I'll start of with Þ as it is the first runic letter of my own name (Thorbjørn) and wears that as a pendant around my neck constantly (rarely exchanged for protection of danger and a silver necklace for fine use.) I'll start out with the two I know the best, and a few others to exemplify the amount of nonsense - though I won't do all, due to my current state of health. NOTE: Yes, I know that the z in many of the names could be exchaged for a capital R.
21 - Þ - Thorn/Thuriaz/Thurs (TH), equating to the modern English word "giant," referring to the Jötnar (or jætter in modern Danish), which naturally associates it with strength, danger and torment. And extending on that, probably, also refers to natural powers and forces that cannot be controlled. How is that gateway any more than weed is a gateway drug?
4 - Odal (O) - a couple of other names apply here too, mostly associated with ownership and inheritance as well as prosperity and wealth (for obvious reasons). Scandinavian laws were such as Odelsretten and Åsædsret. I can't in any way imagine how that turns into separation. Ownership and inheritance is never connected to any kind of loss in the old scripts on the Norsemen. That's Asian mythology for you, as far as I know... Or modern (and ridiculous) thoughts.
1 - Mannaz/ma∂r (M) - man as I human. The self could be an, ignorant, modern philosophic translation. But that kind of self is not found in the Old Norse religion, man was a part of nature and a medium for it, if anything.
The rune is actually most often associated with friendship and failure. "Human is Earth's field."
15 - Tiwaz/Tyr (T) - this one is partly true, but probably not on purpose. Tyr is, indeed, a warrior god, but nothing in the Old Way is ever so simple and onesided. The Tyr-rune is also often associated with victory/glory, time, faith/destiny (the ørlǫg) and maybe even the north star in Old English.
This is so poorly researched that I cringe just by looking at it and knowing no post I ever do will ever have that amount of notes...
This in no way reflects the Old Way or anything remotely Scandinavian/Germanic in roots. It's a modern misconception mixed with an old-time alphabet to seem imposing, old and native.
