He loved her, he really did. But there were times where he couldn’t stand the fact that she bit her nails or that she enjoyed thunderstorms during the summer. It would bother him that she read so often she sometimes forgot to call him every day or so. He wanted to love her completely, he really did. But he knew that if he gave her his total love that it would all be a lie. Not telling her why he left in one day was a better option to him as opposed to having a conversation with her about it. Although loving her felt right in the moment, he knew he couldn’t grow old with her. So he left. And now the thunderstorms make her upset, and her favorite book no longer makes her smile. Funny isn’t it; how we give ourselves up to someone, only to have them one day disappear.
