Adeline almost jumped as Pash sat up.  She wanted to just do her job, hopefully with little interaction with the Hosts as possible.  “Hi,” she said curtly

Pash blinked, registering who it was and what this meant. Suddenly, she slid back into the corner of her cell, tucking her knees up to her chest like a child. "I didn't think I was due for anything today," she mumbled, wide-eyed.

It was supposed to be one of his casual visits to the Host named Tov that quite interested him. Usually Grayson would have checked whether he’s in the cell or not before coming down here, yet today, that schedule was somehow forgotten. So here he was, facing an empty cell as a reminder of the price one had to pay for being unprepared. Then he heard a weak sound from a few feet away, as though someone was inhailing with a relatively slow speed, as though someone was enjoying the smell of fresh air. That was utterly impossible. Hosts wouldn’t have such human-like feelings and guards certainly were not that bored. Greyson soon found himself walking down the corridor, until he saw who that was. Or to be more exact, what that was.

"Are you one of them?”

Pash blinked, startled, turning quickly to eye Grayson, a mysterious figure who only came down to taunt another of the Hosts. Tucking her flaming locks behind her ears with quick haste, she pulled her knees up to her chest, genuinely confused and stunned. "One of who?" she asked, chin tilted up so she could see his face.

Parker’s list of subjects had been surprisingly short for the day, so he decided to savor the moments of peace and quiet he had before the next Host was drug to his exam room for further testing. Hands folded together, the young man pursed his lips as he walked by the various cells finding his eyes eventually wandering toward the familiar cell he had stopped by countless times. He dropped the clipboard from under his arm onto the nearby table, the vibration of noise appearing louder than he expected. He heard quick startled moments from Pash’s cell, and the man fumbled with the clipboard as if he could silence any noise that would disturb her. “Oh.. I’m sorry Pash. It dropped out of my hands,” Parker replied with the first thing that came to mind before taking a few steps forward to see her in better light.

Pash blinked, pushing herself up to her feet, which were always bare, and smiled. Her hands pressed to the glass, leaving tiny handprints in their wake, eyes finding his excitedly. "That's alright. I wasn't doing anything important," she shrugged, as if there was anything to do at all except wait for whatever the humans had planned. "What are you doing here?" she asked, and her eyes widened, pupils dilating with momentary fear. "I didn't think I was scheduled for today..."

Pash took a moment to inhale, to feel the cool air of the Hub fill her human lungs, which stretched to hold that much oxygen. Her eyes closed for a moment, feeling the calmness of peace spread over her, away from the needles and the pills and the yelling. More than anything, she loved these moments of solitude, even if they always ended abruptly. Startled by a noise, Pash sat up straight on the floor of her cell, eyes searching for something to cling to. "Oh, hello," she squeaked, so quiet and yet so full of hope. Every day was the same, like her - quiet and full of hope.

Pash, formerly known as Wren Kingston, is 20 years old and resembles Karen Gillan. They are a Wanderer as part of the Hosts.

BEFORE CAPTURE;

Wren was shamelessly and unapologetically herself in a world where self-expression mattered very little. Raunchy, out-spoken, and brash, she threw herself into everything, her personality and ego almost too big for the small spaces she had to hide while on the run from Seekers. Wren belonged to a group of rebels engaged in guerrilla warfare with the Hosts in a city smack-dap in the middle of Washington State. Excellent in the art of attack, Wren was brutal, almost scary, right up until the day it all ended.

After their resources ran low, the humans that Wren worked with retreated while she was still in combat, leaving her stranded. Panicked, she realized that this was the end of her human life - that these aliens would use her body and leave her there, silenced like someone in a coma. She couldn’t fathom a life like that, so she tried to kill herself, turning her gun on herself. But a Seeker jostled the weapon, and it only grazed her head, leaving a scar but not lasting damage to what would become their newest Host. 

AFTER CAPTURE;

Pash was reborn that day, excited and curious about this new world called Earth. While Pash was a younger, less experienced Host, it also meant that they were kinder and more willing to assimilate into human life. It was clear from the start that she was meant to be a Wanderer, too gentle and intrigued by the world to want to spend her time hunting down those resisting it. Pash lived in the city where Wren was captured for a while until she grew dissatisfied of such a mundane lifestyle different from the world in Wren’s memories.

These visions were an oasis for Pash, who wanted so badly to cohabitate with humans that she wandered off in search of Wren’s people. When The Hub caught her wandering aimlessly through the woods, Pash went with them willingly, almost excitedly, determined to show them the world through her eyes. She never got the chance. Now, she is realizing that the humans don’t want the same thing she does. Scared of the scientists and confused by the tests they’re running on her and the other Hosts, Pash is holding out hope for the humans, even if the future looks bleak.

CONNECTIONS;

Adeline Foster - Scared of the scientist, mainly because of how cold the woman is. She also dislikes her for how she seems to take her humanity for granted.

Parker Emerson - Prefers Parker to any other scientist, and puts forth a great deal of effort to be his friend in the hopes that he can vouch for her character to the others. She sees how he himself struggles to prove his good intentions, and will often refuse to cooperate for experiments unless he’s in the room.

AJ Dyson - Often getting the brunt of his anger, especially over how there “is no good in Hosts”, Pash has begun to question the validity of his words. She often combats him with arguments of her own regarding her lack of resistance at the time of her capture and challenges him to see the goodness in her people and the evil in his own. On the flip side, she doesn’t understand why he hangs around the cages so often if he hates them so much, and why he acts so interested for someone who “couldn’t care less about a Host’s opinion”. 

Cameron Howell - Cameron and Pash are two unlikely comrades. Maybe its her innocence that appeals to him, or maybe its his chilling demeanor that attracts her to him, but the two spend hours sitting in silence. Sometimes Cameron brings Pash books, even if they’re just weird books on meat and the packing industry. Lately, as his addictions have been worsening, so have his relations with Pash. He’s bordering on violent or disoriented, often trying to convince her to try his black market goods, convincing her that they’re “part of the human experience”.

Mila Crast - Pash adores Mila, especially her oddities and her passion for the Earth. Even if she doesn’t see her often, their visits are a breath of fresh air for Pash, who is often much too excited for her own good. Mila enjoys discussing her philosophical musings with the Host, even if she’s a bit skeptic on the whole ‘alien’ front, and Pash is dying for a chance to call a human girl her friend.
