“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who’s going to stop me.”
prcdiigal:
“ must be tough, being related to such a —” draco tastes the word in his mouth before he uses it, “ disappointment. ”
there’s no sympathy or concern in his tone, though his words may warrant it if they were coming from anyone but him, instead dripping with a poisonous smirk. usually, draco wouldn’t even bother giving so much as single look to the weasley girl, but he’s feeling playful after the landslide victory against gryffindor. “ although i suppose it runs in the family, doesn’t it? ”

Ginny was well aware that Ron’s pride had already taken a bit of a beating at the loss of the game ------ what she was thankful for, however, was that he wasn’t here to hear Malfoy’s gloating. That didn’t however mean that it didn’t royally piss her off. Not only him insulting her brother, but then her entire family. He was just like his father. She’d been there... At the book store before she started her first year, when Malfoy’s dad and her own had argued the definition of disappointment to Wizards.
Features firm and brows knitted together ----- she wasn’t scared of the Slytherin, if he thought that she was going to be. “ Would that be just like how being arrogant and vile must run in yours? ” She then quipped back, not afraid to give back as good as she got.

❝Butterbeer’s on me. – Or hell, get whatever you want. Firewhiskey’s on me too.❞ The corner of Percy’s mouth turned up into a smile. He knew that his siblings were still adjusting to the idea of him being back in their lives. It wasn’t that he was trying harder to win them over, it was just that Percy had changed. Well, not too much, because he hated change. Enough to let his sister have a glass of firewhiskey if she wanted. The last five months had been extremely difficult to get through for multiple reasons, but they were all suffering the same loss, the unwanted change. Through all of that, Percy did want to make an effort get close with his siblings again. He felt like he had missed Ginny growing up. So he made her promise to meet with him during some of her trips to Hogsmeade. Before Ginny could protest or be too shocked, Percy flagged down Madame Rosmerta for two glasses of Firewhiskey.
It was certainly strange, heading down to Hogsmeade on the weekend to meet with Percy. Not Ron, not George, Percy. Then again... Ginny wasn’t sure if there was anything that didn’t feel strange anymore. The war had taken so much, and now she was back at Hogwarts to finish her education like nothing had happened. But amongst all the rebuilding, there’s the wall, the spot where Fred... And she knows that back at home, the burrow isn’t so full of laughter and life anymore, there’s just a family of aching hearts and only half of the dynamic duo that were Fred and George left. Ginny looked up to all of her brothers, for different reasons, but she couldn’t deny, it did feel like she didn’t have as much of a connection with Percy.
Adding to the strange... Did he really just order her a Firewhiskey???
She gawped at him for a moment, before she settled on offering him a small smile. Despite the loss they all felt, she was trying not to let it influence absolutely everything. “ Well, I guess there’s a first time for everything. I wasn’t expecting you to let me have a Firewhiskey. ” She didn’t mean the comment in a mean way, so she offered him another light smile, hoping he understood.

