As Seren finished up with her last buckle she froze. Why could she hear Sinbad talking? Oh noâŠThere was another voice too. She opened the door and her eyes widened seeing Sinbad standing with her rooms door wide open⊠naked. There was not a whole lot she could do now, if she came out of nowhere and slammed the door then Hina would know that there was a naked Sinbad in her room and SHE had been the one to close the doors. So that wouldnât work. âSerenâs just getting dressed.â Great now they knew she was also naked in some capacity. This really did not look good for her.Â
However, the door closed and Seren emerged from behind the slightly opened door. Disregarding the other wedding traditions. âSinbad! What on earth are you doing? People are going to assume the worst!â Her face was flushed, was she even allowed to wear white now? Could something like this hurt a claim to the throne? Then again she was marrying him so it was not like there was another suitor in the mix. Perhaps she was just overthinking. Seren rubbed her forehead for a moment before looking back at Sin, however without clothes she was a bit⊠distracted. She grabbed a piece of his clothing throwing it at him, âCome on you said we would be down in a bit, you canât go down like that.â
How on earth was she going to face Hiina? had he already told everyone else? She was sure her deceased royal ancestors were rolling in their graves. She sat down on the edge of the bed waiting on Sin to get ready, âSinbad,â The was a hint of softness in her tone when she spoke, âSince you remember⊠what actually happened.â It was a bit embarrassing to admit that she had been drunk enough to not remember their evening.Â
@highseaskxngâ
âAssume the worst?? Hinahoho?? No, he knows when Iâm just joking, besides these are my allies, aside from the newly added Sharrkan and Masrur these people are my closest friends. Weâve had years to develop quite a bond that would transcend anything especially moments like these where nothing happened.â He said with a smile on his face whilst having absolute faith in his comrades that theyâd understand what had happened. âIâm sure Jaâfar would analyze the situation, realize how much of a hopeless klutz I am when Iâm drunk then add to the fact that youâre extremely proud and powerful and heâll deduce that all we did was just sleep, nude but slept nonetheless.âÂ
Slowly he began dressing himself, wearing everything save for his azure coat, that he wore over his shoulders considering they were about to share a meal with his companions. âWell before sleeping I was rowdy per usual, I vaguely remember you telling me that this isnât the way for a future king to behave. Even drunk you were pretty much a princess. I then came up to you, watched you deep into your eyes and invited you to my quarters so you can teach me ways to behave. You were hesitant, you blushed but maybe it was the influence of the alcohol or perhaps it was even the way my eyes glimmered in the moonlight but you agreed and came back here with me to teach me royal etiquette. Then throughout the lesson you were like âShin-bad you canât be a king dressed like that..remove those garments. I will not have my husband to-be wear the robes of a commoner.â Something along those lines and you began to strip me, then I said we might as well both be naked so you let me strip you and upon realizing the situation I think you fainted and weâve been asleep ever since.â
Serendine supposed it was a blessing that Sinbad was such a klutz when it came to him being drunk. As long as it did not spread to those outside Sinbad's circles things should remain alright. The last thing they needed was for outside forces to get ideas for another coup. Plus there really was not much she could do now except pray that Sinbadâs faith was not misplaced. âIâm trusting you Sinbad.â It felt as though she was saying that a lot, even if most of the times it was in her head. Part of her would always be annoyed with how much this man had gotten under her skin.
As Sinbad recounted the night it definitely did sound like her to lecture him on proper etiquette. She raised a brow though, âDid you retain any of the lesson though? Iâm sure it was all still legitimate even if I was under the influence.â Serendine narrowed her eyes a bit at his clothing, âI was certainly right about those being commoner clothes we really will have to fix that at some point.â She purposely excluded the fainting bit because that was just embarrassing. She sighed before moving across the room to him. She frowned a little noticing his hair all over the place. Serendine shook her head, âHold still.â She gently ran her hand through his hair so it was not a tangled mess and carefully pulled it into his normal ponytail he seemed to always be wearing. âThere now you look more presentable.âÂ
highseaskxngâ:â
Everyone save for Drakon gave Seren such a look, she was the princess and yet things like that were happening under her nose, it was her job to look after her people but from what Sinbad had told them about his own experience in Parthevia at the time it seemed they were more interested in their stupid war and winning the favor of the dungeon that had appeared. However, Sinbad stood up for the woman he would soon one day call wife. âYouâre all judging her too hard, and then take a few steps forward before getting in the way of their vision of her by standing directly in front of Serendine. âFrom what Iâm here now the man is pretty crafty..sure I might not know him personally but even Drakon, his little brother had no idea of the manâs secret plans. IF they ARE true then heâs crafty enough to keep things perfectly well-hidden. So, the question is..in an attempt to prevent an all-out war with Parthevia I suggest we sneak into the land and confirm these rumors with our own eyes.â
