The redhead was at a loss for words. How could she do what he could do and so much more cool things? How amazing would it be if he could look the way someone he liked desired? Or he could just make someone attracted to him, even though that felt more like he was forcing someone into something they didn’t want. “If only you could teach me,” He sighed.

“Well..” Nala started- biting her lip a bit as she did. “Honestly, I can’t teach you my powers but I can teach you how to flirt or even set you up with a cutie if you want.” The girl said happily. She felt bad for talking of her powers so easily- it wasn’t hard to see that Orion was pretty down over it- the sigh said it all. “But- let’s tackle one thing at a time, huh? Cats and then flirting.”

Nala’s eyes dropped for a moment and moved to the man beside her. “You know.. I’m going to take your word for that... I wouldn’t know-- anything about this.” Taking a moment to try and find the word ‘anything’ because she was most likely going to say something much worse than that at first. “Wanna explain?”

Quinn’s eyes widened briefly as she recognized the name, and then the face was all too familiar now. Now she felt silly for not recognizing the girl sooner. She smiled, a little sheepishly. “Aah, of course, I thought you looked familiar. I’m sorry I didn’t realize it at first,” she replied. “I’m Quinn Parker, and I’m a scientist––geneticist and biologist, technically––and I guess my favorite color is purple?” She smirked a bit, brushing some of her red hair behind her ear. “I’ll be honest, making friends was always a bit of a challenge for me.”

Nala waited to hear everything from the girl before responding with a small smile. “Don’t worry about it, I wouldn’t expect someone with such a brilliant mind to waste space with reading tabloids about hotel half-owners.” She said as a laugh left her lips. “And now Quinn Parker, you have a friend. Or something like that anyways. Oh- we should find something purple and pink to seal it.”

Connor gave the girl an amused smile, shaking his head a little. “’ave you tried takin’ aspirin? Usually knocks the edge off a bit,” he suggested before giving the blonde a grin. At Nala’s suggestion, he raised his eyebrows slightly in surprise, taking interest and turning a little more to face Nala. “Work somethin’ out?” Connor asked curiously. “Ah, she could do way better than me, trust me,” he said, huffing a soft laugh.

“Yeah-” She stops to nudge her purse with her foot. “Have a huge bottle in there, I took a few with my coffee. Now it’s a waiting game.” The girl laughs, a small smile spreading on her lips along with his grin. As he turned to face her more she leans inwards more with her elbow- her head still resting in her hand. “Indeed.. You could work at the hotel for a bit, do a payment plan.. something. I’m sure we could find something.”  Nala said before patting his arm with her free hand. “I’m sure you’re lovely. You’re attractive as hell and either actually want to treat her right and take her to my hotel or you’re just kissing ass.”

Amadaus let out a chuckle and a put a small smile on his face. He was amused by her confusion because she had a right to be confused. I mean it wasn’t exactly normal to see someone just sitting in a coffee shop looking at a police GPS. “I mean it’s kind of like a police scanner except instead of listening for where they are, I can see exactly where they are,” Amadaus explained. He then took a sip of his tea to refresh his mouth with moisture to continue speaking. “I mean if your driver didn’t break the law he wouldn’t be pulled over.” He said with a chuckle. “If you really want one just have someone hack into the Pansaw police station’s computer system. It’s not that hard just 3 fire walls and slight encryption. Nothing too big. Cost you probably 1,000 dollars at minimum probably” He said it like that was what he actually did. In reality all he did was get permission from higher ups to view them when he was working. It just so happened he got to use it when he wasn’t working because access was already accepted to his laptop.

Nala smirked a bit as the other explained. “That sounds totally illegal.” She says bluntly with a nod just after it all processes. “I mean- I feel like they don’t even want people to have scanners so you knowing exactly where they are.. Could be super awful in the wrong hands.” By his accusation she gives a fake gasp, placing a hand on her chest- fixing herself in the seat next to him. “My drivers do nothing wrong- the city just has creeps.” A firm nod punctuating her words. She honestly had no idea what drew her to talk to this person, but he was kinda weird- and it was pretty interesting. “That’s chump change, however- I don’t think it would look good with my name all over it. So I think I might just pass right over that jail time.”

Now Orion’s mouth literally fell open. “You– You can shift into a cat?”

Nala’s lips pursed for a moment and then she smiled, almost forced as she shrugged a bit. “I mean- yeah, if I desire it to be.” She laughed a bit. “Or what another person desires. Same way I can bring that cute dude that you saw back.” She said waving her hands in front of her. “I’m like magic.”

Alex’s eyes widened slightly, seeing the shield form. “Amazing,” he breathed as he moved closer to get a better look. “It looks like a hamster ball,” he laughed a little before tapping at the shield with his pen, curious how strong it was. “Do you know how much force it can stand up to or does that depend?”

“But it doesn’t go all the way around.” She said in almost defense. “It depends on how hard I focus. Emotions are strong and tricky things. I better be really passionate about living if it ever comes to a battle.” Nala teases a bit. “It also kinda works by blowing kissing that are filled with certain emotions. Like cupid.”

Quinn blinked at the girl, a little surprised by that. “Uh…thank you? Uhm. You might have a shot if I knew you a little better? I’m sorry, I’m not used to, uh, random flirting from strangers?”

“You’re welcome.” Nala said happily, giving a nod. “Oh- well yeah, going off tabloids probably wouldn’t be good. So hi- I’m Nala Carlisle, I run a hotel downtown and I love the color pink. That work for a little more knowledge?” She asks with a small smirk and then waves a hand at a the girl. “Oh c’mon, if you don’t talk to strangers how are you gonna make friends?”

