Critical Mass 20th aniversary ride in SF. so epic!!!
We met you guys in the Redwoods the night before his rear wheel blew up. We said goodbye in Garberville. Derek and I. You guys rocked! I know know, because of you, to invest in speakers. Thanks for the kind wisdom. Derek found this by searching for that kayak building school in Ferndale. Crazy!
Hi! Ya we remember you. How is your guy's bike tour goin?
PS. We only got to use the speakers for one day! But it was a glorious one :)
how is the biking going? it sounds like an amazing trip! i went for a small ride in the sierra's a couple days ago... shore is different from riding in the city : ). btw i recognize your photos from SF state. i don't have any pictures of me up but maybe you remember me from the experimental college--my name is Meli. i'm curious, how did you find my tumblr?
the biking was amazin'! we have been back in SF for about a month now. how was biking through the Sierras? Is there a lot of car traffic?
Your name sounds familiar, and I bet if I saw you I would remember you (im pretty bad with names in general). I found your tumblr through importing my contacts from gmail, and yours looked cool so I started following you :)
East bay bike party last Friday night! Tis great to be back home, in the bay area, riding the streets with about 400 peeps, blasting music and havin a good time. I wish we could tour like this!
This is how thoroughly we women have been sexualized, that we cannot make the kind of noises that come with physical exertion without it being associated with sex. In fact, everything about our bodies has been sexualized in one way or another. If we groan during sport or we breast-feed in public, we are criticized for making people think about sex. If we talk openly about things like menstruation and poop and farts, then we are criticized for making people not want to think about sex. Think about what it means to be ladylike and all of the adjectives that go along with it: elegant, cultured, classy, sophisticated. To be successful at being feminine means being successful at being private, keeping your body’s natural functions behind closed doors and never letting anyone know they exist. It means to be constrained, that you do not let your legs spread wide in public transportation and you do not make noises that are harsh on the ears. It means presenting a polished, shiny surface to the world at all times, one that allows others to project whatever they wish onto you while never showing too much of your true self.

Flash back photo Micah just sent us from Port Townsend, volunteering at the ReCyclery. Good reminder of all the awesome and wonderful folks we met along the way.
I searched "bike kitchen" and what do ya know some cats I know pop up. Jelly of your trip it looks righteous! My response to anything that isn't a slur is "thanks dad!"
Yoyo!!!! Dooood! So good to hear from you. Sorry we didn't reply sooner, the android client we were using was hard to figure out messages. Our bike trip was amazing! How were the last few months for you.
we are back in da bay through a foggy golden gate bridge!
Jon bending some wood, learning a little bout wooden kayak building.
Behold the wooden skeleton of an Aluetian Sea Kayak, Unangam Iquax, in the studio of Mind’s Eye Manufactory in Ferndale, Ca. Stumbled upon here while walking to the grocery store the night our biking was finished. I cant explain the excitement I feel being around this type of craft. This is the third time we have come across wooden boat/kayak building on this trip. I think its a sign…
Inspiring story!
sunrays after all the rain and fog is truely blissful
A beautiful way to end our trip: Jumping in the Eel river. While we are bummed we won't be able to ride back into San Francisco, we have also accepted that this is a part of bicycle touring; you never know what to expect. We were several miles away from any bike shop, no one in town seemed to want to give us a ride, and the buses werent running(cuz it was Sunday). But we were lucky to have such a wonderful friend come pick us up from Eureka,( the town we left two days ago). Sooooo if Jon got a new rear wheel in town, it would be expensive when he has the part at home....we were only 200 miles away from SF, so it seemed more practical to just use what he has (also new tires are made with crappier metal...we can buy an older more solid and cheaper one back in sf if need be...). We would also have to re-cycle the two days back to Garberville. When your ready to get home, this backtrack doesnt sound very appealing. And after being on the road for well over a month... LoNG story SHorT....our bicycle tour is coming to an end.