Sinbad said, always the one to come up with a plan, though one so bold by the looks of his friendâs face. Slowly he turned to face the princess, his face serious before crossing his arms over his chest. âThough, since youâve just managed to get your hands on a metal vessel I suggest we let the little magi train you. Then once youâre ready Iâm taking YOU with me to Parthevia young lady, after all the two of us would know how to navigate best.â
The shame the young woman felt under all those scorning eyes was unmeasurable. Perhaps if she had questioned more, pushed more then maybe all of this would not have happened. Maybe this was all her fault, if she had stopped for a moment to re-evaluate things in the Kingdom maybe she would have changed her path. But then again things had also been outside her control. Yes, she was a princess but there were also things above her rank. But she still deserved the shame she felt for failing her country. Seren was about to say as much but Sinbad surprisingly came to her defense. She raised her gaze to look at him with surprise. His words werenât wrong but it was still a surprise. There had been more secrets than she had realized at the time. Â
While it was customary to deal with the magis upon acquiring a vessel the thought was still slightly intimidating. Add to the fact that there would be a lot riding on her training added pressure. How long would it take for her to actually be ready to infiltrate the country? They would need her in order to navigate the castle but how long could they actually wait? âHow long do you actually think that will take? Every moment we sit here the people are suffering.â Serendine had been blind before but she was not going to close her eyes now.Â
highseaskxngâ:â
How is it that this battle ready woman was nothing but a flustered mess before him, not that the sight was anything he did not enjoyâŠoh it was an obvious fact that he enjoyed what he saw, he enjoyed the experience of seeing another side of her. Though for the sake of being a gentleman he kept his eyes closed so she could scramble for her clothing, slowly being guided at the frame of the bathroomâs door until he closed behind him so she could go ahead and go looking for her discarded clothing that were left in there. Oh, how insulting for her to close the door as if she didnât trust him NOT to peek whilst she was looking for her clothes.
âSmart girl..Iâd definitely sneak a little peek.â Sinbad expressed silently under his breath as he heard the knock on the door a few moments later, then came the voice of one of his closest friends: Hinahoho. Oh they were looking for him? How thoughtful to know that they were so considerate, Sin thought he might as well just let him know that their search is over. This was just the part of his brain that cares about his subordinates, he didnât think of embarrassment, nor how raunchy this type of scene would be to..well anyone. As nude as the day he was born Sinbad opens the door to allow Hina to know that he was indeed safe and he could rest his head. âNo need to be too worried Hinahoho, Iâm pretty okay.â
Hina looked at Sin.okay he wasnât shocked for the most part..Sinbad always has the tendency to suddenly lose his clothes whenever he gets drunk. What surprised Hina was the fact he was in Serenâs room with no Serendine in sight, whom he assumed was probably too ashamed to meet him considering she might have consummated with Sinbad prior to their official wedding day. âIâm glad to see the two of you are okay..more than okay from the looks of things.â The imuchakk male spoke out. âOh, heh well it was a surprise for me too, just tell the others weâll join you all for breakfast later. Serenâs just getting dressed.â The two then bid their farewell as he then left the room as Sinbad then closed the door.
As Seren finished up with her last buckle she froze. Why could she hear Sinbad talking? Oh no...There was another voice too. She opened the door and her eyes widened seeing Sinbad standing with her rooms door wide open... naked. There was not a whole lot she could do now, if she came out of nowhere and slammed the door then Hina would know that there was a naked Sinbad in her room and SHE had been the one to close the doors. Then again she was marrying him so it was not like there was another suitor in the mix. Perhaps she was just overthinking. Seren rubbed her forehead for a moment before looking back at Sin, however without clothes she was a bit... distracted. She grabbed a piece of his clothing throwing it at him, âCome on you said we would be down in a bit, you canât go down like that.â

@highseaskxngâ
highseaskxngâ:
Okay, she had a point to be concerned about. Sinbad was indeed a wise person, and even mature despite his age but Drakon couldnât deny that often most the man could be insufferable when it came to women..among other things. How did Jaâfar ever survive this for so long?? Either way, his lady was okay, and it was nice to see that at the very least she would not be careless with her training. Though this next action caught him by surprise but when she held him at his finger and pulled him with her towards the camp he found himself thinking of earlier days, itâs when she stopped to look him in the eye that he knew she was thinking back as well.
BUT GODS, did she really have to call him that? âMy lady!!â He spoke in protest, even SCALES couldnât hide the crimson that dusts over his face, it was so embarrassing. Was he really always at her hip? No..he needed to shove such memories from him because they were now among the others. Sinbad looks up at the two and smiles confidently. Making sure not to start talking of their next move until they were in the room with them.
