And
I love his "what the hell is wrong with you" face
Caught episode 3
once again I should be watching this on a computer I can take screenshots on, Paul looks SO GOOD 😭
excuse the tacky photos of my tv but HELLO
Allan really does the Big Wet Eyes thing very well
I'm paying attention to the plot, I swear, I just
Williams in her beach getup 😍 Hawco is really delivering on the "cars, hot people, paul gross is there"
Roy: "Lookin' good, partner"
KC: *looks Roy up and down and can't find a single complimentary thing to say*
Some excellent needle drops in this show
YESSSSSSSS THE PUNCH i'm here for roy getting punched
This man's refusal to take his jacket off is. Something
Damn!
Not to victim blame but dude why would you drink that iced tea
@variousqueerthings @gjdraws
i fell down a youtube rabbithole of ckr interviews and allan hawco's face showed up on camera for half a second and i went "oh hey that looks like paul gross' boyfriend good pal"
...I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN ALLAN IN ANYTHING YET (unless wilby wonderful counts) and this is entirely paul gross tumblr's fault
*slides in* hey there...... might i introduce you to Allan Hawco's miniseries Caught, in which he plays a criminal and Paul Gross (whom he specifically had in mind for the role) plays the police officer that's manipulating him, and Paul Gross' white hair is on full display with what I can only describe as an emo fringe (but I swear it works) and his whole mood throughout is just leaden despair
(there is also ofc Saint Pierre, which Allan Hawco co-wrote and in which he's a cop and Paul Gross is a happy go lucky criminal that helps him out a few times Just Cos altho @gjdraws has theories for the future, and ofc Republic of Doyle, which Allan Hawco wrote starred in and showran and was his big breakthrough, in which they're both sorta-kinda-criminals-but-it's-hard-to-define-but-really-Hawco-is-a-PI-and-PG-is-his-ex-partner, but those being multiple season tv shows may need more investment) (Saint Pierre is a nice little fandom and only 2 seasons so far and co-stars the wondrous Josephine Jobert, while RoD is basically just Hawco writing whump for his own character for 6 seasons if that's something that compels)
(gosh they both have terrible hair here) (sry)
more Caughtposting sorry
I'm taking a million screenshots of Roy mainly to admire the anguish but there's probably also things to be said about the state of his tie at different points throughout the story, like even just through episode 3 we get a whole range

Reviews for Waiting for Godot (June 11 2026)
“Waiting for Godot feels new once again, pulsing with vitality,” raves the Toronto Star. Samuel Beckett’s timeless absurdist masterpiece “fits like a glove in our contemporary society,” brought to life with “profound sincerity” by Paul Gross and Tom McCamus. McCamus “lends immense pathos” to the befuddled Estragon, while Gross delivers “some of his finest stage work” as Vladimir. Staged for the first time on the Festival Theatre’s iconic thrust stage, this production demonstrates how space can transform storytelling. As the Toronto Star declares, “if there’s ever a case to be made about how a theatre’s space and design can inform a play, Atkinson’s revival should serve as Exhibit A... well worth the wait.” The Globe and Mail praises the leads’ “sizzling chemistry” and “piercing performances,” while BroadwayWorld calls them “wonderful together,” noting that this production will leave audiences “reflecting on their own existence long past the final bow.”

I need you all to know Allan Hawco wrote this show, and this dialogue, for these characters specifically.

Asked to reflect on Cimolino’s legacy, that’s what actor Paul Gross thinks about: “The stress involved in trying to carry an organization like this with all of these employees, when everything is shut down and you have no way of generating any income because nobody can come to the theatre.” “We owe them an enormous debt of gratitude for that,” he said, referring to Cimolino and executive director Anita Gaffney. Gross, who portrays Vladimir in this year’s production of “Waiting for Godot,” said it is a minor miracle that Stratford is in the financial shape it is.