The summer before seventh year was going to be the best one yet, Albus decided. He had his band, his boyfriend, and so many possibilities. His band was getting larger, better. They had done many gigs, each one having more and more people. He was excited, the concept of doing this full time all the time felt like a dream. It was a dream he wanted. Working on his summer homework at the kitchen table didn’t seem to be filling that dream. He could hardly see how he would need to know some of these elements in his life as a rockstar. The more he had to focus on transfiguration homework, the more he wanted to stop doing it.
He let out a huge sigh, rubbing bis fingers through his hair as his mother came in to kitchen. “Mum,” Albus groaned, setting down his quill. “Transfiguration methods are an absolute pain in the arse to write out,” he complains. He was already exhausted, and he has yet to even get through a paragraph of his work. It just seemed to be more difficult lately to focus on school. The more he tried, the less he wanted to continue his NEWT practicing. At 17, he was ready to be done. He was ready to hit the road with his band. They were given an opportunity…..
“Mum,” Albus draws out. He knows its ambitious to put healing second as a career. He knows bands aren’t the easiest career option. But he also knows he needs to grasp this opportunity. He needs to try.“Have you gotten my school things yet?” He wonders.
She’d headed into the kitchen to make a start on dinner, Harry would hopefully be home soon from work unless he had been called out to something important, and the kids had all been occupying themselves. First, when he’d simply complained about his school work, she’d offered him a small sympathetic smile, lips pressed together, and she had been about to make a start on getting what she needed out of cupboards, when he then called her again, and then asked if she had gotten any of his school supplies yet, Ginny turned back around, and moved over to the table he sat at, pulling out the chair opposite him so that she could sit.
Her eyes scanned over the parchment he’d been writing, feeling a brief wave of nostalgia at the school work. Of course, when it had been coming up for her to be heading into her seventh year, things had been very different, they had all just come fresh out of the war, out of loses and heart ache. “ I wouldn’t let McGonagall hear you say that. ” She joked lightly with him, before she crossed her arms in front of herself and tilted her head.
“ Why do you ask? ” She questioned, rather than answering his own. Ginny had an idea of where this was going, but she wanted to know what was going on in her boy’s head. She knew very well that he was ambitious, that he had plans that were far more adventurous than being a healer, and while the mother in her wanted to tell him to just push through, that it would be wise to have a back up plan, have those qualifications, she also had watched Fred and George, and later... Just George, make a success of themselves without academic means.

GLANCING OVER , ginny had been asked by molly to check over the cauldron of stew as she went to go find something from the pantry . remus had been washing up some dishes for molly , given that sirius was CURRENTLY upstairs with buckbeak . it was just he && a few other members of the order in the kitchen . poor ginny , having been the youngest was ROPED into helping her mother as usual .
glancing up from the soapy water , remus frowned . ‘ stews aren’t usually meant to change colour , ’ he told her , moving from the sink && wiping his hands dry on a dishcloth . at least , from his own personal EXPERIENCE they didn’t . glancing over the cauldron , he felt his brow crease almost immediately , drawing into sharp focus his lined face . pulling out his wand , he tapped the side of the black edge && the stew sizzled . ‘ i have a FUNNY feeling your brothers have been testing their latest merchandise on - OH ! ’ he jumped back , pulling ginny with him as the cauldron gave a small pop ! && shrunk to about the size of a frog . leaving the mass of stew left behind on the work surface .
remus grimaced at the mess , though SUPPRESSED a small smirk playing at his cheek . ‘ joke cauldrons , ’ he managed a small laugh as he gave his wand a flick , the mess transferring to another cauldron . ‘ don’t tell your mother . ’
Ginny couldn’t deny that it was beginning to get a little frustrating. She knew that she was the youngest, yes, but she’d also much rather be off with her brothers or discussing something serious that was going on, that they were here for. She was capable and she was strong, and that was something else that she was very aware of. Having grown up with six brothers, you kind of learned to be just like them.
The stew had been changing colours, and the girl did have a sneaky suspicion that the twins had likely been up to no good ------ nothing new there, but she had asked Remus in the interest of being sure. She had watched curiously as Remus tapped the cauldron and the contents sizzled, and when he then pulled her back as it popped and left a mess in it’s wake, she couldn’t help the fact that she had a grin on her face that almost matched those of the other Weasley childrens’.
“ Trust me, I know not to tell her. If you think that getting a howler from her in The Great Hall is scary enough, getting the live version of it is much worse. ” The youngest commented, looking up at him, still sporting a grin. “ We’re going to have to start the stew from scratch, though, aren’t we? ”
“The thing about growing up with Fred and George is that you sort of start thinking anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.”

Albus grins nervously at his mother, rubbing at the piercing. He thought it looked cool, and while he knew his mother probably didn’t favor it, there wasn’t much she could do. He had done it, and he didn’t often do too much. He was a rather introverted person who aside from his muggle friends or Scorpius, didn’t venture off too much.
“I don’t know,” Albus tells his mum honestly.Despite not being very social, he wasn’t exactly innocent in lack of detentions.”But if it’s just a uniform violation–“ Albus blushes at his confession. He scruffs at his hair again, letting it fall into his eyes. “Not a big deal, Mum,” he says, peering from behind his shaggy locks. “I get them before.”
Brows raised at her son, she knew that she shouldn’t encourage any sort of mischief from him, not that he was a particularly rebellious boy -- he wasn’t, he was rather quiet and introverted honestly. Maybe that’s why she didn’t mind it so much. Right now, even if it was nervously so, he was grinning at her and that was something.
A sigh passed the woman’s lips as she pulled out a chair at the kitchen table and sat down, watching him for a moment before she smiled back at him. “ You know... You might not be exactly like my brothers --- your uncles, but just then, saying it’s not a big deal, you really reminded me of them. ” Especially Fred and George... She got lost in her thoughts for a moment, of course things were different now that Fred... But they had never been worried as such about getting into trouble.

