Madison screamed as the woman rammed into the front of her wheel, spinning her wheelchair 90 degrees, and causing Madison’s body to lurch to the side. “Fuck!” She cursed, her hand shooting up to her chest, trying to steady her own breath. “What…. The fuck?!” She yelled out. “How the fuckdid you miss my fucking chair right there!? – Or sorry, how the fuck did your eyes miss my fucking chair?!” Madison growled, unable to contain the rage inside her.

Payton pulled her headphones out just in time to head the girl going off on her for not seeing her and her chair. Payton grabbed her skateboard and put her hand up, “Okay you need to chill the fuck out. I said I was fucking sorry, if you don’t like it too bad.” Payton knew she should probably shut up, since she was the one who ran into the girl but the girl’s rage only trigger Payton’s, probably making the situation worse. “We are done here and you can go back to being a bitch to someone else.”

“Not the first time someone has ran in to me, or anyone, and it won’t be the last,” Danny says, offering a hand as she stood. “The streets are more dangerous in summer when the rollerbladers are out though. They get real pushy.”

Payton was thinking that whoever she ran into would give her a sour face and some attitude, so when she was instead meet with a helping hand and some jokes the girls anxiety settled a bit and she didn’t feel as bad. “Wow, if that’s the case maybe you should be the one keeping a better eye out.” the girl joked as a small smile started to appear on her face and she picked up her skateboard. “Oh god I don’t even come out when the rollerbladers are out, those guys do not mess around.”

Nathan had decided, seeing as the girls were with Amy, to take advantage of the free time to see what the town’s food festival had to offer. Time to himself wasn’t something he had all that much of when they were around, as he was either with them or busy working in his studio or on a project in the city. In fact, free time in general wasn’t something he ever had much of. When he was turning the corner to peruse the next row of stalls, however, the last thing he expected was someone on a skateboard to come barrelling straight into him. Naturally his first words weren’t exactly pleasent, he couldn’t imagine anyone’s would be. “What the fuck?” Thankfully he didn’t end up on the floor too. “Not going to argue with that right now…”

She wasn’t surprised when the incident was meet with curse words from the person she had collided with. The girl pulled herself off the ground and dusted the dirt off her before looking up at the guy, “Look I said I was sorry, either you can accept the apology or walk away. Obviously I didn’t want to bump into you, trust me I could have gone all day without this pleasant talk.” Payton said, her voice obviously a little sour but her new injury's from falling were starting to hurt and her politeness was put on hold.

             He was running, she was skateboarding and both of them weren’t concentrating. One second he was clear of anyone and the next he was jumping out of the way, listening to her fall onto the ground behind. Pulling his headphones off, Jamie ran over to check she was okay. “Whoa, no it’s cool—” He pushed an arm out towards her, offering a hand if she needed it. “I wasn’t looking. We’re both idiots, you okay?”

               Payton was half expecting someone to curse her out or to simply just ignore the girl and let her pick herself up, but she was instead meet with a friendly face, offering her help up. She pulled herself off the group with his help, and dusted the dirt off her. “Thanks man.” She pulled her headphones out of her ears and picked up her skateboard. “No I know but really I shouldn’t even be on the sidewalk with this thing. Yea - yea I’m okay. A few scraps maybe but I’ll be okay.”

Payton’s comment wasn’t at all unexpected, and Ben laughed before he spoke, shaking his head. “Yeah, I kinda can’t, and therein lies the fun,” he said with a grin. Fun wasn’t at all what it was likely to be, he knew that much, and what he was putting himself through could be considered torture by some. As she continued with her plans for the evening, however, he perked a brow and looked over in her direction, laughing. “Oh, you think so, huh? What makes you think I’m going to agree to that?” Aside from the fact he usually did.

