The best thing to clear one’s head, although it wasn’t like Beat was very troubled by that usually, was to take a skateboard ride. And so the skater was weaving his way through the people of the city, barely taking stock of whoever was around him. He needed a lot of time to come to terms with what was going on... that he was dead. Again. That all the things he’d done, and all the people he knew, were gone. Phones, Shiki, and even- No. Shaking his head, Beat pressed forward and built up speed, bumping into people as he did.

Unfortunately, what this meant is that he accidentally managed to snag somebody’s jacket off their back, and with his current state he wasn’t really noticing the jacket now clinging to him. As Beat pressed on further, all he wanted was to go as fast as possible. This would make chasing him down an... interesting task.

Unclear Awakenings

Huh…? The item he had on his head wasn’t a hat? Then, what was it? It didn’t feel hard to the touch, as the other explained it should do - that was kind of strange. It wasn’t so strange that he couldn’t recall what it was for, though - he had amnesia, after all. He was about to try and push through his shyness - made worse by the stranger being very vocal - when the other tapped on the hard object against his head.

T-too close! Eeep! 

He completely froze up from the close physical proximity, shivering for a good while: so much so that he didn’t register the other thing the stranger said next. The talk of books managed to break through his shakes and shivers, though, given books were an important subject to him.

“It’s….a book from where I stayed before waking up here….”

That would surely explain why he was preferring to read it than face the uncertainty of this place alone, right? After all…it was the only memento he had of ‘home’, if it was even that. He couldn’t remember a thing.

The problem here was that Beat wasn’t used to people he didn’t like physical contact... or, at least, he usually solved the problem by applying physical contact. Directly to the forehead. But if somebody was shaking, that had to be wrong, and now Beat felt like a jerk for doing it. Here he was, rushing into things again and now he’d made this guy feel uncomfortable. “Stupid, stupid Beat...”

Beat’s attention perked up slightly when he heard a reply, bringing a stupid grin to the skater’s face. That was fine now, right? Everything was better, at least, because he responded. “A book from where you was before, huh? Where was that? Japan? ‘Merica? Someplace else?”

Hit Me Up With Some Grub [@Aichi]

Not a direct response, Aichi had glanced over his shoulder in expectation that the man ahead had been calling out to. A search he wouldn’t get to fully carry out before an arm was around his neck, hands grasping at the muscular limb wrapped about him. Enlarged eyes travelled upwards to the source; the man who seemed so carefree that he had trouble fathoming what his intention was.

           “M- Me?”

As if that wasn’t obvious enough by the headlock he was stuck in, though the reasoning behind it insinuated there was no reason to squirm and writhe or fight back. There was no threat, if all he wanted was to seek out something to eat.

“I- I’m not… that familiar… B- But if you’re hungry, th- then we’d do well to find somewhere”.                     Not that he had any idea how they were meant to pay for any meal, though leaving a famished man didn’t sit right with him.

…That would imply he had to the choice to wriggle out of this. Not looking likely.

"Hell yeah, you! What other blue-haired kid do ya see around here?” There seemed to be a sherpa of them... or was that word sherpa? Had to be something like that. Not a lot of hipstery types, at least. Looking down on the other Beat realised that maybe he should loosen his grip just a little, because breathing is important even if people are dead. So he loosened up juuuust a little.

“Aight, now that’s what I’m talkin’ about! Good food and good friends and all that con carne everyone’s happy stuff!” He began to firmly walk in one direction with this new guy in tow before stopping and realising he didn’t know where he was goin’. “Right... which way we goin’ now, man? ‘Cuz I ain’t really got a clue right now.”

Pick It Up, [BLANK]! [First Open]

The world’s end, huh? Somehow it hadn’t come as much as a surprise as it should have to the young man who found himself strolling down the streets aimlessly. He enjoyed walks. They helped him clear up his mind and think things through, but this one really didn’t need much thought. To him, the world might as well have ended a long time ago. Humanity had already gone to ruin before he was even created, so why should he care that everything was officially over now?

Admittedly he could have kept a better eye out on his surroundings, but he did not for a moment anticipate someone rushing out of the door next to him, seemingly just as absentminded as he was, running straight into him. It was almost comical had Haruto been one to find such things amusing. Instead he shot a glance down at the perpetrator only just barely managing to capture himself before he also toppled over.

“What I would do?” he repeated the question monotonely, making it very evident that he did not feel an ounce of pity towards this teen and his foul mouth. Instead he casually took out from his inner pockets what suspiciously looked like a hand grenade and began bouncing it around on his arms as if it was a ball. “If that happened I would just have to accomodate, now, wouldn’t I?” A hint of a smirk appeared at the corners of his lips.

From the get-go Beat wasn’t keen on this guy. He had that prissy, white-haired “look at me I’m better than you” kind of vibe that that Joshua kid had coming off him waves. Look where that got him: dead. Again. Nope, no trusting white haired pretty boys. Still, he heard the guy talking, and that super bored voice wasn’t doing anything to help the /bad guy/ feeling crawling up his spine.

