Natasha was alive. She tried again and again and again to process that concept but it was all too surreal. The S.W.O.R.D. lab attendants had tried their hardest to explain it to her. To recount the story from the beginning, slowly. Bit by bit. Some of them were even kind to her, but Natasha wasn’t interested in that story. It was always the same, wasn’t it? “We’ve revived you. You belong to us now.” It was the red room all over again, and she wasn’t about to be controlled by another organization, especially one that thought of her as nothing more than a killing machine, to do their bidding.
Natasha didn’t have all of her memories back yet, but she knew she had been what some might call a “hero.” An avenger. She knew she had safe houses littered across the globe where she could secret herself away, but right now….she could only only remember the location of one place that had meant the most to her. The Avengers compound. Stumbling somewhat disoriented through the street, she thought she could see the “A” just ahead.
peter was sitting up in a tree reading over a comic book. he did this from time to time to get away from the crowds inside the avenger’s compound. while he learned a lot inside, sometimes he needed to get away, especially when someone overlooked his opinions due to his age. peter knew he’d prove himself. hopefully it’d be sooner rather than later. after the battle with thanos, peter wanted to step up and become a better avenger. he trained daily to better himself. snapping out of his trance as he saw someone walking toward the building. once he realized exactly who was walking toward the compound, his comic book fell from the top of the tree to the grass. peter quickly climbed down the tree, keeping his space from natasha as he spoke. there was something off about her, but he had to check it out. “hey! black widow!” he called out, not sure what was fully going on. “you’re alive!” he exclaimed, not being able to contain his smile. peter was overwhelmed with confusion and excitement. “i dunno if you remember me, but i’m peter parker.” he cautiously moved closer. “hey, are you okay? we should get you inside. do you want me to help?” he asked, figuring it was best to ask permission to touch her. he’d seen what she can do; he definitely wanted no part in being on the receiving end.
