i always get this weird melancholy feeling everytime i get a haircut. it’s like everytime i go it ends up too short for my liking even though it looks exactly like the reference pic i show the stylist. and it looks good. my friends, when i facetime them from across the country say it looks great. my mom who I haven’t lived with in years says it’s really cute. it still takes me weeks to warm up to it and subconsciously hope my new coworkers don’t notice i got it - i get what i want, they don’t mention anything, if they can even tell it changed. accidentally opening up pinterest im met with all these pictures of what i want my hair to look like, what it presently does look like, and i miss the way i could twirl it between my fingers. it always got so damn tangled no matter how often i brushed it. it looks good in my drivers licence photo that just came in the mail - im told over the long distance phone call the short hair suits me better. then he told me about his day and said hes having a movie night with our friends tonight and wishes i could be there. suddenly i didnt want to tell him about how good my day was. im only wishing i didnt get that haircut
