Alarm Management Life-cycle as defined in BS 62682. An Alarm Management Life-cycle should be continuous, with optimum performance being provided by the system at all times.

First week back in URENCO in 2016.
Small Assessment on the performance of the alarm management system completed
Interactions with key stakeholders in the project to focus 2016 objectives.
BS 62681 - Alarm Management British Standard
The British Standard for Alarm Management can be found here for those with access to the MMU library. The standard is the newest on alarm management, and it is British. It will therefore be looked into further when development of the solutions to problematic alarms continue

Final few months of the university year ahead... Effort will be increasingly placed into the project to ensure that it is on the road to success.

This was the last full working week of 2015. Priorities therefore laid outside the Project.

Week Ending 13.12.2015
Main focus was to submit the intermediate project report for assessment. Further to this time was spent developing solutions to the problematic alarms on the Plant Control System.

Week Ending 06.12.2015
This week focused on the publication of an intermediate project report presentation. As mentioned in earlier posts the intermediate project report was completed on Prezi, online presentation software.
Alongside the completion of the presentation, time was spent on further analysis of stale alarms and providing guidance to departments on possible fixes to these problems
Week Ending 29.11.2015
This week focused on the collation of information for the production of my intermediate project report. along with this time was spent on progressing the fixes to the standing alarms that had been identified. As my time is a limited resource, these fixes were implemented by Plant Maintenance Resource. They completed several of the fixes and updated me when the works was complete.
Meeting with supervisor.
Met with Chris yesterday to discuss the changes in my project. Less focus on one system and an overall approach will be given to solve the problem.
Project report - intermediate.
Project report for assessment in December has begun to be drafted! 😀
Week ending 22.11.2015
Great progress for my final year project. Solutions proposed for a problematic alarms. Re design of control will eliminate one problematic alarm. Other standing alarms have been tackled using a range of maintenance activities. Delivered both by myself and as actions to other site departments where the responsibilities lie.
