I'm not gonna use this one for the final piece cuz it doesn’t have the mood I'm going for, but I really like the wet hair. Wet hair is a pain to draw and yet the sketch of it came out so good!

“Hello, love.”
Woo! I finally finished it!!! Honestly, I wanted to get this out a while ago when @twoandahalfstudios released their Casper plushie, but ended up not doing it until now, after finally completing all the main endings for A Date With Death. Guess it's time to take another two years to finish Beyond the Bet now _(:3 」∠)_
@payper-arts wanna hang out on the .png with me
@siphisket how dare you send this to me in bed, i’m gonna be cold forever now
Us over our cold (dead) bodies
Today's drawing took about 2 hrs but I'm also rusty as hell so I'll take it as a win
Random art reblog bc I’m proud of this one and I deserve to be 😌🥰
Random but do you have general tips to draw humanoid character with animal ear without their human ear while not making it looks weird or uncanny?
The main tip I have regarding any form of humanoid stylisation is to use human anatomy as a base and sort of morph from there.
In the case of ears, it's worth understanding what components make them up and how they need to shift and change relative to other elements of the head/face to look like a natural extension of the already existing anatomy VS something added onto it and out of place
Personally, I also try to make sure the rest of the face gets adjusted and more angular/"animal-like" to make it mesh better with the ear shape
One thing you don't want to do is add the hair and then just sort of paste ears to the top of the skull without thinking about how they play with the jawline
This is your reminder to redraw vintage pin-ups and pulp art with your OCs and favorite characters, you won't know true joy untill you do
I’m so ready chat
Casually thinking about reneging my tav knife comic for my durge instead bc I finally settled on personalities for them and it would fit him better… 🤔
hmm artists what feature do you draw on the face first. this is for science btw.
bring back tumblr ask culture let me. bother you with questions and statements
reblog to let people know it's ok to bother you with questions and statements
I swear the indecision is just a never ending battle
"It took me TWO years to finish this sketch book!" Well that's cuz you're not fuckin sketching. Those are fully painted pieces dawg that's a renderedbook. I've gone through four sketchbooks in my off time this year alone I just draw stupid faces and shit for fun. pussy up like the rest of us and start drawing stick figures with guns
I can't express how damaging this has been to young artists.
Of the many things I struggled to explain to my students "Your sketch book is mainly for practicing techniques, practicing new things, NOTES, and dumb doodles that come to your mind that can inspire you later or help lead you to a good idea. It is NOT where you draw you final pieces. Please kill that darling," is pretty high on the list.
I legit started calling it a "first draft" book to activate prior knowledge from English because influencers have destroyed the concept of sketchbooks.
It’s so sad to me that I’ve kinda forgotten how to do this… not even as the result of influencers, but my actual professors at college. After having to treat my sketchbook as a graded assignment and being told some of the pages didn’t measure up to standard, I’ve dreaded having a sketchbook at all. Even years after graduating, I still don’t really like having a sketchbook because I fear the inadequacy I’ve been told I possess for not creating masterpieces in what is essentially a book meant to experiment with ideas and record thoughts…
Do you fellow artists feel like you have too many ideas, too many possible projects but not enough ability to actually turn your ideas into reality? i'm feeling like that right now and it sucks. And the worst part is that i remember feeling like that a couple of years ago so i just wonder, am i ever gonna be good enough?
Who else has thousands of ideas but unfortunately your mortal form is constantly at 'low battery' energy levels?
what is your eye color. what is your favorite color. what is the color that appears most frequently in your wardrobe. what color is your favorite blanket. what color is your water bottle.
Wild how I’ve yet to settle on a watermark/signature for my art. Not surprising cuz it literally took me about five years to settle on a handle, but still…
