Yesterday I had the idea to draw the Papas as bats. So I sketched some stuff. Mainly copia and terzo, but I'll do Secondo and primo too because it's so fun.
I tried to imply some of their outfits into the design like hat shape. Also based copias wings on his dracopia outfit :)
For this illustration the coincidence is quite funny.
It's a concept idea I had last year, as usual I did a quick sketch and left it for later.
Then at the beginning of September I got the urge to finally draw it, (Also to provide a little entertainment for those who don't follow my project on Ko-fi), so I improved the skull pile idea by putting decaying skeletons in motion instead. And the date of my wips on instagram proves it, it was the day before the LA show where there was this coregraphy with skeletons lifting Copia off the ground.
Like I said, perfect timing. Pure coincidence. Hehe.
The band Ghost is so fucking funny to me. Their frontman currently looks like this:
Or some version of a horny goth clown, but the guy underneath it has got the wettest saddest eyes I've ever seen. Just look at him:
This man admits to being very sensitive and cries at the drop of a hat.
He has a wife and kids.
He wears the costume because he doesn't like the way he looks on stage as a rockstar.
He treats the audience like his children. They're officially called the children of Ghost for that and also because of the play on "children of god."
The band literally fucks around on stage while riffing this badass music. They go through physical comedy skits every concert like the three stooges. For example:
Two demons throw guitar picks at each other when they get angy.
One guy grinds and licks the stage like a cat in heat.
One of them shakes their tits at goth clown man and scares him shitless.
One of them twirls goth clown man like a ballerina as he dances by them.
Several of them slap goth clown's ass when he waddles by.
He created the band to make people happy, to celebrate being a fucking weirdo because he always felt left out, and to make fun of Christianity because it makes people feel bad. He lost his older brother, and it tore him up so bad that the music he made as a result launched him into a worldwide music career.
This man ends every concert "ritual" with three things:
1. Be nice to each other
2. Help each other
3. Go fuck yourself
(Literally and figuratively)
Their music is 70% "fuck me I'm so horny", 10% "I love you so much" and 20% "ethereal badass metal".
Look at how much fun he's having, dude.
It's literally just a rock band filled with the nicest people on earth wearing costumes like a Shakespearean play. And all they do is make up funny little lore stories and serve cunt.
“Copia, would you save me if I was kidnapped by ghosts?”
All is quiet in the bedroom for several seconds, the question hanging in the air before Copia rolls over, his eyes bleary from sleep as he looks at you.
“Eh…what?” His tired face screws up in confusion. “Why are ghosts kidnapping you?”
“Don’t think too much into it, just answer the question.”
Copia has the good nature to look amused by your early, early morning question, his arms wrapping around you to pull you across the mattress, squeezing you to him like a teddy bear as he rests his cheek just above yours.
“Mmm, I would be very sad, amore,” he mumbles, closing his eyes as he nuzzles sweetly into your skin. “Very angry that ghosts took you from me.”
“So what would you do?” His sweet embrace is rapidly drawing you back to sleep, your voice soft.
“Ah, la risposta è semplice. I would summon an entire demonic army to save you and deliver the ghosts unto Satan,” Copia heaves a sleepy sigh, his voice growing quieter. “Their souls would burn in the pit in eternal hellfire.”
You stir and twist in his embrace to look at him. “Wait, you can do that?”
Copia hooks a leg around yours and readjusts you, his body like a weighted blanket to calm your racing little mind. He drags the covers firmly over you both. “Go to sleep, amore.”
You fall into silence for several seconds.
“I love you, Copia.”
A lingering kiss to your forehead, a soothing thumb across your brow. “And I love you, so very much,” he says.
💧Mist is the og ghoulette, the one who was "one of the guys". I made her with more ghoulish features, including sharp edges, but still has a sense of femininity to her through her mannerisms
🌪️ I made Cirrus tall, and rolled up both her trousers and shirt to make her more playful. I did the era IV masks to accomodate my vision of them and made her hair shorter.
☁️ Cumulus has that soft warm vibe, so I made her curvier and her hair puffy and long as well. I added more soft edges to her unlike Cirrus.
☀️ I embraced the steampunk/dieselpunk aesthetic of Impera with Sunny, giving them the bronze accent. Similar to mist, I made them look more ghoulish in appearance, but with less edge.
❄️ Aurora is an albino (an idea that occured to me quite recently). And she's the smallest ghoulette of them all.