âNow that everyoneâs here we can proceed.â Seren was then given her chance to speak, and she spoke of Barbarossaâs power. âYes, as you recall I spoke of my body and soul being at the brink of death, that was during a time he was only partially equipped. I shudder to think how much my brother has improved since then, youâll need to plan accordingly, a surprise attack is what weâll need.â Spoke Drakon as a suggestion. Sinbad couldnât believe that they were going ahead with this plan, whilst he still wanted to look for land where he could create his country, he couldnât turn his back on the people of Parthevia any longer..especially after what Judar had said. âThereâs also the things that Judar said we have to put into consideration. Serendine, Drakon you were in Parthevia the longestâŠdoes any of what he says ring through for any of you? Can you confirm that he has experimented on my people and turned them into monsters?â
Serendine looked away from the group when the question was turned to her. âConfirm, no. But I heard whispers. I was not allowed to know the full dealings of things.â Deep down Serendine was ashamed for not seeing Barbarossa for what he truly was. Perhaps had she not been so naĂŻve she could have protected her country better. If she had been wiser maybe Drakon wouldnât have ended up sacrificing himself for her. The guilt she felt deep down was a crushing feeling. She had let down her people. Even those who were âcriminalsâ and being experimented on... they were still people.Â
She looked over to Drakon, she doubted her had might inclination to the experimentation as well. He had been lucky enough t o save her but saving everyone else in that moment would have been impossible. As it was Drakon had almost died. Her eyes were still diverted from the rest of the group. She would not blame them at all if they thought she was completely at fault for everything that happened. She should have done more.Â
âIâm sorry. I wish I could give you more information on that.â Would her country even want her back after all of this? After she had failed fighting for them the first time? She did have royal blood but what did that amount to if despite all her venom she had not been able to stop a coup from occurring? No, she couldnât think like this she had just gone through all of the trouble of becoming a Dungeon Capturer. Feeling sorry for herself was not going to get things done.Â
@highseaskxngâ
highseaskxngâ:
His eyes opened wide with curiosity, now all of a sudden she had this sudden burst of energy and even warned that he shouldnât be looking at her now. Oh, he never thought she was that gullible into superstition. But surely enough she frantically placed his hands over his eyes to cover his vision of her. âThis is a shame, I was just getting used to marveling at that lovely figure of yours too.â His tone was too sly, teasing even as he couldnât help but chortle. Honestly, he didnât even know where her clothes were, but still rather hurt that SHE STILL blamed him for this.
âYou were pretty drunk too, last I remember soo, maybe you tossed them somewhere safe.â Spoke Sinbad with darkness STILL being all that he could see because of the young womanâs hands. However he did manage to catch a glimpse of where his clothes were kept before she had done this, he remembered seeing his jacket in one spot..and then his shirt in another..but just then..now that he had time to think he began to remember what happened to her clothes.
Or at the very least where he can suspect them to be. From the back of his mind, he remembered her walking out of the bathroom fully nude and incredibly shy even if she was almost as drunk as he was. âI remembered you walking out of the rest room, you were still definitely clothed once you stepped in. Itâs when you stepped out you were n-â Then came a knock on the door, a rather heavy tap if anything and upon the other side of the door was Hinahoho. âHello? Princess, would Sinbad happen to be in there with you? We canât find him in his own room.â
Had both of her hands not been occupied she probably would have punched Sin for his comment about her body. âi swear youâre impossible sometimes.â Her cheeks were still a bright red. She tried to look around while keeping her eyes over Sinbadâs eyes but she could not for the life of her find her clothes in the line of vision. Seren listened closely to what Sin was saying. And the realization he remembered last night began to dawn on her, whereas it was just black on her end.
The warrior princess was becoming more and more embarrassed by the minute. She released her hold on the blanket and slowly stood up. She paused for a moment before guiding Sin with his eyes closed to the entrance to the bathroom before quickly dropping her hand and running past him so she couldnât see him. She promptly slammed the door as well so he couldnât peak at her scrambling for her clothing.
However, being inside the bathroom and the commotion she was causing within it. Between cursing at herself for drinking too much, cursing as the amount of buckles and strings on her clothing, etc. Serendine did not hear the knock or the voice that followed. She was completely unaware as to how close the two were to being found out.Â

{ what are you the god of? }
Patron of tough love
let it be known: you do not stand by and approve of those who actively seek to hurt the ones they claim to love. but just because it is love, does not mean that it will always be soft. think of how a pack of wolves operate: strategic, deliberate, protective, entirely capable of ripping out throats and still raising their young with a burning love. think of the promise of safety in such a group, but also the devastation, should you betray its loyalty and upheave the order in place. you are the god of temperance, of caretakers, and of all those who must carry the weight of responsibility, even when it threatens to crush them dead. god of bending and enforcing rules, god of fair trial and punishment, god of breaking vicious cycles. protector of older siblings and of soft things needing thicker skin. deliverer of hard-fought clarity in a fit of rage, weaver of reason into discipline. you teach them how to be strong, to be consistent, in a world that demands them to choose cruelty. the grantor of armistice at the end of a long war, the one who blesses the hardened and makes them rest.

