UNDERGROUND ARTIST: THE DANGEROUS SUMMER
If you haven’t already heard of The Dangerous Summer, they’re this week’s Underground Artist and you should give them a listen. TDS hail from Ellicot City, Maryland and are signed to Hopeless Records, like fellow Marylanders All Time Low.
Currently, they’re touring the U.S. and Canada with Weatherbox, Divided By Friday, and Ten Second Epic. Dates are listed on their Facebook page or on ours. A world tour is also planned for the rest of 2012. Basically, there’s no excuse to miss a show. Follow them on Twitter for more up to date information.
In July, 2011, the quartet released a full length album, War Paint. According to iTunes, they’ve been called “neo-emo” and “neo-alternative,” but decide for yourself. Watch the video from a Warped Tour last summer of “Where I Want to Be,” a song off their first album.
They sound like a combination of Taking Back Sunday and The Starting Line. Lead singer, AJ Perdomo, sounds like a softer version of Brand New’s Jesse Lacey. In case you don’t believe such an awesome band exists without your knowledge, The Dangerous Summer music library is available on Spotify. Or support the band and pick up one of their albums or EPs from Amazon.com or iTunes for less than $9.99.
