he’s   C A U T I O U S   about  his  approach:  something  agile  to  the  need  to  not  be  thrown  in  a  jail  cell  for  starting  a  fight  with  the  next  douchebag  that  walks  his  way  —-  it’s  not  PURPOSEFUL  as  much  as  a  habit  he  hasn’t  quite  broken  yet.  some  people  had  storms  raging  within  them  and  their  arsehole  mantra  tended  to  aid  in  fuelling  that  fire  (  or maybe he’s grown too used to being on the defensive side of things  ).  “ can’t say I know much about that other crap you just said but I ain’t against a good black coffee, ”  he  offers  a  grin,  no  real  subtext  to  it  but  rathe r the  glowing  cherry  on  top  of  his  I  might  just  be  a  douchebag  pie.  “ wouldn’t know —- been on the whiskey and all that. ”

( jon bernthal, 38, he/him )  welcome to reprieve, JOHN GILBERT who is from TVD, SEASON 2.  rumor has it they are a HUNTER, but only they could tell you the truth! when i close my eyes, i think of them and imagine THE SMELL OF FRESHLY DUG GRAVES, THE SOUND OF THUNDER AFTER A BLAZING HOT DAY & OLD CARS ON THEIR LAST LEG.

          HISTORY: in depth here ( minor change being that he became a hunter following his brother’s death, hence his previous prejudice regarding vampires ). 

                                              PRESENT/RUNDOWN.

he’d had his judgements regarding the things that went bump in the night; call it prejudice formed from experience and loss. she wasn’t his daughter -- he wouldn’t have ever said he’d deserved that title but it came from a place of wanting what he thought was best for her. so he made choices and found himself at a loss when they became choices he regretted: when his efforts to save her hadn’t done so at all.

he made a final call, a security blanket to ensure she wouldn’t die because losing his life knowing his daughter would get the chance to live a better one, was and would always be worth it. 

he’s ready and it should’ve happened. he should be dead and yet he wakes up in another town. something he’d call bullshit on being a fucked up version of the afterlife. so he’s concerned about the why and the how because the who is just detail and certainly collateral as far as the bigger picture goes.
