2015/2016 in questions
I was going through my Gmail inbox and I found 2 interesting posts of mine: 2010 and 2011 in questions. These posts brought back SO many memories and forgotten stories (and made me realise how much I've grown up over the years), so I decided to write down my current replies to these questions. Hopefully, in couple of years I will be glad I did this :)
My replies will be mostly from 2015, some from Jan-April 2016.
Where did you begin 2015/2016?:
2015 at my friend's cottage in Necpaly, near Martin, celebrating New Year's Eve with my boyfriend and friends. 2016 in Prague, celebrating NYE with another bunch of friends in our new "hometown".
What was your status by Valentines Day?
Taken and very happy. Both years, with the same partner (in crime).
Were you in school anytime this year?
2015: Jan-May - got my Master's degree at the end of it all
Did you have to go to the hospital?:
Not that I remember... and if I did, it was only visiting relatives.
Did you have any encounters with the police?:
I don't think so.
Where did you go on vacation?
Spent the whole summer 2015 in Prague (searching for a job, but let's call it a vacation :D). And also end of May-June, just enjoying life, hiking, rafting, etc. And in the summer: spending time outside with friends by the lakes, in parks... but 2016 will be my travel year! I'm going to Mallorca, Barcelona (with colleagues) and to Paris + Disneyland with my better half.
What did you purchase that was over 100 dollars?:
My rent every month? lol. And sleeping bag, tent, and probably some tickets to events / money needed for cool long weekend events with friends (e.g. rafting).
Did you know anybody who got married?
Many friends (YES, I'm THAT age already, lol). But most importantly, my boyfriend's sister, and his younger sister is getting married in 2016.
Did you know anybody who passed away?:
Yes, my auntie's father - a great great man.
Did you move anywhere?:
YES! Prague, baby! I've been living here since July 2015. (been living in Hostivar - end of the world and since mid March 2016 I've been living in Vinohrady)
What sporting events did you attend?:
I guess I was a spectator for some (I was also a hostess at 2 football games in Prague) and I started running yesterday, let's see how long will it last :) And we went to Paintball game in summer, going again this weekend (and also to Lukohra - paintball kind of game, but with bow and arrows).
What concerts/shows did you go to?:
Not many, I guess. Because I don't recall anything, boo. NO, I do! I went to see Ed Sheeran in 2015 and it was super awesome when it comes to his music, but the fans... crazy teenagers, screaming all over the place, and we had no water, anxiousness all around. But Ed was amazing! AND ALSO, another dream came true (how could I forget) - Take That! In Vienna at the end of the year, lovely small gig, older well-behaved audience, we had so much fun. I was supposed to go see my babies Mumford and Sons in May 2016 (a dream of mine for years), but we're going to Mallorca then :( #SoSad. But we fell in love with musicals with Matusko (my bf), we went to see Jesus Christ Superstar, Carmen, Dracula, Prizrak Londyna, going to see Addams Family today! And hopefully many more to come :)
Describe your birthday:
I don't remember that much anymore. But I know I was in the process of searching for a job in Prague and I was in Prague for couple of days and then at home in Slovakia for couple of days. I got a nice cake from my family and we celebrated together, nothing huge. But I remember I got a hideous picnic bag from my bf (I'm still laughing, because I haven't used it yet.. and also because he's usually quite good at giving presents).. oh well, at least he loves me very much :)
What is the one thing you thought you would not do, but did, in 2015/2016?:
My life has turned upside down over the past couple of months.. in April-May 2015, all I could think about was finals and learning and how the hell are we going to work out where are we going to be/live with my boyfriend after school. And what will I do, where will I live, will I stay in Slovakia or will I make a huge step and move to a different country? I moved to Prague in the summer, and I can honestly say I made a great decision, I am very happy, challenged, got a great starting job for my career and I am finally (after almost 3 years) living in the same city as my bf (almost), so our relationship has the means to grow. I didn't think I would do this, but I did and I am overwhelmingly happy (so far). Let's see, what the future brings.
What has been your favorite moments?:
All of the things I wrote about above. And also - meeting McFly, I mean - come on! Even though I look awful in every single picture and I got super shy, I am happy I got to meet them after years of being a fan and hundreds of euros being spent on plane and concert tickets over the years. And my favourite moments of 2015/2016 - moments of love, friendship, laughs, appreciation, support. I am truly happy to be surrounded with such amazing partner, family (+his family) and friends.
Any new additions to your family?:
My boyfriend's niece :) And if we get married sometime, it will be my niece, too! So yay, she's so tiny and cute.
What was your best month?:
ALL OF THEM. No, but really, many months of 2015 were really challenging and difficult and I cried a lot of despair, but I am so lucky that it all worked out well in the end. The most challenging May (learning and the stress of finals) and July - August (stressful and desperate job search) and the best?... probably July 2015-present, all the months I spent living in Prague. I had some rough moments in my relationship, in job search, in my loneliness etc, but even though I am happy in this very moment (yeah, writing down this super long post at work, lol)
Who has been your best drinking buddy?:
My boyfriend and his ex-classmates, our current Prague friends. Spent NYE and some other (crazy and not so crazy) drinking nights with them :) Most remarkable so far - rafting weekend, NYE and Kubo's 25th bday
Made new friends?:
Yeah, friends of my boyfriend.
Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?:
My child home, my adult home - Prague. And couple of months in Trnava - university.
Change your hairstyle?:
No, I never do. Just let my hair grow longer. Should probably do something about that.
Have any car accidents?:
No, thanks God for that.
How old did you turn this year?:
23 in 2015, getting old.
Do you have a New Years resolution?:
I don't usually do that, but this year I had 4 goals: go to gynaecologist (check), try to get fitter/healthier - work out more (kind of check, started running YESTERDAY, lol and I'm planning on doing yoga in the park starting in May 2016), get an English language certificate (haven't even started) and maybe start with engagement sessions to work on our relationship (not yet started, need to get engaged first and that's not happening yet, either :) ).
Do anything embarrassing?:
I'm sure, I did. But luckily, not anything serious - just some little mess ups at work.
Buy anything new from eBay?:
I don't think so. I try to think, before buying... all those cheap earrings I never wear were enough.
Get married or divorced?:
No, still waiting to get engaged :)
Get arrested?:
No.
Been snowboarding?:
No, I can’t do that.
Did you get sick this year?:
Yes, I did couple of times. Nothing serious, thankfully. But my bosses at work were super nice to me when I got sick at the end of the year (after our cold rafting weekend) and they let me to work from home, which helped a lot.
Are you happy to see 2015 end?:
It's already April 2016, so idk, really. 2015 was challenging, 2016 runs too quickly, we will see what the future holds.
Did you visit any countries?:
Not many in 2015, but as I wrote couple of questions back.. I'm going to Mallorca, Barcelona, Paris and Disneyland Paris this year. And hopefully somewhere else in the summer, too.
What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015? :
Engagement ring, maybe? :) I don't want to rush things bud after 3 years and * months I guess it would be a right time.. soon. I'm (im)patiently waiting, hopefully my boyfriend ask me THE question soon.. but what is the most important - it needs to be his own decision, engagement isn't something you can force and if you truly believe in long lasting relationship, you don't want your partner to be in marriage because you forced them into it, because you were too impatient and selfish to give them more time. Please Paula, be patient, it will be worth it :)
Will any date from 2015 stay detached in your memory forever? :
Hopefully every single day my dearest said he loved me, such a cliché.. I know, but he really means the world to me. AND hopefully the end of Kubo's bday party, I've never felt more love before.
What was your biggest achievment of 2015?:
Moving to Prague, getting a solid job (in marketing, yahoo!), living on my own, adulting every single day, moving to Vinohrady. In general, being successful and happy (in my professional and personal life).
What was your biggest failure? :
Being so freaking jealous. My poor little baby. Hope I will someday learn to have complete trust.. and be a good gf and not a crazy biatch (sometimes), lol.
Did you suffer illness or injury? :
Not that I'm aware of. Not anything serious.
What was the best thing you bought in ‘15/16?:
Tickets to see Ed Sheeran and Take That live. And also tickets to musicals.
Did your behavoir change over the year? :
I grew up. SO MUCH. But I still have a long journey ahead of me, I think.
Are you happier than this time last year? :
This time last year I was desperate, so I'm sure I am, lol. I'm all settled and I was hopeless this time last year, I had no idea where I would end up and look at me now :)
What song will remind you of 2015/2016? :
I don't think I have a specific song for this year, but these are my dream wedding dance songs :D Ed Sheeran, Frozen, Carmen
What did/will you do for Christmas ‘15? :
Spent it with my family, as every single year. Went to visit my bf's family too, they are so lovely and so good to me :)
Did you fall in love in 2015? :
With Prague. And with my dearest, couple of times :)
Did you get your heart broken in 2015?:
In couple of moments, nothing long-lasting, we worked through it luckily.
Favorite TV program of ‘15?:
Game of Thrones, Vikings, Family Guy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and many more. I don't have much time to catch up with new episodes anymore, though.
Do you hate anyone now that you didnt hate this time last year? :
I dislike some people (I shouldn't though), I try to work on it so I don't hate/dislike anyone, because it's not nice.
What was the best book you read and/or movie you saw?:
book: Anne of Green Gables series (is that the correct title?) and some Christian books.
movie: idk! What have I become, though? Not remembering good movie's titles? #DisgustedWithMyself lol
What was your greatest discovery? :
That I matter and can do great things. I feel loved and appreciated. (and my crazy discovery: the price of engagement rings, I almost fainted lol)
Who was the best new person you met? :
My bf's friends, mostly Kubo and Patka. And Nela and Kondelovci, not new people but old friends who are now closer to me than ever, because they also live in Prague.
Who did you wish you did not meet? :
I don’t know.
Who was your best friend? :
My amazing bf, during uni my university friends, my family, my bf's family, my friends in Prague, my ex-neighbours and many more good people in my life.
Who was your enemy? :
I really hope I don’t have enemies.
Who do you miss?:
My family. And those times when I wasn't a serious adult :')
