Patients with PCOS are not monolithic and defy stereotypes everyday! Reshare from Mental Health Therapist Elizabeth Armstrong, LPC-I (@pcostherapist on Instagram). You can have _________ and live with PCOS. Fill in the blank. What came to mind? Peace. Love. Acceptance. Fun. Children. Food. Movement. Rest. Happiness. Intimacy. You can have it. Let's talk about what you want and why PCOS does not get to control what you have. You deserve to have the life you want, to feel worthy of what you want, to have support getting there. #pcos #pcossupport #emotionalwellness #wellness

Words of wisdom from our friend at Big Fit Deal. According to Penn Medicine, the correlation between weight and PCOS is about the body’s inability to use insulin properly, which can lead to weight gain [in some people]. However, even though many PCOS patients experience weight gain, some do not gain weight. PCOS bodies come in all shapes and sizes. Therefore, weight loss is not the only measure of success in PCOS management. Perhaps the focus should be shifted to improving overall metabolic health and providing individualized solutions to fit the patients' needs and goals instead of recommending weight loss. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to PCOS treatment, but in addition to appropriate medical care, choosing healthful practices such as eating more vegetables and less processed foods, or taking a walk for 10 minutes after meals, mental health counseling, or getting more restful sleep can help to jump start a healthier you. Happy Father's Day to all fathers, and special recognition to fathers of angel babies and those currently dealing with infertility. How can you support your partner on Father's Day? Let's reflect on these words by Patient Advocate Lisa Rosenthal at RMA of Connecticut. "Father's Day is tough when you're not yet the father you've been hoping to be. Whether he shows it or not, he's hurting. Whether he says it or not, he's wishing that this year had been different. We all know how it feels to be on the outside looking in - Father's Day drives that home in a way that other days don't. So pamper him. Make him breakfast. Find a movie to watch together. Pop some popcorn. Hit some golf balls. Let him sleep in. Love him and make him feel special."