Miss Me?
So Iâm sure as youâve gathered I have returned. That said Iâve actually lost a lot of my stuff as my computer decided that it wanted to factory reset. So yes a lot of my old edits are gone :â(
BUT! Everything is currently open, storyline discussing, prompts, banter, all of it. Just give me a shout!
highseaskxngâ:
âJust be sure you donât strain yourself.â The sailor told her with a smile on his face, charming maybe but all in good teasing. Though he would not be the one to witness her stumbling, Sinbad had been long gone and back towards the camp plotting another plan, a plan in order to gain Barbarossaâs favor without conducting a war. Whilst infiltrating the location did not work he wasnât sure if he would be able to initiate a meeting either. That would be rather risky, still it left Sinbad with plenty to think about.
Meanwhile, who else but her once brave knight would be there to assist her, so she chose to accept his help. Drakonâs loyalty lies with his master, however, with this engagement it falls back with her as well, not that his loyalty for her ever wavered. Whilst he had something to say of the purpose and birth of their engagement he could still admit that it was at the very least a better situation than it had been with his elder brother.
âMy lady, you mustnât let pride get in the way of your well-being. Iâm quite sure my Lord would not use the moment to try andâŠââ Actually no, Drakon had to stop speaking BECAUSE he knew Sinbad would use this moment as ammo to tease her, harmless as he is..it was still the strong possibility. âAre you alright however?â
Of course she was found out by none other than Drakon, she should have guessed he would have come to check on her. While she he he was no longer tied to her in moments like this she remembered they did share a special bond despite all that had happened. His form was enough to prove that relationship, having surrendered himself in order to protect herself and her two maids. Seren knew the change had been hard on him, part of her would always feel a bit guilty that this had been his fate. Some days she wondered if he ever regretted his choice.
Serendine avoided eye contact with Drakon as her politely chastised her but when he faltered she did turn her gaze to him with a look that screamed, âsee even you know better.â She slowly stood up and brushed herself off and nodded, âYes, Iâm alright. Just...â It was a little difficult to explain how she felt right now, âafter shock?â She figured that might be a good enough word to use. âJust please donât tell anyone. Iâll be fine.â She took a few moments to gather herself before walking past Drakon, pulling him along with her back to the camp.Â
As they neared the edge of camp, Seren paused for a moment, âDrakon,â She searched his face, despite his appearance his golden eyes still shined with such sincere eyes. She carefully lifted her hand and placed it on his cheek, âI promise you donât have to look after me anymore. I understand your duties are elsewhere. I know Iâve lashed out in the past but I do understand. Even little ducklings grow up.â She smiled at him alluding back to when she had explained to him that he was much like a duckling who had followed her around when they were little. She lowered her hand and headed over to where the rest of the camp had gathered to listen in on this plan Sinbad was coming up with.Â
She was not completely sure what his plan would be however she and Drakon were the two who knew the most about Barbarossa. While his personality and motives had been fake during their engagement Seren still did know certain things behind the kingdom doors. âWhatever your plan is, you should take care to remember that he has most likely become more adept with his Djinn Equip and also has powerful allies on his side as well.â She glanced over a Drakon, when Barbarossa had almost killed Drakon he was only in a half djinn equip, not even fully in control. It would be foolish to expect him to have not been working to master it. âIn this case it might be wise to overestimate him if anything. We canât really speak to what he has behind him at this point.âÂ
parthevianxfearâ:
Serendine tensed slightly, feeling his fingers trailing along her body getting a little too close. But since he was now stirring she quickly closed her eyes pretending to still be fast asleep. She really could not be sure what happened last night. She had drunk way too much last night upon realizing she was only a stepping stone in a marriage. Sinbad said something to himself but she was unable to catch it. But she could feel his gaze on her which was confirmed when she felt the covers being pulled away exposing her. The morning air rushed against her body causing her to shiver slightly. Seren wasnât exactly a fan of being on display so she âsleepilyâ yanked the cover away from him covering herself again.Â
She slowly began to open her eyes at the feeling of being nudged only to be greeted with Sin leaning over her. Were his eyes always that golden? Seren had not realized how warm they actually were before. Confusion swept over her own features as she finally gained the courage to see if he knew what had happened, âWhatâs going on?â She gave it a moment before she ârealizedâ she was naked, before pulling 95% of the blankets to her to try and cover herself even more. âWhat did you do?â Normally she would have found herself yelling but instead her tone was full hushed and full of concern, maybe a little aggression but not yelling. Her eyes left Sinbad searching the room for where her clothing might actually be but unfortunately she was not having much luck locating where they had been discarded.Â
He seemed to be very casual and unconcerned about the situation which was leading her to believe that maybe they had sealed their fates. If that had been his plan it did come as a bit of a shock to Serendine seeing as she was convinced he did not feel anything for her and merely saw her as a tool to achieve both their ends. But then again it could have been a way to make sure she did not back out. If they had done anything she essentially had no choice but to marry him, in the view of the rest of the world she would be considered impure and not worthy of marriage. But was he really that cruel to lock her into a fate she had suggested herself? If he was, that was something Seren would never have expected from him. In the time she had spent with him cruelty was something Sin avoided. However, maybe he really truly did dislike her and this was part of the punishment. She really did not want to believe that those were his intentions, but she had been surprised by men being cruel before.Â
He raises an eyebrow at her, curious about what she managed to come up with.. âWhat do you mean what did I do?â That was the biggest form of dejavu if heâs ever experienced it. Honestly, itâs as if people think so little of him that every tragic misstep was of his volition. He rubs the back of his head and looks at her with such a pout that one would almost think his feelings have been hurt, besides whatever had happened she apparently didnât mind getting into bed with him after everything was said and done.