“I don’t believe that’s any of your business, Weasley.” Blaise murmured, closing the book with a snap as he turned to face her. Ginevra Weasley was a pain in his side, regardless if she was putting her nose where it didn’t belong or not. A beauty to look at, fleeing thoughts on it though because as it stood: he could not let himself go there. Blood traitors. A dreadful waste. “Is there something that you needed?” The male inquired, a single eyebrow raising as he watched her.
They’d been sat in the library, happened to end up at opposite sides of the same desk, and yes, she’d let curiosity take over for a moment... She liked to know things, know what made people tick, and she wasn’t afraid of asking questions, even if he was someone who she got the feeling shared different beliefs than she did. He seemed irritated however at her speaking to him, and her eyes flickered back to her own book, her brows raising slightly. “ I was just... Making conversation --- or trying to, with a fellow Slug Club member. ”

His lips press together as pure terror fills his expression as he thinks about the lawn decoration that he had accidentally blown up, quite literally. He had helplessly, gathered what he could find which was only a piece or two. Not nearly enough to use a spell and weave the item back together. The piece that their mother fawned over daily ever since his father had bought it for her. A beautiful, colorful owl lawn decoration that would display a rainbow when the sun hit it.
Ron’s mother scared him more than anything him and his friends had come across, thus far. He’d rather face the spiders again at this point. “The owl. I may have - well you see, it was an accident. But I need your help. We have to find her a new one you see.”
Eyes watched her brother as he spoke, took note of the look of fear etched onto his expression, and as he mentioned what he had broken, or rather ---- had an accident with, eyes then flickered down to the shards of the broken owl in his hands. The look of fear on his face was likely well warranted, Ginny knew that their mum would be far from happy if she found out what had happened.
“ Do you have any idea where dad got it from to get another? ” She questioned, reaching to pluck one of the shards from his hands, looking it over. “ How exactly did you break it? What were you doing? ”

Brow arched as she looked over to her brother, mind beginning to work through ideas of what mess he could have gotten himself into this time. Malfoy was an odd one. Wasn’t always the nicest or most pleasant person, and given her loyalty to Harry Potter, and being a member of the Weasley family, it practically made them natural enemies. It surprised her, however, to hear those words come from him, from someone who always seemed to make the point that he was better than everyone else and that only the opposite of disappointment was good enough for him. Not that it took away the things that had been said or done, but perhaps there was more to Malfoy than he let on.
“ Is it? ” She questioned, looking at him with disbelief for his statement — it certainly wasn’t the stance that she took on things. “ I don’t think so. I think that if you put your mind to something then you can achieve it. If you expect disappointment then disappointment is what you’re gonna get. ”

Bill’s bravery was something that Ginny had always looked up to. There were qualities that each of her brothers possessed that she admired and grew up watching. But Bill was kind and good, and brave. During her first year at Hogwarts, she had found herself being used as a puppet for Tom Riddle, almost losing her life in The Chamber of Secrets, and though she survived, there were still the effects of being possessed by none other than The Dark Lord.
It wasn’t something she talked about, nonetheless. She was sure that she could be brave, that it didn’t need to be spoken about because it had happened and everyone knew, and what was the point in going over it again? But when Bill said that, started talking about fear, she wondered if maybe he’d picked up on something? Was she just scared to talk about it? That was the thing, Ginny didn’t want to have fear, or be scared… She wanted to prove that she could be strong and brave like her brothers, she wanted to prove that she could get by just like them.
“ I don’t think I’ve ever seen you scared, Bill. ”
