Happy New Year! 2018 was a very packed year for me, I went to Norfolk again, East Sussex, The Good Food Show and even the Doctor Who Premiere! I thought I would share some of my favourite photos and I loook forward to the adventures I will have in 2019!
Merry Christmas!! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas this year!
Alnmouth
Alnmouth is a small town in Northumberland, and there isn’t really much there. I went for a short stroll down the beach, then off for a hot chocolate. It’s a sweet little seaside village that’s good for a walk and a cup of tea.

Southwell I visited Southwell one weekend to visit the craft fairs there, one being in the Minster and the other being in the Methodist Church.
Mansfield
A quick day out in the Midlands town of Mansfield, mostly for Christmas shopping. It was the first time I went out with my new draw string bag with ‘Time Lord’ written on it. Made by a good friend of mine, it’s lovely but apparently a ‘prototype’, if you can have a prototype bag that’s already been designed and used by lots and lots of people.
Anyway, I did make my customarily trip to Costa and…

Anyone remember the Doctor Who Premiere way back in September? Well, I was there!!! I got tickets!!!! It was so exciting, seeing all the actors and people involved in the new series of Doctor Who with many other Doctor Who fans. I got to Sheffield town centre around 12:30 where a queue was already starting, although it was short we decided to join it after visiting Costa because we were thirsty. The gates opened at 1:30 and we had to go through securtity checks, the guards were amused by my being there. I’m glad I put a smile on their faces. We waited for about an hour until people turned up on the Red Carpet and even longer until they walked passed me.
I was positioned behind a woman and a guy dressed as the Tenth Doctor, everyone stopped to do autographs with them and I managed to get pictures with many of them, the 13th Doctor Jodie Whittaker, Chris Chibnal, Bradley Walsh and Tosin Cole but I didn’t manage to get a picture with Mandip Gil as she was whipped passed us pretty quickly by her bodyguard (I think that’s who they were).
Jodie Whittaker was the last one passed us and she too was being whipped around because they were starting the cinema screening of ‘The Woman who fell to Earth’ late. But Jodie Whittaker tried to stick around as long as she could, standing infront of us and saying ‘I’ll stand here for as long as I can and you can take photos’. I thought that was very kind of her.
I thouroughly enjoyed my time there, especially because it was so close to where I lived. I was so happy and felt privelged to have gone and here are the rest of the photos from the day.

Welwyn Garden City is a very odd place, it’s upmarket shops stuck in 60s buildings in a very small town centre. They have their own Debenhams and John Lewis. It’s really wierd, but nice small and compact.
While I was there over Christmas it snowed! It was wonderful! Almost three inches. It wasn’t there the night before and then it was! So I decided to have a wander in the snow and I as always, had a camera on hand.

Edwinstowe
Robin Hood’s village is next to Sherwood Forest and is called Edwinstowe and they fully embrace that association. You can acutally walk from the edge of Sherwood Forest into Edwinstowe, which is what I did. It’s a very small town/village and it doesn’t take long until you’re on the main street. I found a fish resturant called ‘Robin Hood Plaice’ and what I assume is a pizza place called ‘Pizza…

Nottingham Christmas Fair
Last year I went to Nottingham when they had their Christmas Fair on. It was really nice with all the stalls designed as little snow covered log cabins. I love fairs like this, mostly because of all the food they have. They also have a really cozy atmosphere which makes me want to have a cup of hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. There was a stall selling chocolate covered crepes and…

Sherwood Forest
The visitors centre 2018
I finally went to Sherwood Forest! I love forests and parks! Especially on a cold day like this one was. They’ve been trying to build a new visitors centre at Sherwood for at least 10 years according to my friends, what you see in the photo on the left is what the centre looked like. It looks a bit worn and as if it’s been around since the 80s. When I went they were…

Cromer
Whilst in Norfolk I had a quick visit to Cromer, admittedly for the second hand bookshop. There’s loads around North Norfolk. I had a bit of a walk round and took this picture of the pier. A friend also picked up some crab for dinner. It was delicious.

Hastings
It was raining when I went to Hastings. It was one serious downpour that day. I spent most of it helping a friend find some birthday presents in the town centre, specifically the indoor shopping area.
In the middle of helping out with birthday presents I did pick up the complete First series of Doctor Who with Christopher Eccleston on offer in HMV. They were selling them all off cheaply, probably…

Thai Orchid, Battle
Whilst in East Sussex I went out with some friends to a resturant called Thai Orchid in Battle. It was a really nice place.
We had a shared starter of tempura battered squid, tempura prawns, chicken satay skewers, prawn srping rolls and some BBQ ribs. I had one of each. I loved the squid the best because, well, I really like squid. The satay was different to what you get in at a chinese, it was…

As a 15cm high Teddy Bear I find that I do run into some fairly specific problems travelling. Do you ever find yourself stuck sharing your space in the car with a flask full of coffee that’s twice your size and a lot heavier than you? Well here’s some problems I’ve had.
Sharing with this isn’t easy
Small tree in my seat
Packed pork pies… that I never finish
Same with sandwiches
No coffeee shop has a size for me
Trying on clothes…
Stickers are a problem too….

Heauxmoux Castle in East Sussex is certainly an interesting place, ok it’s really odd. You pay at a gate outside the car park to go into the grounds and then you pay at the Castle entrance for a tour of the Castle. We didn’t go in, as once you’ve seen one castle you’ve seen them all. The grounds however were very interesting and I had a good explore.
They had a rose garden that seemed to be devoted to sundials as well, there was a massive one in the middle of the garden. When I went in a couch load of OAPs turned up with thier walking sticks and walkers. It’s better than loads of school kids running round. At one stage I heard a Peacock and couldn’t work out where it was. Turned out it was hal way up a tree, didn’t even know they could fly. Well you learn something new everyday. There was also a Peahen running about.
It was a very hot day and I wanted to have a paddle in a tiny pond that was just the right size for me but decided against it when lunch was mentioned. My friends had packed a picnic and we each had a pork pie, which I as usual had to share with someone. They’d packed some sweet chilli peanuts and had a couple, even though I’m really susceptible to spice, they were really nice but you couldn’t eat many at one time.
The Magic Garden
They also have something called a Magic Garden. I don’t know what it was supposed to look like when well tended but this garden looked a little dead when I went. Most likely due to the recent heat wave England had been through, so it probably hadn’t been watered in a while. The whole garden was covered so that probably didn’t help. They did have some giant wooden mushrooms that I could sit on.
There were a lot of cheasnut trees as well, I managed to get a photo of me sitting in a hollow in one of them as many were very old, some were from the 1700s. One was very twisted because it was struck by lightning but I couldn’t tell which one it was as they were all like that.
I also found a wooden squirrel, not sure why it was there, there was nothing to explain why it was there. There was a cartoon squirrel underneath it in the style of other signs I’d seen around, so maybe it’s kids activity. It’s a nice place and I’m glad I went.
