Ah, so the jack in the box wasn’t merely just a toy. It would certainly come in handy, that’s for sure. Though the other grumpy teammate didn’t seem to pleased with his own – a simple box contained puzzle pieces, all which made the academy when pieced together. Between the potatoes and the puzzles, it was clear who the winner was. The vegetables were at least heavy enough to warrant as a weapon.
“Uh, all right then. So the puzzles it is.”
Grabbing the box from his teammate’s hand, Nadi waved it at the gargoyle, still feeling a bit unsure of what he was doing.
“Okay, we choose the box of puzzles! Er, so we leave this place now right?” As if to answer him, the box in his hand materialized and the gargoyle’s eyes flashed red – the writing appeared above the statue though the only word was proceed.
Flynn took a moment to regard the other’s puzzle box. He had to agree, it was no weapon in comparison to the vegetables in the other male’s hand, and the boxing glove on the end of the toy Flynn had obtained. Perhaps they had given out pointless objects for the tasks such as this - although, a part of him wondered if the puzzle might have come in use later…
Before he could say anything in regards to the matter however, his train of thought was interrupted by the gargoyle’s motions, and the disappearance of the puzzle box. A prompt on the wall urged them to move forward now. Flynn could feel relief flooding his veins at the sight: at least they would not falter here.
No, they must not falter at all. If Flynn held faith the would proceed, then his team would.
Before heading towards the newly formed exit, the blond looked over at his now unarmed teammate. Bowing slightly, Flynn felt it was his duty as a knight to say something in regards to his teammate.
“Thank you for your sacrifice. As a member of the Imperial Knights of my home world, I pledge to protect you from whatever harm we may face. Of course, I extend that promise to our leader as well.” Flynn looked to Nadi upon mentioning him, nodding his head with a determined gaze.
“With our first challenge complete, we should do as our leader has said and continue forward. We will not falter if we continue to work as a team!”
as he parted with his ‘gift’ of sorts that was assigned as his weapon, he felt a bit odd -- no bow, no dagger, and now, not even a stupid puzzle. even if it didn’t come in handy, it at least gave him something to hold. maybe at least now, he’d look cooler in comparison to his teammates, as he was roaming empty-handed? but ah, who would see it? who would be there to see how he stood out from his group, who would take note of his noble sacrifice?
well, that would be a teammate of his.
eyebrows furrowed at the blond as he bowed down. as a prince, he had been used to being praised and held at a higher level than others, but here, nobody saw him as a prince. nobody really cared about what he was before he got to hiraeth; all that mattered was that he was there now.
『oh, uh. no problem. 』 he’d also glance to their leader as the knight spoke, before looking back to him. 『it shouldn’t be an issue. i can take care of myself. 』 while the offer sure was a nice notion, takumi preferred to be independent -- best not let other people get credit for his work.
he nodded at the idea of continuing, getting out of this place. he’d like to be anywhere but inside of an eerie room with a magical gargoyle that talks and takes his stuff.
