whoever it was who made that comic that implied that drifter was turned by a vampire who could transform into a gator instead of a bat (and by extension drifter is the same), thank you for putting that image in my head i canNOT get it out. it fits with how we never see any bat imagery around drifter too
and also just like imagine get chased by a gator and you do the little zigzag thing to throw it of and it runs straight towards you instead of following the path like gators are supposed to. you're DEAD
anyways this is now a headcanon i hold that the 'high society' vampires are all bats because it's the most 'sophisticated' but they're all quite a bit weaker because it's kinda like. vampiric inbreeding. they all bit each other. like there's no biodiversity it's just bats everywhere