âI wouldnât worry about it too much, most of the time I happen to just sleep the night away when Iâm drunk.â Sinbad says rather cheerfully before he rouses himself from bed and stands up straight onto the floor, extending arms out to stretch as he stood there naked as the day he was born. He turns to face her and with a smile extends a hand towards her. âWell, weâll never find out what happened last night by remaining in our room.â He didnât even realize he used the term âourâ so quickly as if they were already married. Perhaps his mind had already gotten used to the idea. âAfter the wedding weâd really have to discuss our next move. What do we do with the information regarding you capturing one of the bratâs dungeons.â
The way he was pouting caused Serendine to pause for a moment. She pulled the blankets even closer to her body still worried. âI--â She was not exactly sure how to phrase what she wanted to say. To try and make such an accusation she felt in her heart wasnât true. The thoughts in her head fought against each other but before one could win Sin had continued on. He mentioned that he normally just slept when drunk. But that really did not explain the lack of clothes, well maybe that explained his but that did not explain hers.Â
His hand was extended out to her, it would have been a bit charming had he been clothed. Seren continue to clutch the blankets to her chest still somewhat hiding but she released one hand to actually accept the hand he offered. âWe should probably find clothes before trying to piece together the night...â The wedding. Serenâs eyes widened, âWAIT YOUâRE NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK AT ME!â She pulled her hand out of Sinbadâs putting it instead in his face as if to cover his eyes. âWhere did you hide our clothes?â She was almost begging at this point. This could get so messy if they were found like this... before the wedding.Â
highseaskxngâ:
His eyes widened as he saw her take the form of her djinn, whilst its size was beyond laughable Sin did no such thing. Sinbad saw first hand the power that very Djinn possessed and now it was under Serenâs control. It was amazing she was able to fully Djinn equip soo early, has she been secretly training the few days sheâs gotten it? It was truly amazing, even if she held the form for what seemed like five seconds it was still rather impressive. âIt took me some time, but you..youâre on the right track.â Sinbad said with a smile before placing a hand upon her shoulder. âHad I known you were this talented, perhaps I would have recruited you much sooner.âÂ
Sinbadâs sentence made in jest as he remembered their first encounter, oh what a flaming topic that was. âEven then I could see the potential in your âassetsâ.â The man said playfully with a little chuckle leaving him as he slowly began making his way to camp. Honestly the talk of being able to potentially visit his fatherâs grave was..incredible, it made him feel emotions that he thought heâd more or less buried deeply so long ago and he feared if a conversation about his father continued then heâd probably feel too much.
So, the sailor opted to behave slightly in a way he knew would irritate her towards some small degree. Itâd at least bring things back to normal between them as he took the vial sheâd given him and took a good look at it once more. Smiling warmly now that she couldnât see his face, Sinbad was grateful..beyond grateful knowing that they have such a promise between them..whether he sees his fatherâs remains or not..he made his mind up and he was truly going to marry this woman.
Serendine was trying not to show it but the form had severely drained her. She would not have been shocked if her knees failed her and placed her promptly on the ground. It had been a strange feeling to be in such a form. Her body had felt different. But now it felt as though breathing was difficult. She was keeping up appearances though. It was not in Serenâs nature to falter... especially not in the presence of Sinbad.
