Now 3 years later I want to add something. Someone actually talked to me, I wasn’t pleased at the time because this was an annoying boy from my class. However now we’ve been dating for 2 years. Just a fun fact.

It’s been six years since I made the original post and five years since I started dating the boy I complained about. Now we’re both adults, we have moved in together and we have a dog. I honestly couldn’t be happier.

Nostalgia

Today the band 5 Seconds of Summer released their song Old Me. The title of the song is quite telling. I don’t really follow their music these days anymore, but six years ago I followed them religously. You should have seen my room, I was surrounded by their faces on the posters on my walls. My twitter was full of their tweets and my replies that I really thought that they would see.

It was different back then, and Old Me did not only remind me of the band, but the old me. I used to sit in my room blasting their music and complain about middle school. Now I sit at home in silence paying taxes and studying for university. The edgy girl with red hair became the pencil skirt and high heel wearing woman. 

The point of this post; Sometimes you realize how old you are really getting. Bands like 5 Seconds of Summer remind me of that. However listening to their songs make me feel somewhat like a young teen again. Listening to 18, like I myself wasn’t over 18 already. But, I also feel kind of sad, since the 5SOS that I knew and loved aren’t the same anymore. Just like I have grown, so have they.

when your life is falling apart but you don’t give a fuck anymore

I just want to say; me today.

I’m going to sound melodramatic as hell now, but I just have some things to say.

Today I went through a traumatic event, a small and not ought to be life changing, yet here I am. It takes a car hitting me while I’m on my scooter to get a new found appreciation of life.

The car barely hit my leg, leaving no marks except the dirt marks on my jeans. I even laughed after it all happened to my friends. Drowning the trauma in humor. However I still know that if that car would have hit me just seconds later I would probably be lying in a hospital bed with my legs wrapped up or even worse.

So I am glad to put that cold compression on my leg, I’m glad I’m just limping, I’m just glad I am here.

I’ll forget this event in a few weeks but life’s honestly crazy sometimes and this is one of those times.