“Think y’might be right on that one, darlin’,” he said with a chuckle, smirking a bit in amusement as he looked at her. “Ahh, that’s alright then. I’d maybe suggest not hittin’ the drink too hard next time though. Hangovers are a bitch.” At Nala’s question, Connor gave a little nod. “I do, Ms. Carlisle. Jus’ tryin’ to play it cool,” he teased with a grin. “The Carlisle is a beautiful hotel, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to afford to treat my girlfriend to a night there.”

“Oh- called it!” She says making an excited fist, pulling it down to her side, even though it was a bit weak from the hangover. “Trust me doll, I know hangovers suck- however this headache and hatred of loud noises will go away soon and that is ok if it makes the party great.” Nala nods, perking up a bit as his response hit her. “That response was great.” The girl said giving small nods with a slight ‘not bad’ expression on her face. “I’m sure we can work something out if this girl means so much to you. She’s very lucky.”

“I have no idea how Marsh will react to other cats, to be honest..” Orion replied, while he tried to remember if he had ever seen his cat have contact with other cats. “I know he hates dogs.”

“Well.. I could just shift to a cat if that would help. Something to attract him back.” Nala says trying to help but honestly just not sure how. She’d never owned a pet before and had little understanding of how animals actually acted considering her father hated pets in the hotel.

Amadaus looked up for his laptop at the girl that just randomly sat across from him. When his eyes met her’s he couldn’t say she was unattractive in the least bit. Amadaus focused on her lips as she spoke words. It was kinda odd that she was asking what was on his computer screen, but what was actually on his computer screen would probably be the creepy part. “Well telling a complete stranger what is on my computer screen is kinda weird. However I feel like if I do explain what’s on my computer screen it will be creepier than you asking. But if you have to know it’s just basic police activity throughout the city of Pansaw. It just tells me where all the police cars are dispatched.”

“But it got you talking.” Nala said matter-of-factly, her brows raised a bit and a smile on her lips. It took a second for her to actually process his words and her face lit up when they finally made sense in her head. “Wait- you mean you know the location of cops? Like their current location? That’s ..much different than a scanner..” She said in a mix of confusion and astonishment. “That’s both really cool- and something I wanna have, but it’s also really weird and how did you get that because I think I need one so I can avoid cops on my limo rides home from city parties. They always pull us over.”

Amadeus sat in the back corner of the coffee shop he was bunkered down in. In front of him sat his basic Lenovo laptop and a nice cup of elder tea. He was scrolling through the local police location feeds, because that’s what he does for fun. His taste in fun was weird because he was so devoted to his work. As the screen lit up with the location he took a sip from the cup of tea. It was so calm in the coffee shop. It was like the movies with people sitting around writing their screen plays and being slightly hipsterish.

Nala had just gotten her coffee and turned to see the man in the back corner of the shop. Certainly not a bad sight. However.. There was no real way she could ‘run into’ him without going out of her way, so instead she just did the very direct thing and went to sit with him. “You seem very interested in that laptop of yours. Mind me asking you to explain the screen without the whole thing sounding creepy?” She laughs a bit, sipping her coffee, waiting for the mans response.

Nala gave a small shrug. “I mean- I’d be cool with just knowing if I have any shot at all because you’re freaking gorgeous.”

He nodded again. “I’ll be glad to help however I can,” he offered, excited to see every aspect of her power especially if he got a personal hand in it. “Kiss projection?” he repeated hearing another ability. “That sounds like it could be dangerous, or is it really just you blowing someone a kiss because I think most people can do that.” He flashed her a teasing smile.

Nala smirked a bit, rolling her eyes  at his teasing before kissing her hand and waving her arm in a larger circle to then create a pink shield. It was like Plexiglas, tinted rose pink with a darker center that looked like metal had been colored. Rivets going around the outside of the center metal piece. The whole thing a pink mess that covered her from head to toe, as well as a large area to either side. “I can’t hear your jokes about blowing kisses behind my kiss projection that can make both solid and immaterial things ...and a bit more.”

“Interesting,” Alex repeated and wrote down more notes, he had already filled up five pages in the short amount of time he had been there. It was hard not to though, Nala and her abilities were so fascinating to him. “I would love to see more,” He nodded. “Now can you influence their appearance or is that predetermined by something else?”

Nala smiled, proud of her work and honestly how into all of it Alex seemed to be. “ There’s a bit more.. Some may need your help again though.” She says with a laugh before specifying the manifestations. “Oh- well I change them all the time. Rage can be a girl but I normally make her a man, same for the others. They’ve got no face so I guess it honestly doesn’t matter. It’s whatever my brain wants to do.” Nala shrugs. “Just tell me when you’re ready because aside from the kiss projection- the rest are something I need volunteers for.”

Foster had a busy day waiting tables, and he was getting tired. She walked up to her next table, “Hi my name is Foster and I will be your server for today, what can I get you to drink?” she asked, reciting her usual waitress speech.

Nala gave a small sigh, she always hated little diner places like this but when hunger strikes you go to what’s closest. “Nice to meet you, Foster, I’m Nala.” She comments- still looking to the menu. “I’ll start with a water- no lemon, and an Ice Tea, please.”

“Ah, years. Couple of years. Managed to retain my English charm though,” Connor said, giving her a little wink. He chuckled softly, shaking his head slightly. “So does that mean the event was good, or so horrifically bad that y’felt the need to get wasted?” He asked with a smirk. “You too, Nala Carlisle. I’m Connor Frayne, if ya want the full version.”

“Ahh- I think you retained the accent and just a bit of charm.” She teases with a wink back. Her expression changing to one of shock and excitement. “Oooh no, no it was so great that I wanted it to be better so I got plastered. It was a beautiful night.” The girl nods, though still holding her head. “Connor Frayne- lovely- do you know who I am, Connor?” Nala asks with her brow raising wondering if the man had noticed who she was after she said he full name.