âYou recruited me?â She raised a brow as if to challenge the statement. They both clearly knew she had invited herself. The only time something had occurred without her own volition was that moment she and Sinbad had first met. That memory seemed like ages ago, so much had changed since then. However, she did still plan on getting some sort of revenge for that whole situation.Â
She looked rather unamused at the mention of her âassetsâ surprisingly though she did not lash out this time. Maybe it had been their previous topic that was causing her to pause. With a bit of surprise she watched as Sinbad left her in favor of camp. Maybe they were both full of surprises at times. Perhaps she had misjudged him at times. There were clearly other parts of him hiding behind his antics. Maybe it was worth trying to find out about.Â
When he was out of range from her her knees finally did buckle and hit the sand and soon enough her hands followed placing her onto all fours. She took a moment to steady her breathing, eyes closed just trying to compose herself. It was as if she could almost hear Zepar laughing, sure he had chosen her but that didnât mean he wouldnât find a bit of humor at the situation. It was not very clear about how long she stayed like that, just trying to remain conscious. But once she pulled herself together she followed in the direction Sinbad had gone to make her way back to camp as well.Â
highseaskxngâ:
His eyes widened upon listening to her words, the moment she spoke of bodies of the soldiers that fought in the war being buried in the capital. It was..a long shot, but the thought of going through the resting place of other brave men that defended their country for a wicked empire almost brought the man to tears. As much as he tends to hide this pain, it only takes a moment, a word, a whisper to find its way through the cracks of the wall he had built to shield to weaken, thus bringing an emotional response. âMy father..â For all he knew the manâs body could be buried there, for what he had in mind was probably a little macabre but..in a way it needed to be done. But for now he needed to focus on the task at hand.
A hand held out to hold the items she had given him, a seal and a vial against most types of poisons. This was definitely something that would come in handy for him in the future. It warrants a smile that heâs now shown her, a genuine smile. In truth there was something about her that he also respected and that was her loyalty towards his home. âI take these things with honor, your Highness.â But then his mind went back towards the issue at hand.Â
âNow that I think about it, youâre a kingâs candidate now, and with a Djinn youâll probably have to go through the process of training your body to handle your full Djinn equip. Iâm honestly curious of what youâd look like.â
Seren could see the emotional cracks on Sinbadâs resolve. It made sense, she had visited the site a few times usually with flowers to at least try to give thanks. But now standing back from it all, perhaps things could have been done differently. But that had also been before she really even had a voice. She and Sinbad had been tied to their fates and the will of others from a very young age. She was just hoping she could make good on her promise to provide him with some kind of closure.Â
She gave him the tiniest smile in return not wanting him to mistake it for her warming up to him. That would be absurd. Her mind wandered to her Djinn, Sinbad was right she would be able to djinn equip now. She unsheathed her sword staring at the hilt where Zepar had decided to make his home. âI supposed thereâs only one real way to find out, right?â She was not exactly sure what to expect. Her fuchsia eyes settled on the gem in which Zepar laid. She inhaled slowly letting her rukh guide her spirit, âZepar of Spirit and Puppetry dwell in body.â She felt her body shrink down as two wings sprouted from her back. However, she was barely able to hold the form and reverted back rather quickly.Â
Unlike many other djinns, Zepar didnât wield his own weapon, instead his voice and mind were the weapons. But this also meant Serendine was going to need to master a full djinn equip to actually use Zepar properly. Just the small transformation had taken a toll on her body and rukh which apparently were not prepared for the equip. Seren frowned a little before looking to Sinbad, âHow long did this take you?â

The plan had been to keep walking but instead Sinbad spoke up much quicker than she was expecting. Saher and Tamira were trying to contain their giggles at this point, âDo you get a say in what? I was just proving a point. We can pretend it never happened.â Seren was avoiding eye contact with him. Her cheeks were slightly flushed at this point, just wanting to vanish into another room.Â
âDonât think anything about it, Sinbad.â She had not expected him to have commentary on the situation at least not right away so she was at a slight disadvantage at the moment. Saher and Tamira were also slowly slipping out of the room to make the situation even worse. Being left with Sinbad was not something she was particularly thrilled about.
âItâs going to be hard to not think about it.â The young man spoke as he took a step towards her. Slowly but surely severing the distance between them until they were eye to eye. âSomething tells me that that kiss you gave me meant more to you than youâre letting on.â The young man spoke with confidence, at this point he had to, he had stopped her from moving and even outright ignored her want of terminating the conversation. But Sinbad was the type that adored solving mysteries, and the biggest mystery of all was the reason for that token of affection, especially since heâs done nothing to deserve it.
âDonât think my intentions are ill young lady, I did happen to enjoy the kiss. Because for a woman that dabbles in the knowledge of poisons, youâve sure acquired lovely taste upon those lips.â Was this him simply just sweet talking? Maybe, (yes) but it was also him being honest with her. In the back of his mind Sinbad had already prepared for death thinking she might have laced her tongue with a tonic that would paralyze him before the sweet cold embrace of death took him but the proof was in his very life. She âwantedâ to kiss him, she wasnât forced or even coerced into doing it but did it of her own volition.
