Boy who self-sabotages for no reason at all
i found out that david bowie had an insanely beautiful wife wayyyy too late. i'm sorry but when somebody's wife looks like that? you bring that up first. before anything else. he has a beautiful wife AND he was a musician and queer and very stylish. that's the order of importance.
hands off!
buddy, you've got a big storm coming!!!!!!!!
drawing him as a teenager is so much fun. serizawa you are sooooo depressing yet brimming with hope and potential yesssss yessssssss
Fuck it, Kaori-sama
Colleen Moore’s fairy tale castle dolls’ house. Moore was one of the most successful silent film stars (famous for popularising the ‘Dutch boy’ bob), and she started creating this dolls’ house in 1928. She enlisted the help of professional planners and architects, such as Horace Jackson, the set designer at First National Studios. The entire house can be broken down into individual pieces and packed into specially designed shipping crates, and from 1935 to 1939 Moore took the dolls’ house on tour through the U.S. to help raise money for children’s charities, which proved hugely successful. Moore gave the dolls’ house to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago in 1949.

online yaoi&yuri comics and race
i know that it's because white artists are scared of representing black people wrong, but every time yaoi and yuri authors include a black character they are always (always!) dating someone white. it's like the race version of "the most butchest girl twitter can handle". like the most black a character can get in yuri or yaoi is someone that always dates white people and has no cultural clothing and talks in perfect textbook english and never ever talks or mentions the fact that their childhood and adulthood was probably different from their white partner's and friends'. i am not trying to accuse artists of being outwardly racist, but a little ignorant and possibly not doing all that they could.
this is partially pointed at miss lucid comics, who works from yaoi.biz. her most recent comics, the hunt and river st have nonwhite love interests.
sorry the pictures are so huge!
and this is good! i am not trying to be against representation! from what i have heard, people would rather have an imperfect representation than to have none at all.
but. one of them is a werewolf, who used to shift as a child, and used to have no control over that kind of thing. so this nonwhite character went into episodes when they became uncontrollably strong and rabid, in a small town, and this experience didn't effect them at all? nothing to note there? in the series he was sent away because he got uncontrollable around the main character, so he went abroad to learn to control his wolf powers or whatever, but his experience as a nonwhite immigrant also didn't effect him? nothing to note? really? nothing that effects how you feel about your belonging in the world, your community, who you trust?
i have less complaints with river st, since it technically takes place mostly in a fictional world, and in new orleans, where black people held a bit more power than in other parts of the u.s. but like, he still has killmonger locs and we still barely know anything about his family. this might be a sign of just a writing flaw, but 2 books in we should know more about the background of the love interest. the white character is always the author and the reader stand-in with the complicated story. the love interest is just the accessory. which gets a little problematic when it's your first time representing people of color on this scale. in river st the black character is supposed to be the main character, but the story is mostly interested in the perils of the white character. we know that the main character is from a long line of reapers, seemingly well enough off, and used to be an alter boy. that's interesting! and that experience could be elaborated on looking through the lens of this character being black.
and once again, not to hate on miss lucid. she has always included people of color in her major comics (avialae, impact theory, the hunt, and river st) and it clearly seems to be something she cares about, but i think she can do even better going forward. i'm not trying to say they need to talk exclusively in aae and have grills, but having their background be incorporated into their character in some way besides their looks would be good.
tldr: i'm upset that a stupid yaoi comic isn't the first season of interview with a vampire. in attempts to be as non-offensive as possible and not make the author uncomfortable we are getting boring and basic portrayals of people of color.
one of the best eras of r&b in my opinion was when it got really sparkly like in the 2000s. like it sounds like how that aesthetic videos of honey and gels from the 2020s looked like.

Disney is doing crazy things in the japanese mobile game sphere rn
you may be familiar with disney twisted wonderland, the gacha game in which various disney villains are used as direct inspiration for handsome anime boys. well that game was so successful that disney is trying to do it again but this time they're just animeboyifying whatever
here's mickey, goofy, donald, and chip & dale. yeah they turned mickey & friends into anime boys. they're an idol unit or something. they're technically not anime boy versions of the source characters, they have different names. mickey's guy is "Neo Michel". not michael, michel, like he's french. chip & dale are "Ruska Moncrief" and "Ranka Monk", they have different last names, they're not brothers anymore so that they can be yaoibait instead, anyways this post isn't actually about these guys I'm just setting the stage for the actual humanizations I wanted to show you
They also did monsters inc. And. Well it's obvious from the designs who mike and sully are. but you will also notice. the blonde one on the left. with glasses. monsters inc is kind of famously about just the two guys so they didn't really have a lot of other non-villain characters to take anime boys inspiration from, I guess, so, well,
Yeah it's her. they made an anime boy version of the mean receptionist slug. her name is roz btw, as all of boygachagame twitter has become extremely aware of in the past 3 days as we speculated prior to the release of the full image who tf the third guy was. the anime boy's name is "noah slugger". at this point no parody of the types of things gacha games will make gijinkas of will ever be able to live up to what disney is officially spending their own real money on designing
russian ballet and russian sports are an important role in degrading childrens' view of their own consent, normalizing the feeling of physical pain and of pain being administered by a higher official, and of prioritizing uniformity above all else. it is a tool of the government like everything else.

don't like or trust americans who are too interested in Лайка (Laika). like, you guys know that the u.s. has plenty of its own animals that they have sent into space to die right? it just seems like you are ignorant on the topic you supposedly care about.

Not gonna lie this makes me a bit irritated. Here's the real version of this photo:
Instead of a cutesie reference to film censorship it was an explicit statement of defiance of Maryland's criminalization gay sex, which was not repealed until 2002. This wasn't a guy saying "Oh they can't put what I do in the movies according to a completely voluntary industry code" he was saying "The State of Maryland wants to put me in jail for being gay and having gay sex."
It wasn't a guy being cheeky about sex in an ambiguous, cute way. It was a man stating, in no uncertain terms, that a whole state of the United States considered him a criminal for being homosexual.
