Coup de foudre means actually, bolt of lightning [Parrish and Kira]
Kira was out in the woods for the day. Since the nogitsune thing she was torn between hiding in her bedroom and trying to practice her kitsune powers, especially the lightning bending. It made her feel safer somehow. That’s why now, when it was cloudy and the air was heavy with electricity and with the humid air of a oncoming storm she was out, only wearing a big, grey hoodie and a pair of jeans, trying to call the lightning to her.
Of course this didn’t worked as good and smooth as she would’ve liked. A few times she managed to call a few sparks, but that’s it. She tries to remember what her mother taught her, about concentration and control. She closed her eyes, breathed deeply and imagined the lightning in her palms.
She actually felt her hands warming up, and she opened her eyes, holding back a victorious scream, looking at the electricity and lightning glowing in her hands. Kira was so happy in that moment.
Patrols weren't usually on the top of Parrish's favorite thing to do on the job, but then again, he would take anything as long as it means avoiding the dullness of paperwork. Usually, night patrols were much more preferred over ones in broad daylight, since normally, danger only crept up when the sky is blackened. However, nothing is considered 'normal' when it comes to Beacon Hills, and after many unforgettable incidents - bombs and otherwise - the county decided constant patrols would be an necessity.
After encircling most of the south part of the town, Parrish was left with the woods to finish off and go home. It was almost night time, and for once, he escaped the all mighty night shift, and he was fairly looking forward to leftover turkey and seven hours of (hopefully) uninterrupted sleep.
Walking around in the woods, everything seemed normal, until he heard a scream. It was nothing quite alarming, more of a happy one than anything else, but checking up would reassure his mind. Plus, since it was getting dark, he should better aware them of the fact and send them home. Marching toward the sound's source, he saw a young teen, obviously female, back faced toward him. He vaguely recalled that Kira was her name, one of Stiles' ever growing group of friends.
"Excuse me, but it is getting fairly late, and I think you should- Oh my god!" Close enough to peek, Parrish stared at the glowing electricity that was being held steady in between her hands. He simply couldn't believe his eyes; the bolt glowing neatly, without even hurting her, as if she was perfectly in control of it. "Are you - what in the world - how do you even do that?"