As he took steps to close the distance between them she tried to match with equal steps backing up. However he back hit a wall and she was now completely trapped. Seren had absolutely no choice but to face him. âI told you, I was proving a point. There is nothing more to it than that. So I strongly suggest pretending it did not happen as it wonât happen again.â Seren was beginning to see that Sinbad had gotten this idea stuck in his head which was akin to a dog with a bone. She was never going to be able to pull this away from him now.Â
She stared at him unamused, âDo you truly think that sweet talking is the best route with me, Sinbad?â It was an honest question although the way she said it made it sound more like an accusation. He was making her regret not poisoning him in that moment now. But this was clearly the consequences of her own actions.Â

The princess was silent, understandably so but the young man couldnât help but to worry about her, maybe it was just the part of him that worried over Drakon. The two were close, so close that Drakon took his current form in a way to keep her safe, but to see that person he respected so much overwhelmed with such grief..no matter. With a smile and a wink he assured Drakon that he supports the notion of them staying. Perhaps they were too hasty coming to the dark continent, though in their haste theyâve managed to make an ally out of a new nation, but perhaps it might be time to revisit old countries until one day he does return home to see what has become of his home country.
âAlright then weâll camp here for the night.â Everyone had began preparing what was needed for camp, through their time of being stranded within the valley of the damned Mystras and Jaâfar began crafting bedding made from vegetation found upon the nearby trees and bushes, Hina, Masrur and Sharrkan began heading through the wilderness hunting food, Sharrâs knowledge of the land around them would help and Masrur along with Hinaâs strength would be needed for anything they find.Â
Drakon left to prepare firewood to create a bonfire for their expected meal. Sinbad on the other hand approached Seren and her handmaidens. There was something about his eyes, eyes usually filled with hope for a better future, they were now..finally open. Seren helped him realize how foolish that dream of his was..though foolish as it is, it was still something worth dreaming of and it was still an ideal he will make possible. Eyes darts towards Seren before he gestures with his face and body for her to follow him, a private place to talk. Should the princess follow, or pick up on his invitation the two would walk ahead, not too far from camp only far enough for their words to remain secret towards the others.
âNow should be spring, the one time where the heat in Tison village was so much more bearable than it has ever been throughout the year prior to the end of the year when it gets even hotter. Around this time my father would take me to Contastia..â He paused and gently glided his finger against his own cheek rather sheepishly. âWell, I say heâd take me but itâs really me just sneaking onto his fishing boat. We would catch the most fish than weâd ever get all year round during those times. But then before I was even old enough to get my own boat..or let alone travel to Contastia Harbor myself the Parthevian army took him away from us. Taking him to fight their stupid war. Honestly, what good of a soldier would a maimed man make anyway, but that was the last time Iâve seen my father alive.â Sinbadâs cheery voice of reminiscing turned rather somber.
âPlease donât misunderstand me, Iâm not telling you this to gain your sympathy or pity. My parents both died with love in their hearts, love for their family, love for me and I carry that love with pride. The purpose of me telling you all of this is to let you know I havenât forgotten where I came from, I move forward because I want to erase things like âwarâ from this world. To live in a world where a boy would not be orphaned by the government or..â His sentence broke and he turned towards her. âA country where its royalty would not be exiled. Parthevia is in my blood and veins, I ask that you give me timeâŠand I will liberate our home, peacefully.â
Serendine took notice of Sinbad's actions and glanced around trying to figure out if he actually meant her but everyone else was going their own ways which only left her. She slowly followed after him wondering if he was going to attempt to scold her for not giving an answer or if he was going to tell her that she was not actually welcome. However what came next was not something she had been expecting. But she could see it. A tiny Sinbad running around causing chaos in Tison, it also finally made sense how he was so comfortable at sea.Â
Serendine had not expected to be shaken by his words or promise, but she sat there staring at him for a moment wondering if she had just made everything up in her head. No, he had actually said those things. She had never expected Sinbad to open up to her of all people. She had supported the war with everything she had but his words now were giving her pause. It was true everyone had to make sacrifices in order to protect what they loved but to take someone injured to the front lines just to be killed⊠that was a tad harsh even for her. In her life she had never had to face the uncertainty that the war brought, from where she had been standing it seemed to be a just cause that sacrifices needed to be made for.Â
âSinbad,â Her voice was soft now, âIâll hold you to that promise and make you one in return. The bodies of those sent into battle were returned- if possible. And were buried in the capital. Itâs not something many know about, itâs not easily found⊠But they are laid with a personal belonging marking the grave, something they had on them when they were found. If we make it back to Parthevia, I will take you there. I canât bring him back to you but I can help you find closure.â Serendine looked down. She had not been able to properly say goodbye to her father either so she understood the heartbreak that followed that.Â
She looked back up with a little smile, âThey would be proud of you, you know? Here you are traveling and making a difference in the lives of others. Despite our differences I do admire you Sin. Just never ask me to admit that again.â Seren closed the distance between the two picking up one of his hands and placing two items into them. She then looked back up at him, âIâm giving you one of my seals which might be able to assist you in negotiation, the other is a vial which can cure most poison.â She realized how out of character this was for her, âThis is to assist you in keeping your promise. Iâm not going soft on you.â

Slowly his eyes began to open, his fingers felt a soft surface, but he didnât pay it any mind as he sleepily moved himself from the young woman. Sitting up and stretch whilst his lips releases a yawn and then finally his eyes would open, slowly taking in his surroundings..everything seemed unfamiliar but he mentally blamed his blurred vision from his lack of visual comprehension. And once again his eyes reopens and then he recognized his surroundings..this was a room..or a royal chamber to be exact. Gaze turned towards the side to spot a naked Seren right beside him..which immediately brought his mind back to mere moments ago..he touched..âThat actually wasnât bad.â The young man spoke softly towards himself.