Payton let out her own laugh as Ben admitted his inability to cook, and she imagined him trying to juggle making food for eight people; that was something she might actually pay to see. “You should try ordering it all in, costs more but you don’t have to do any of the work.” The girl suggested with a small shrug. The girl’s smile grew as she saw herself tempting Ben with words like bar or drinking. “Because having eight shots sounds a lot better then cooking for eight people.” She said raising an eyebrow at him slightly. “Plus I am amazing company”

Ellie’s first reaction to sudden, physical situations with strangers, was usually always to tense up, sometimes her knee-jerk reaction would be anger, especially lately, but not too much anymore. On a bad day for sure, but today she actually managed to hold herself back and figure out what had happened exactly before jumping to conclusions, and when she knew for sure, she felt bad immediately. “No, it’s not your fault,” she said and shook her head, extending a helping hand so the woman could get back on her feet again. “Are you alright?”

Payton was almost certain that whoever it was she collided with was going to give her hell for being on the sidewalk with a skateboard, but to her pleasant surprise she was instead meet with a helping hand and a concerned voice. “It totally is I should have been paying attention.” Payton said as she accepted the girl’s hand and pulled herself off the group. “Yea, yea I’m okay. Just a few scraps but that’s nothing. I should be asking if you are okay. You probably took the bigger part of that hit.”

The unexpected collision with a skateboarder ended up with Clara and the perpetrator falling onto the ground. She was beyond thankful she didn’t end up face down, lest her temper grow even more exponentially. “Watch where you’re going next time,” Clara replied, her nose scrunching up in fleeting annoyance. “You and me both, because I should’ve been looking.”

It was Payton’s instinct to feel bad when she knew something was her fault, she couldn't help it. But when her immediate apology wasn’t meet with acceptance her temper changed almost immediately. “I said I was sorry okay, I was distracted.” The girl picked her skateboard up and tucked it under her arm, keeping only one headphone out. “Maybe you should have been, cause really this is a pretty big sidewalk.” Payton knew she was being a bitch but the girl’s attitude was already changed.

There was a clunking noise in the distance, and slowly but surely, the noise grew louder and louder. It was a noise that Philip was well aware off– small wheels hitting up against the cracks and spaces in the pavement. Though, he wasn’t paying enough attention. Or maybe he trusted that if it was a skater, they would have had more brains to swervearound him, not into him.

The sudden force caused him to stumble back, practically going completely off balance. If it was one of those fucking scooters, he thought, but it wasn’t. Philip regained any sense of stability that he had, dusting his pants off a bit. Glancing towards the culprit, there was a deeply annoyed sigh that rushed out. “Jesus Christ– Stop looking like such a fuckin’ poser and get your shit together, Munoz. Do I gotta teach ya how to ride that damn thing?”

This could have been a terrible situation for Payton, depending on who it is she ran into but once she picked herself up off the ground, apology's spilling out of her mouth and finally looked at the person a sigh of relief came from her as she saw Philip’s face. Even if she knew he was going to shit on her for crashing into him. 

“Oh Shut up of Vogal, if anyone looks like a poser it’s you with your greaser style haircut.” Payton sassed the boy back as she took her headphones out of her ears. “Oh please like you know how to ride a skateboard. You would probably fall off of it after five minutes.” She teased him with a small smirk on her face, picking up her skateboard and tucking it under her arm.

Harley had been eyeing the girl that raced down the street, noting the way she zigzagged across the street, only for her to come directly towards her. “Hey, hey!” Harley yelled out, only jumping out of the way at the last minute when the girl finally noticed her. “Jesus,” the brunette murmured breathlessly, turning to peer at the damage the other had received. “Are you crazy? You could have hit someone, you almost hit me! What if a kid was walking in the street?” The brunette said sharply, groaning out before she sucked in a deep breath calm herself down. “Just grab your shit and pull your damn earphones out.”

