MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY ACTIVITY
1. Social Journalism, Social media has significantly changed journalism, empowering individuals to create and report news instantly. Platforms like Twitter and Facebook are now major sources of news. Additionally, social news networks like Reddit and Digg allow users to share content, with editors choosing what gets featured. This model provides opportunities for writers to gain recognition and editors to have more journalistic freedom, often resulting in viral stories and brief fame for contributors.
2. Crowdsourcing, When a large online community collaborates to gather ideas, services, or content. Platforms like Waze, TripAdvisor, and wikis demonstrate this by pooling together people's knowledge to create valuable resources. It's a form of collective mobilization, where institutions leverage the crowd's power to gather diverse perspectives and solutions.
"Planting trees isn't just about growing forests; it's about cultivating hope for a greener future. Each sapling we nurture is a pledge against climate change, a promise to sustain life on our planet for generations to come."
