"Right! Don’t worry, there’s better games around. We can pop some balloons with darts, or go kiss some dames." Porter nudged Paul with his elbow.
"K-kiss?" Paul gulped. He'd kissed a couple girls in high school, but that was it. It wasn't that he wasn't keen on doing it again, it's just that he'd rather not pay for it. Also, it seemed a bit intimidating. "Let's go for the balloons."
You? You lift hammers for a living? How is that possible?
I'm a carpenter. In fact, I'm the best carpenter in Ever After.

"C’mon, c’mon. That was a warm-up round. Let’s go again." As he spoke, Porter flipped the rough-looking carnie a coin and stood back.
Paul shrugged his shoulders a bit, trying to loosen them up. He already felt a slight burning in his arms, but didn't want to admit defeat quite yet. He heaved the hammer back, and brought it back down on the platform. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50... and back down again.
"Well," Paul said sheepishly, "technically, it is an improvement."
With those skinny arms? I’d be surprised if you could even lift that hammer.
I'd prefer to call them wiry rather than skinny. And I lift hammers for a living. Shouldn't be too hard.
"See if you can beat 80." Porter offered the hammer to the guy beside him.
Paul looked up at the tower. The number "80" was marked nearly to the top. Shit, he thought, this is what that goddamn bragging gets me.
"Yeah, sure, totally," he said markedly less confidently, rubbing his nose. He heaved the hammer up onto his shoulder, stumbling back a bit as he did so, before swinging it down on the mark. The little peg rose, 10, 20, 30, 40... and then fell back down.
Oh, yeah. Bring on the hammer thing. I'm ready!

Then maybe you should use that to get people to do what you want rather than failing at intimidation.
I’m sure. Y’know, drain cleaner may be more effective.