Payton dusted herself off and pulled her headphones out of her ears, just in time to hear about half of the girl’s freak out. “Hey - I said I was fucking sorry if you don’t walk away. And maybe a kid would have been smart enough to actually get out of the way.” Instead of picking up her skateboard Payton jumped back on it and stuck her headphones in her ears again. “Sorry what was that? Can’t hear you.” Payton knew she was being childish, but after a long day Payton wasn’t in the mood to be yelled at. She knew it was her fault for not paying attention but if she didn’t want Payton’s apology she could have her attitude.

It was always nice to see a familiar face in such a new location– even if they had been here for two years. Tanner still felt like there was a lot to know about the area, so to feel more comfortable was always welcoming. “You’re at a tattoo shop? Dude, that’s so badass!” There was an echo of a chuckle, that comment being all too familiar with any art or media major. “Fuck, yeah– I’m surprised we didn’t end up living in a garbage can. But, uh– That’s awesome. Really. And I’m good, Lanford is good. I found a place in Westbrook. It’s pushing on my budget a little bit, but honestly, so worth it. I like the area, and the travel into the city is fine with me. I’m doing some assistant director stuff, so like– I’m close. Close but so far.” After all, Tanner’s number one dream was to direct their own film; officially. They just felt like they still had so much to learn.

Payton’s smile grew a bit more with Tanner’s encouragement, there wasn’t a lot of people for Payton to express her love of all forms of art but with Tanner and her living in the same city once again she finally had that person again. Someone who would get as equally excited over a new indie movie or new art exhibit coming out. Payton let out a small chuckle at Tanner’s joke about them living in trash cans, remembering their small new york apartments; not that Paytons current living situation was much better.

“Tanner that’s fucking awesome! I don’t even know what it is but I’ll totally be first in line, as long as your involved.” Payton said with a smile spread across her face. She remembered Tanner telling her that this was there dream, and it wasn’t hard to see with the passion that sparked on Tanner’s face when they talked about movies. “Make sure you don’t forget me when you are a big famous Hollywood director.” She joked as she leaned back in her seat, remembering how comfortable it was with Tanner.

Maybe it wasn’t the smartest idea for the girl to be skateboarding with her headphones in and music full blast, while day dreaming. Because the next thing she knew instead of riding on her board she was colliding into someone or something and rolling onto the ground. “Oh fuck. Jesus - Shit. Sorry. That was my bad.” The girl started apologizing, feeling like an idiot as she started to roll up from the ground, elbows and knees appropriately soar from the fall. “I’m a total idiot.”

Thanksgiving, it was a big thing, and Ben had made the mistake of inviting his whole family over for dinner in some sort of grand gesture he figured would be appreciated by… —well, someone. Problem was, he wanted to do it all himself and he had no idea where to even start. As he wandered the aisles of the grocery store, aimlessly, he sighed heavily, and then caught the eye of the nearest person. “Any idea how much food I’d need for, like, eight people? For Thanksgiving dinner?” he questioned. “This place is…” He paused, laughed. “It’s like hell to me.”

Payton was making her weekly run to the grocery store for a couple of cheap tv dinners and whatever else was on her small list of items. Thanksgiving wasn’t a big deal for Payton since her only family was her mother, and she had no idea Payton had moved back to town. So when she saw Ben searching through the aisle’s looking lost as ever. “Eight people? Jesus Ben I didn’t even think you could cook for one person and you expect to cook for eight?” Payton couldn’t help from teasing him, it was her natural instinct towards the other. “You’ll need a shit ton, obviously. I’d say one huge turkey or two medium ones. If I were you though I would ditch and go to the bar with me tonight.” The girl said with a devilish smile on her face, fully knowing that wasn’t what she should be suggesting but the girl wasn’t that great of an influence.

Erin sat in a booth at Muncher’s Diner, looking forlornly at the milkshake in front of her. She was getting increasingly full after having finished her fries, but Erin hated wasting food. She turned to the person closest to her. “I’m not gonna be able to finish this, you want some milkshake?”

