that quest up so badly. then he let connor guerrin die because he ceebs to go into the fade, and that’s how warden surana ended up with only 1 friend left.  ( but he did manage to set up the chantry in orzammar. quoted as saying ‘i did it for the vine’ )

Confess! //Breaking vases leads to drinking apparently..

confessions.

   Without a doubt, the atmosphere is strange, but what’s to be expected from a night of quietly drinking with the man whose house —- whose very nice house —- you’ve let yourself into, with the intention of stealing from them? He’s interesting; Hawke will give the fellow that much. Intimidating, too, and evidently some kind of war commander, but he’s talked of far too many people named Fin, or Fan.  ( So much, in fact, that Hawke has designed a little game of it; for each Fin, it’s a sip of the strong liquor they’re sharing, which in fact he’s going to have to get ahold of before he heads home ). 

So either the drink is very potent, or he’s got a lot to say about fish, or some awful combination of the two. Things look fuzzy. There’s a ringing in Hawke’s ears when the conversation lulls. 

‘I murdered someone,’ he offers during one of those lulls, and the part of him that isn’t completely overcome by liquor hopes that he’s judged the stranger correctly as someone who’s maybe committed a murder or two in his life. Otherwise it’s going to seem utterly misplaced.
