Been really into macho man lately. Since wrestling is pretty bad right now (no crowds!) I’ve been going back and watching stuff from the late eighties. Ive been hitting up old episodes of main event on YouTube and I’ve been loving it! Something about the pace of it, the fun of it...something a little lost these days. Anyway, macho is the classic heel that is so magnetic, so amazing, that he was bound to be a face. I watched the dark side of the ring about him and Elizabeth and it was so sad, but really good too. Bad Movie Masterclass Volume Two is in session! TWIN DRAGON ENCOUNTER (1986) Two identical twin kickboxers take their girlfriends on a romantic trip to their wilderness cabin (bunk beds!) in matching branded vans. But not all goes to plan, as they bump into a hilarious psycho named jake who runs a private army of 20 confused men for...reasons. Though they do eventually confront one another, the real heart of this film is the weirdly paced vacation scenes: lunch! Boat trips! Enjoying the sun! Weird twins! As our heroes watched Jake the villain escape (minus a hand), we all hoped against hope to find the resolution to this tale. 1990s Dragon Hunt solved that problem, when jake returned and captured the twins for a deadly game of hunt the kickboxers. The sequel is less fun and less Canadian and had way less vacationing. However, we do learn from the extremely occasional overdubs that Jake the villain had somehow become omnipotent! Highly recommend the first film and would love to get a Canadian perspective. Spent the day working on King of Pop issue 2. I feel like I'm way better at drawing now, which is pretty bonkers considering how f'd up my hands are from the chemo treatments. This is gonna be a dope issue I think. Its cool looking back at issue one and being like "what chump drew this?" I am the chump! Feels good to get better.