Payton was so tired from a simple bad night of sleep that she didn’t even realize it was Erin who was sitting in the booth next to her until she heard the girl speak up. A small smile grew on Payton’s face when she saw the milkshake. “Very tempting.” Payton debated in her head a few seconds before getting up from her table and moving to Erin’s both. “Ok I’m in.” She gave in and took an extra straw and started digging in. “I don’t know how you can’t finish this vanilla is the best.” Payton managed to speak in between her gulps.

For Tanner, there wasn’t much time that they wanted to spend on guessing. They took their moment, trying to shuffle through their guesses, but no lights were flickering. As they glanced up, everything came rushing on in. A bright smile appeared across their lips, “Payton– Oh my God– Hi.”

With the realization, Tanner took this moment to adjust their posture in the chair, sitting straight up. “Yeah– I moved here, like, two years ago. Rent was way cheaper than the city. I just– Wow. Hi. How are you? – Take a seat, please.”

Payton couldn’t stop her smile from growing when Tanner recognized her as well. They had hung out a for a while during Payton’s last few months in New York but Payton was almost her Tanner made a bigger impression on her then she made on them. Tanner was just so in tune with themselves, they knew who they were and weren’t afraid to show it; unlike Payton. And she admired them for that. 

“No way! I moved back here almost two years ago. I can’t believe we both came here that’s crazy.” Really Payton couldn’t be happier about the coincidence, it was nice to see a familiar face she was actually glad to see. Payton pulled out the chair across from the other and took a seat, “Thanks. I’ve been good. I work down at the tattoo parlor in down. And they said I couldn’t do anything with an art degree huh?” She said with a small chuckle. “What about you? What neighborhood you in? Hows Lanford been treating you?” Payton asked instantly curious as to what Tanner had bee up to since she was here, wondering how she could have missed her for two years.

           Skye was walking home from her dad’s place when she decided to take a detour and swing by the lake. It wasn’t really on the way, but it had been a while since she had been there, and with the sun hanging low above the trees, casting long shadows and bathing the area in a picturesque glow, she figured it would be well worth it. She wasn’t surprised to find another person down there, enjoying the view, and after a few moments of silence, she turned to them with a light smile. “Do you think the water is too cold for bathing now?”

         It was a long day for Payton, she had numerous hour long appointments all day, and now that she was finally done she decided some peaceful time down by the lake would help balance out a stressful day. She was standing by the sand, leaning up against her parked car. Payton hadn't noticed the female walking up until she was standing next to her. She recognized the blonde, it took a minute before Payton remembered where from. Public school, they were a few years apart but Payton remember because she always felt bad for the girl. Kids were mean back then, not that people were much nicer as adults; but kids were more obvious about it. Payton immediately chuckled and looked at the girl when she heard her. “Probably yea, unless you wear one of those like full body suits.” She said with a small shrug before looking back out to the water. “You’re Skye right? You went to Lanford Public School?”

Their gaze may have only lasted for a few mere seconds, but it was enough to make Tanner’s pupils dilate. Unfortunately, it was something that always happened when they made eye contact with someone incredibly attractive– that, and well, they typically flushed to the extreme.

For someone who tried to make it obvious how gay and out there they were, their confidence was quick to shrivel up, eyes flickering their focus down onto the cup of hot chocolate in their hands. And with a bit of an inhale, a mumbled, “wow,” was released.

Lanford was the last place she excited to see Tanner again, especially considering the last time she say them they were both in the big apple. Tanner was one of the only people Payton meet during her time in the big city that she actually missed. Payton always knew Tanner was going places, they weren’t like all the other pretensions and egotistical people in new york, Tanner had soul. So when she walked into the coffee shop to see them sitting with a small drink Payton was struck still in shock. 

“Tanner?” She spoke out, her mouth slightly open, but finally she started walking towards the other. “Holly shit that is you. Your in Lanford now? What happened to New York?” Payton bombarded poor Tanner with questions. But she was beyond excited and curious to see her old friend once again. “Can’t say I’m not glad to see you.”
