there was also the added danger and uncertainty it all might hold for the future, a future that was in no way set in stone. war was unpredictable and they might not even survive. even if they did, there was no telling how it would go.

it had taken her a while to notice, but as time went on and the thing between them grew bigger she had begun to notice a few things that she pretty easily recognised as patterns in äs nödt’s behaviour. the most prominent one as of late being nearly every time she flirted with another man -- or another flirted with her, his behavior tilted slightly. she hadn’t been able yet to figure out in what way it did, though. it had however stood out to her she seemed to receive even more presents she had already been getting from him when it happened. she definitely wasn’t ungrateful, she appreciated it a lot, but it had started to feel like he was maybe trying to keep her attention to him ? of course, these were just assumptions and she wasn’t going to call him out on it, but she did feel like reassuring him just in case she was right and going from his reaction.. it seems like she was.

her hand never left his hair, instead smoothing it over before resting on her legs now that he had sat up from his previous position on her lap. maybe they should have a talk about this.. it’s not as if she hadn’t been feeling any jealousy either, it was rare but sometimes it did flare up, even when it was truly unfounded to.
