AHA! I think I am beginning to crack the Tymshare tapes.

What's going on is this: what we're looking at for the data at the beginning are control characters. progs-n-things' fork of Hugh Pyle's ASR33 emulator (with paper tape support) seems to be helping me crack the case.

I haven't tried binary files, yet, though. But, here:

Some pictures of what the earthquake did and couldn’t do in Ridgecrest, CA. The wall where the new Arby’s us being built survived two quakes. The pipes are grey water pipes that carry the water so the chemical plant in Trona can process minerals. The water is out of that pipe and a fissure from the 6.4 quake is starting to heal.