Looking at himself, he saw that he was completely nude..then looking at Serendine, lightly lifting the covers rather casually to inspect her..yes, sheâs nude as well. The king-to-be began to ponder, did they already get married and did the deed?? No, that couldnât be it..his mind tried replaying events from the previous night but his mind provided random flashes of events. Him drinking with Seren in an attempt to lift her spirits considering he has the idea that she despises him more than death itself, then he vaguely recalled challenging Drakon in a fire breathing challenge (which he lost miserably), he tried to recall another memory until he felt a sting at his right bicep, quick inspection to discover a healing cut, made by a blade..no telling where he got that.
Turning to look at her once more before he began to ponder exactly how this happened. Oh this should be a good one. To think of what the princess would do if she discovered herself in such a compromising position with him, this early in the morning before her wedding with the same man. Gently, his hand reaches forward and began to nudge her shoulder. âHey, young la-â He sentence paused, he suppose he couldnât tease her and address her as young lady as a way of teasing her anymore.
She really did not want to believe that those were his intentions, but she had been surprised by men being cruel before.Â

âAlright everyone.â Said Sinbad once theyâve arrived at a spot for encampment. It would have been rather foolish if they continued strolling when it gets too dark, thereâs no telling what sort of beasts they would find. Not to mention it was about time they all got back towards the ship, even if he did manage to find suitable land to start a civilization for his country, trade would come rather difficult because of the dangers of the journey. There was the thought of adding checkpoints for future merchants, it would provide safety should he leave someone with the power he trusts..but that would leave his very city open to attack as well.
âIâve been doing some thinking, as great of an idea it was to build my country here, I canât help think that it would be just a little too dangerous for the country to thrive, Heliohapt would be the only suitable country for trading.â Arms now fold across his chest, that would be beneficial but the items they would trade would start to lose their value because of similar circumstances.
âBut this is not just my country, itâs going to be our country, so thatâs why I need to know what your stand is on my decision to look for a new location.â Ja'far was the first that started to talk. âI trust your judgment Sin. So I vote with you.â Said Ja'far as the others slowly began to voice their own opinion on the matter. Now, the last thing to wait for was the opinion of the princess, yes it was true that she wasnât a part of their crew in the first place, as insufferable as she was Sinbad still respects her opinion. âWhat about you young lady? Would you continue the journey with us? Or is there somewhere youâd like us to drop you off once weâre on the ship?â
She was not sure when she had wandered back to the group but soon enough the eyes were on her as Sinbad asked what she wanted to do. Any fire that had been in her eyes faltered with the question. She made eye contact with Drakon who frowned in return realizing what was running through her mind. They had no home now, they were outcasts to the country they had been fighting for and loved. More than anything Serendiene wanted to return home to her country but at the moment that was impossible. Any potential for a witty or snarky remark had fallen away. The reminder of how alone she really was became clear. She pulled her gaze away from Drakon instead looking to the ground unable to actually say a word. The ache in her heart was too much at the moment.Â
Drakon cleared his throat coming to Serendineâs rescue. âForgive me for speaking for Lady Serendine,â His eyes still had not left her, waiting to see if she would stop him but she was too deep within herself, âWe have become enemies of our home. If we were to return we would be at a minimum executed.â He finally pulled his eyes away from the Princess to look at Sinbad, âPlease allow us to join you on your journey. Iâm sure we will be able to help you.â The silence of the Princess was extremely concerning given how she had blown up earlier.Â
Still not looking up, Serendiene nodded to show her acceptance of Drakon's statement. She was fearing that if she looked away from the ground or spoke then her emotions would boil over and she would become an emotional mess. âIâm sorry.â Her voice was barely audible. This had not been the life she planned. To be this alone in the world was a lot for her. There was not a single place that she could call home honestly. Her heart would always be with Parthevia, but she had no choice but to be away from her country.
