Head tilting ever so slightly to the right, her face scrunched in momentary confusion and she almost let Mightyena slip away from her. Her focus shifted from his not knowing Mightyena was not a dog back to keeping the Pokemon from biting the oddly dressed stranger. She gave the dark-type a quick yank down, forcing him to sit back on his hind legs ( to which he turned his head and snapped at her hand ) before slowly removing her hands from his fur. She grinned.
“Funny you’re calling him fluffy– that’s what I used to call him when he was a pup, but he didn’t really like it,” she laughed as Mightyena settled further into the sand. “I think he’s really cute, too. He’s kinda got a bad temper, but he’s mostly trying to keep me safe. Uh, most of the time… sometimes he’s just a grump.”
As she spoke, May had crouched down besides Mightyena and gave him a pat on the head. In truth, he didn’t like being called cute, and he liked even less that it was coming from a stranger. Though he seemed to have relaxed, the hyena-like Pokemon remained on high alert.
Still grinning, the brunette stood back up and looked around the beach. “Now, if y’wanna see cute and fluffy…. uh, where’s Delcatty…? Uh oh…” May turned a full circle, searching for the feline. “Uhhh… she’s gotta be around here somewhere.”
Despite Schezo’s continued adoration, it seemed this companion of the girl’s was especially sensitive to Dark Magic like he himself owned - though he merely exercised conversation with the maiden, it was evident for even someone currently having cuteness proximity reactions like himself to see the dog was still very wary of him. “I mean no harm: I am simply here to look at the beach, as back where I grew up there was nothing like this!”
That being said...it seemed fluffy was an accurate term, according to the girl herself, as the dog was fluffy even when younger...Schezo kinda wished he could have seen that!
“Oh, your friend’s got a little bit of a reputation as a ‘tough guy’ to uphold, does he? I won’t tell anyone that fluffy secret, mwe he hee.” Mainly because he, too, tried to ‘uphold’ the standard of being a Dark Mage when he sometimes wished he’d never gotten the dark magic to begin with, but he would not speak of that aloud. “That being said, it’s understandable! I would go to any lengths to guard my deepest fondness myself...” Where was Arle, he wondered? Was she still back at Primp, having a good time?
Though, the thought was put aside at the other...looking for another friend? “I have not seen any other cute, fluffy creatures yet, but I most certainly can offer to assist in your search! I’m quite good at finding things!”
Okay, maybe his ability to ‘sense powers’ might not work to find cute animals, but it was worth a go? It seemed the quickest way to try and find something anyway.
