Hark, The Deities!

So I saw a mootie make a post based on @plushien’s Night Raven Gods AU…I wanted to do one too. It seems fun!

Ahem…

Humans:

Shiyuu Oboete (?), Uri Bell, Celeste Bayou

Gods:

God of Mystery, the Neglected Deity. Danielle “Danny” Allison. An often forgotten god, yet still brings blessings to those that wish for a mysterious identity. Forgotten, but not gone.

God of Health, the Caring Canine. Ellis Honeysett. Many pray to this deity for protection from illness, or for a swift recovery. If they can do so, they will. Tied in with the God of Recovery, but not quite the same.

God of Willpower, the Stubborn Feline. Rocky. Once a stray cat, given godhood due to the sheer will to keep going. Protects those that are strong and stubborn, like he is.

God of Recovery, the Changed Bird. Sadiya Abadi. To those that wish to improve themselves, to change for the better, Sadiya is there to guide. Healing is included under this branch of their domain, though that is primarily the God of Health’s job. Similar to the god of Rebirth and New Beginnings, but not the same.

God of Fun, the Playful Puppy. Chase Crewel. Grants his blessings to those that live for joy, Chase is the most integrated among humans. Friendly and curious, he loves everything about humanity.

Goddess of Empathy and Animals, the Shy Pegasus. Yuume Shylock. Too shy to interact with humans directly, but still values their lives. Most comfortable with animals…and has some level of command over them.

God of the Earth, the Sprouting Kin. Clay Maandi. Brother to those that value the ecosystem. Those that are mindful of their environment find themselves on Clay’s good side.

Goddess of Wisdom and Courage, the Great Sage. Wuzhi Ai. Admired by warriors, a strong presence on the battlefield. Not a war god, but associated with battle regardless. Some say she’s even battled alongside humans! An expert strategist, too.

(Demi)God of Hope, the Curious Clownfish. Emma Leech. How is this one associated with the gods of Dread and Panic??? Adoption. That’s how. Present around humanity as much as possible, there to keep humans going when things seem dark.

Do you genuinely want your muse to be happy?

I genuinely want most of my muses to have happy endings and experience happiness periodically throughout their journey. But I will admit, I also want them to suffer so they can experience challenges and overcome them. I need that sweet sweet character development, and I fully subscribe to the theory of forging my characters in fire and beating them into shape just like a blade. I am not a merciful god, lol. But I do want them to have happy endings, with some exceptions. Namely Evan. He deserves a terrible ending for himself. Abel, I’m neutral on because he wouldn’t appreciate a happy ending even if I did give it to him. The rest tho, yes, I give them happy endings and chances at redemption for their shortcomings.

What do you think would make them most happy in life? 

For Alma, he just wants a peaceful life, but not a stagnant one. Nothing would make him happier than to spend his life learning everything there is to know about everything. Arda is very similar and wants to experience life, but also help people. Deep down, both Alma and Arda just want peace, I think. The only thing that would make Abel truly happy is if he were to somehow acquire a soul/sentience, but as he is now, he’s content, or at least complacent, with his life as it is. Gayle would be most happy if she were able to contribute something significant and groundbreaking to the scientific community without it backfiring in her face like her synthetics did. She would settle for finding a solution to the problems she’s created where everyone ends up happy though. Evan would be happiest if he could gain complete control over other people without ever having to deal with negative consequences (this is why he doesn’t get a happy ending). Errol is a little different, because what he thinks will make him happiest and what actually will make him happiest are two very different things. He wants power and control like Evan, but if he were to get it, he would let it go straight to his head and would go insane, which is actually one of his biggest fears. What would actually make him happy is meeting someone special that he could make a genuine, strong emotional connection with and having someone to care for besides himself for once. It would give him a sense of purpose and belonging that he lacks now. It’s something he’s given up on though, without even really trying, because he thinks it’s impossible. He doesn’t realize that he’s a low empathy psychopath, not a no empathy psychopath, and that he has a need to connect with others just as much as anyone, it’s just difficult for him so he’s been neglecting that need.

If you could tell your muse one thing, what would you tell them? 

I would tell Alma that he is good enough, just as he is, and that he will figure out who he is someday, but it’s okay if he doesn’t know right now. He’s still enough, even if he doesn’t know.

I would tell Arda that the world is sometimes cruel, but never to lose sight of her own kindness. Never let the cruelty of the world win and change her. Because that cruel world needs people who are kind in the face of everything awful more than anything.

I would tell Abel to listen to Alma when he says your logic is flawed, because Alma understands things that your logic and programing doesn’t take into account, and you need that human element to make sure your mission priorities don’t become corrupt.

I would tell Errol that he is not a monster, and that his thoughts do not define who he is. What he chooses to do with them are what matters, and he is in control of that. He gets to decide if he is good or bad, and it’s a choice he will have to make every day for the rest of his life.

I would tell Gayle that she needs to not be so hard on others, especially her synthetics, because it’s only pushing them away. I know she only wants what is best for them, but if she wants them to thrive, she needs to support them as individuals with the right to make their own decisions, not try to control them and force them to be what she wants them to be.

I would tell Evander to go eat a bag of dicks. :)

Motivations

1. Monev the Gale: Monev joined because he was trained from childhood to serve Knives. He knows nothing but how to use his body as a weapon. Without that, he is worthless.

2. E.G. Mine: This is the only Gung Ho Gun whose only motivation is legitimately to kill. Sure, money. But other than that? He craves death. As much as I make fun of him on this blog, if he had as much power as the rest of this, he could genuinely have been a problem. 3. Dominique the Cyclops: General distrust towards the human race, especially men. She also wanted a challenge considering her power. This made her want to be the strongest assassin. 4. Leonof the Puppet-Master: Lost his sanity when his lover died. Somehow thought it made sense to kill Vash for that and follow Knives.

5. Nicholas the Punisher: No choice in the matter. Sold/Adopted into Eye of Michael and raised/chemically altered into a human weapon. This is not my muse. For more information on this one you can reach out to @nicholas-wolfwood or another wolfwood mun

6. Hoppered the Gauntlet: His lover died in July. He was egged on by Knives that this was Vash’s fault (and by the rest of the planet of course.) So of course hunting Vash down was the natural decision. 7. Midvalley the Hornfreak: Already was an assassin with his band. Knives thought they were cool, but they declined his offer. He killed all of them but Midvalley and basically said “Join me or them” So he kept his life.

8. Gray the Ninelives: Honestly we know absolutely nothing about them.

9. Rai-Dei the Blade: Looking for the best fight and best challenge. Spouts about honor...also cheats.

10: Livio the Double Fang/11. Razlo the Tri-Punisher of Death: Just like Wolfwood, not really given a choice. However they were also teased with the idea that they wouldn’t hurt anyone innocent anymore because of their past. Even though that’s exactly what they were then trained to do. 12. Zazie the Beast: Zazie is a group hivemind of insects that inhabit Gunsmoke/NoMan’s Land. They want to destroy life because Humans are destroying their ecosystem. 13. Elendira the Crimsonnail: In the manga her motivation isn’t stated other than a devotion to Knives. I have my own headcanons to her which you are free to ask about but in short, she has an abusive childhood and feels as though she has been rescued. Now she is devoted to Knives. It’s a much longer story and this is a long enough post.