“BWAAAAAAH! Watch out!” Not recognising that the grenade had actually come from the stranger’s pockets and only registering that it existed, Beat did what came instinctively. He barrelled straight into the prettyboy in order to try and keep him safe from the bomb, and for good measure did his best to throw it as far away as possible from where they were. With a sigh of relief he patted pretty boy on the back.

“S’okay man, I gotchu. We safe from that bomb, aight? No need t’panic. Man, where the hell did somethin’ like that come from?”

"If I’m dead, why the hell’m I getting hungry, huh?” Beat could feel his stomach grumbling, and it was the same complaint he’d had as he did during the Reaper’s Game. Even if you were still dead, there was always the urge to eat... and Beat was quite the eater. Thinking for one of the rare moments in his life he wasn’t rushing to do something, Beat proceeded to apply lawchick to the situation. If he was dead... it was like the Reaper’s Game. So, there had to be food. And he needed a partner. And the best partners looked kinda weird and hipster with their styles. Someone with strange clothes, or funny-coloured eyes, or-

“Yo, perfect timing!” With a friendly wave he grabbed the blue-haired stranger in a headlock, since that was always the most efficient to get things done. “You look like ya know how things work ‘round here. So, howsabout you and me go get us some ramen or burgers or somethin’, since you probably know where that stuff is, right?”

Unclear Awakenings

Darkness - there was nothing but ever-expanding darkness, at first. At first, he thought he might have actually ‘passed on’ from the place he’d been stuck at before and reincarnated, but opening his eyes to find himself among stars and having matters explained to him by a lady with blue hair even more mysterious than he could hope to be had disrupted that thought. He was still dead, still a ghost.

Nothing had changed in that regard, and he still remembered nothing as to why and how he’d died: just as he could not recall then. He wasn’t certain of what to say to the stranger, so stumbled over to his bag the stranger had vanished a moment to provide. Oh. This was…strange. Looking down at himself, a pair of shaking, nervous hands met his gaze. 

Somehow, this felt…incorrect. Like this wasn’t what he usually looked like. Why? He couldn’t remember why. Well. He wouldn’t remember anything by standing here. 

Though, when he saw the large amount of people after going through the door with his bag, he found himself wishing he had stayed back in the other room. Thankfully, the now-open bag relinquished a book: and having a book of comfortable familiarity from the place he’d been trapped back home was soothing. He didn’t understand what the strange pot was for. He did have amnesia, so.

Maybe it was a hat? So it came to pass that any of the people wandering - looking just as confused as Nageki felt - would find a green-haired boy with a tea pot sitting on his head like a hat, silently reading as he sat. It would take several long moments before he spoke, tone soft and sad - yet did not look up from his book when he addressed any other.

“….Please…don’t be too noisy. I’m trying to read.”

He wanted to read the book to calm any major confusion down, plus he wasn’t good at talking to others. So you couldn’t blame him for wanting to keep his gaze on said book.

Shibuya was full of all kinds of weird and wonderful fashions. It was the kind of place where thuggish guys walked alongside girls in goth loli and upper-class dressy things as well. Beat thought he’d seen it all. But this... this kinda took the cake. He was staring, slightly dumbfounded, at the fact that this quiet green-haired dude had one of those things for pouring stuff on his head. You used it for tea, right? Probably? Maybe? Beat had never really had a chance to use one himself, so he couldn’t tell for sure. Maybe it really was a hat. Still, you had to check.

“Sorry t’break it to you, dude, but I don’t think that’s a hat. S’kinda too hard and made outta hard shit, right?” He knocked on it once, twice, thrice before suddenly realising that the green-haired kid had said something. “Oh... sorry.” Glancing at the title, Beat shrugged. “Must be some fun kinda book if you don’t wanna talk t’other people. What kind izzit? Action? Romance? Some kinda hysterical fission sorta thing?”

Pick It Up, [BLANK]! [First Open]

“Rhyme! We did it! We-” The blonde stopped, for the first time aware that his sister wasn’t by his side. “Rhyme... where you at?” A little walking made him very keenly aware that what was before him wasn’t Shibuya at all, but an office playing images of things he didn’t know and didn’t care for. 

“Y-Yo, this ain’t funny. What kinda sick joke... We won that game! We won it fair and square! I c-can’t be... not... I can’t let her down again...” Had something gone wrong? Had Phones messed up? Or maybe that prissy kid had decided to wipe Shibuya out again. Can’t trust someone with a smile like that, after all. But that had to be the case. It meant the others must be around here somewhere, right? This new UG. And yet, as he heard the words of the lady before him, this reality wasn’t sinking in. Not yet. He could still find them.

Hefting his new bag over his shoulder, Beat practically barrelled his way through the door before crashing into someone just outside the office and landing flat on his ass. “Hey, frickin’ watch yourself! Can’t just go crashin’ into people like that- whatchu gonna do when someone meaner than me comes along and gets real mad at you, huh?”
