Doing Battle by Paul Fussell - A memoir depicting the author’s experience in war. Though originally planning to pursue a career in journalism, things changed once Fussell was exposed to the battlefield.
The Isaac Bell Adventures by Clive Cussler - This series of books follows investigator Isaac and his many adventures in a thrilling 9-piece saga.
Kindred by Octavia Butler - Protagonist Dana is in a time-bending world, constantly shifting between California in 1976 and a pre-civil war slave plantation. Dana must compromise and survive the struggles of one time to ensure she also does so in the other.
My Loose Thread by Dennis Cooper - Asked to complete a dangerous task, main character Larry faces complications when he discovers the journal of another student.
